Chapter 36 - Chapter 36

Chapter 36: The Grimoire's Release

Lance stood before the Master Valve, his hands hovering over the deepest fracture. He was ready to enact Luke's final command: intentionally shatter the prison and guide the sentient chaos into the Shadowed Realm.

"Elara, I need you to focus your elemental power on the outer crystal lattice," Lance ordered. "When the Valve shatters, your energy must serve as the initial funnel, preventing the chaos from spraying everywhere."

"Understood," Elara said, her sapphire Matrix glowing intensely as she began to charge the walls with pure, directed elemental force.

"Lyra, reinforce the exit," Lance commanded. "Keep the space between the Valve and the open leakage conduit perfectly clear. We need a clean shot."

Lyra positioned herself, creating a heavy-duty, stabilizing boundary with her reinforced gear.

Lance knew that shattering the Valve and immediately forming a massive, stable conduit would require a surge of control far beyond his current 10% precision. He needed pure, momentary amplification.

Just then, the emergency comm crackled with static, followed by Kian's voice: "Lance! Opal and I found the mechanism! One of Luke's Grimoire spells—a Stability Amplifier—it's designed to temporarily boost the structural precision of a stabilizing Matrix!"

"The spell requires maximum volatile input!" Opal's voice cut in, strained but resolute. "Kian is draining the necessary stabilization energy from the exterior grid. I'm delivering the volatile input now!"

Through the door, Opal scrambled into the control room, her face streaming with sweat, holding a piece of salvaged copper conduit wrapped in sparking wires—Kian's latest, desperate invention.

"This is a Volatile Precision Injector!" Opal shouted, thrusting the conduit toward Lance's Matrix. "It's a fraction of the Grimoire's power, but it will give your Matrix a controlled jolt of pure volatile chaos. You have to stabilize the chaos inside your own Matrix to power the spell!"

This was the ultimate test. Lance had always contained Opal's chaos externally. Now, he had to integrate it.

Lance took the copper conduit and pressed it directly against his Stabilizer Matrix. The Volatile Precision Injector immediately discharged, flooding Lance's Matrix with a surge of raw, beautiful, terrifying volatile chaos.

Lance grit his teeth, refusing to let the chaos explode. He applied his entire 10% precision internally, fighting the volatile energy not to expel it, but to force it into a state of perfect, crystalline order within his own system.

The chaotic input was stabilized, and the resulting feedback was immense. Lance's Matrix didn't just glow; it resonated with a pure, white-hot brilliance, amplifying his precision potential to an impossible level.

"Now, Lance! Use the boost!" Opal screamed, falling back, exhausted.

Lance slammed his hands against the primary fracture on the Master Valve. He didn't push Motes; he pushed chaos-fueled, amplified precision.

He intentionally overloaded the Valve's fundamental structure, instantly and permanently overriding the Council's command.

The colossal crystalline Master Valve didn't shatter into shards; it disintegrated into billions of perfectly ordered Mote-dust particles.

With the prison walls gone, the contained sentient chaos was instantly released. It erupted from the ground beneath them, a silent, colossal wave of dark, purple energy filling the chamber. The energy entity was free and raging toward the open air.

"Elara! Guide the funnel!" Lance shouted.

Elara's charged elemental walls caught the wave, briefly holding the raw chaos in a massive, turbulent funnel directed toward the open leakage conduit.

Lance extended his arms toward the turbulent energy wave. With his Matrix singing with amplified, volatile precision, he performed the Master Stabilizer's ultimate maneuver: he imposed a perfect, wide conduit of stability between the shattered Valve and the leakage point.

The sentient chaos, finding the path of perfect resistance-free order, immediately surged into the conduit. The entire purple wave compacted and flowed with terrifying speed and structural stability through the narrow opening, tracing the path Luke Silverwoods had designed for it.

The entity was being guided into its new home: the Shadowed Realm.

Lance held the conduit steady against the screaming chaos, his Matrix burning with the effort, knowing that the ultimate reckoning was still to come.
