Chapter 162 - Chapter 162: Haoshoku Awakening! Dragon's Savior

Guillaume never expected this.

The World Government mistakenly believed that the wife and child, who were supposed to have been killed by Rocks himself long ago, actually didn't die in God Valley!

What was even more unexpected was that they actually appeared here, right under his nose!

What was this called?

Wasn't this a windfall from heaven, a godsend of luck?

If he could kill these two and send their bodies to the Holy Land, before the Gorosei...

Wouldn't he skyrocket in rank on the spot?

With such a massive contribution, even being promoted directly to the Chief of CP0 would likely be easily achieved, wouldn't it?

Guillaume was nearly dazed by this windfall.

He couldn't help but think.

Could today be his lucky day?

Not only could he complete the World Government's mission and kill Dragon.

But he could also conveniently slaughter two major threats in the eyes of the Gorosei.

At that thought, Guillaume immediately abandoned the heavily wounded Dragon and rushed toward the location of the wooden house on the coast.

On the street, Dragon, still wondering why Guillaume had suddenly stopped, froze for a moment when he saw the direction Guillaume had flown off in. Then, as if realizing something, his expression changed drastically.

"He couldn't be going to..."

"Oh no! Ms. Alice! Teach!!"

Dragon's eyes widened, his heart pounded, and he limped toward the shore.

"No! Please don't let anything happen! It won't! They're just ordinary citizens; there's no reason for a World Government agent to attack them, right?"

He comforted himself this way.

But when Dragon, enduring the agonizing pain in his leg, rushed to the seaside, he saw Guillaume laughing maniacally as a single slash tore the wooden house to pieces.

Then, he dove down from the sky, his two scythe-like arms slashing directly at Alice and her son, who were huddled tightly together.

There was not a shred of hesitation!

As a veteran CP0 agent, Guillaume knew that executing a mission required decisiveness and ruthlessness; one could never be indecisive.

Otherwise, complications would easily arise.

It was precisely this decisive style that had allowed him to reach his current position, becoming a member of CP0 above all other CP Agents.

So, after discovering the identity of Alice and her son, he didn't hesitate for a second and chose to strike immediately to kill them both!

Afterward, he would take their bodies back to the Holy Land and claim his reward from the Gorosei!

Thinking about his impending rise to power and promotion.

Guillaume couldn't help but burst into maniacal laughter.

On the contrary.

Beneath his blades, Alice and Teach were utterly despairing.

This time, facing the imminent arrival of death, they didn't even feel panic or fear.

There was only complete and utter despair.

Alice never expected that after surviving the ordeal of God Valley with such difficulty, she would have to face this day again.

Only, this day had come too soon.

She had originally intended to raise her son well.

But now... everything had become a pipe dream!

Facing Guillaume's descending blades, she simply held her son tightly and silently in her arms.

Watching Dragon, limping and covered in blood, roaring as he rushed from a distance, a warm smile slowly curled at the corners of her mouth. Then she suddenly shouted, "Don't worry about us! Run! Young Dragon!"

The sharp blades slashed down toward their heads!

Dragon, who had reached a hundred meters away but was unable to save the despairing mother and son in time, had blood and tears streaming from the corners of his eyes as he let out a hoarse roar.

"No! No!"

"No!!!"

In the next instant!

*Buzz buzz buzz!!!*

A burst of black and red light suddenly erupted from his scarred body, rapidly expanding and sweeping forward, passing through Guillaume's body in an instant.

"Wha... what?!"

Guillaume groaned. He felt as if his head had been struck by a sledgehammer; his mind reeled, the world spun, and he suddenly lost all strength and balance, tumbling from the air above Alice and crashing heavily onto the ground.

Alice and Teach slumped over and fell unconscious.

In the distance, Dragon was stunned by this sight.

Although he didn't know what had happened, he immediately seized the opportunity, scrambling forward to pick up Alice and Teach, one in each arm, intending to flee.

But... "Damn it! Could this be..."

Guillaume clutched his splitting head and stood up shakily, staring at Dragon on the ground with his swollen compound eyes.

"Haoshoku??"

"You brat!! As expected of that old bastard Garp's bloodline, you actually possess the potential for Haoshoku!"

His hands transformed back into snow-bright blades.

"I truly cannot let you live!"

"So what if you've awakened Haoshoku?"

"In the end, you will still die!!"

He lunged forward with a hideous expression.

"You all will die!!"

The cold blade slashed straight toward his face!

Dragon could even see his own unwilling and angry face reflected in the bright blade.

"Is it over? My... life?"

This thought had just surfaced in Dragon's mind.

In the next instant!

"Boom!!"

A deafening explosion suddenly erupted on the beach behind Guillaume.

Out of the corner of his eye, Dragon seemed to catch a glimpse of something falling from the sky.

It smashed the beach behind Guillaume into pieces.

The resulting violent shockwave slammed into Guillaume's back, swatting him away from Dragon like a mosquito!

He flew over Dragon's head, screaming as he crashed into a residential house in the city, leaving a man-shaped hole.

"Arara, what was blocking my way? A speed bump?"

"Eh? Isn't this Dragon? It's only been a few days; how did you manage to get yourself into this state again?"

A familiar voice, like heavenly music, rang in Dragon's ears.

The dust in front of him cleared, revealing a familiar figure.

Looking at the white-haired youth who had descended before him like a savior and saved him once again.

Dragon's mouth slowly fell open.

"Ca-ca-ca... Carlo?!!"
