Chapter 2 - Mad as Hell

On the other side of the hall another figure was busy sipping at wine as she watched the play going on in front of her. As an observer Emery was very much enjoying herself. She had already been in this world for a year and boy was this world something.

The story of this world was about a kick ass Cinderella and her rival prince charming. Merideth was a meritorious student from a lower race who after countless hardships was able to secure her place in the galaxy's most renowned military academy.

She proved herself to be both an excellent cadet and a praise worthy commander. With top notch fighting ability and an expert at strategy she quickly made her mark amongst the student body.

Even with a hazy past her future couldn't be brighter and life would have been smooth and fulfilling if not for the 6.2 brick wall known as Xavier Azure, the 3rd prince of the Alliance who against all her expectations and preparations always proved himself to be her constant rival against everything.

It was almost to the point where even when unwanted both of them would end up competing against each other for even the smallest of things. Academies and competitions were a given but not even club activities (they were in different clubs) and cleaning duties were not spared.

Who could carry the most? Who played what role in the play? Whose windows were more shiny? Even the teachers known to encourage such competitions would become fed up with their constant bickerings.

But all that hair pulling finally saw a change when against all odds and interventions they were put in the same group in their final year of study. Against everyone's concern and the dean's fading hair they both decided to stick around to not be labelled as favoured.

Therefore having been placed in the pair teams of the same group they had to finally put their differences aside and learn to work together. Anyone who had ever read a story even remotely resembling romance can already guess as to where this story was going.

After surviving many hardships and various moments of bonding they finally came to appreciate the other and without even understanding how fell head over heels for each other. When everything finally seemed fine and the sky couldn't be more clear, disaster struck in the form of the prince's family finding out about their romance and demanding breaking using the pretext of never accepting a commoner into the family.

The prince, filled with love and overtaken by hormones, declared his heartfelt love to Merideth Infront of the whole empire before deciding to run away with her. This stunt which normally worked like a charm in bringing the couple closer forgot to take a teeny-tiny fact into account.

Merideth, like all other princesses, also had a hidden identity. She was actually a princess of the infamous Zerg race who up until this point had kept her identity hidden from all. And she, also being a fool in love, decided to cut off all her ties with her side of the family knowing fully well that the Zergs would also never welcome a human into their ranks.

The only part that she failed to calculate was that her disappearance actually caused the Zergs to in turn become enraged and resulted in them attacking the other races in search of her. Even after she went back to somehow solve the crisis the Zergs would not understand stubbornly sticking to their beliefs that it was actually the humans who had used some kind of charm and had seduced her in order for her to turn against her own race.

So in summary, because of two dumbass teens(young adults) who thought that life was like a fairytale and love could help them solve everything, the entire intergalactic peace was put to jeopardy eventually leading to several races regressing and many going extinct.

It was no wonder that the World Will of this world especially commissioned a system even at the price of losing its karma value just to have these two lovers not fall in love this time around.

If not for losing too much karma the World Will would have directly erased the two from existence. Which made sense because honestly their story was like a remake of Romeo and Juliet for all Emery could make sense of. If she was the world will she would be mad as hell too.
