Chapter 59
Chaos swallowed the village.
People ran in every direction, screaming, colliding, searching for shelter that kept collapsing around them. Houses crumbled one after another, fire licking the streets, smoke choking the sky.
Rayden sat in the middle of it all.
Unmoved.
Unshaken.
Unbothered.
The only reason he had not moved was Selene.
She looked completely focused on her battles, blades flashing as she carved through enemies, but Rayden knew better. Her attention never left him. Not even for a second.
It itched.
His fingers curled slowly into a fist.
It had been a long time since he killed someone.

He did not need justification. The fact that they were butchering villagers was enough. More than enough.
Still, Selene was watching.
