The white halls of Sector Five's medical chambers were quiet as Yugo, supported on both sides by Mikasa and Maya, stepped inside. The air was heavy with antiseptic and faint spiritual residue, a place meant for recovery—but today it felt burdened by unease.
Maya was the first to speak, calling out to Captain Shuba.
Before he could answer, another familiar presence emerged from one of the adjoining corridors.
Yuki froze when she saw them. Her expression shifted immediately, eyes locking onto Yugo.
She asked what had happened.
Yugo could only give a faint, tired smile. From what he'd been told, he had pushed himself far beyond what his body was meant to handle.
That was when Captain Shuba appeared.
Unlike usual, his expression was grave.
He told Yugo to follow him.
They were led into an empty medical room, sterile and silent. As Yugo was helped onto the bed, his ears caught fragments of hushed voices beyond the door—two nurses speaking in tense whispers.
Sentinels. Deaths. A traitor.
The words cut deeper than any wound.
Yugo turned his head slowly, his expression darkening as he looked toward Captain Shuba.
Shuba tried to dismiss it, but Yuki stopped him. They weren't children. They deserved the truth.
After a pause, Shuba spoke.
Two Sentinels had been killed the previous night.
The weight of those words settled heavily in the room.
Yugo barely had time to react before Shuba instructed him to stay still. He was still a patient. The rest were asked to leave—this time firmly.
Mikasa hesitated, but Yuki explained. The examination required complete focus.
Reluctantly, Maya and Mikasa stepped out.
Shuba prepared the anesthetic.
As Yugo felt consciousness slipping away, his thoughts drifted—not into darkness, but somewhere far deeper.
*****
When he opened his eyes again, he was standing in a vast field of green grass. A clear blue sky stretched endlessly overhead, warm sunlight brushing his skin. The calm felt unreal.
A voice spoke.
It welcomed him back.
Yugo turned, searching for its source. He asked who it was.
The voice sounded amused.
It reminded him—this presence had fought alongside him since the day he became a spiritualist.
Realization struck.
His sword spirit.
The reason they had never spoken before was simple. His subconscious mind had remained dormant, even during sleep. There had never been a doorway open between them.
Yugo glanced around, noticing the difference from before. Last time, there had been water—an endless ocean.
The spirit explained that this inner world changed with Yugo's emotions and state of mind.
As Yugo asked why the figure appeared only as light, the answer came gently.
Yugo was still suppressing himself.
He needed to open his mind.
When he did, the glow faded.
Before him stood a young man wearing a hakama and montsuki, red eyes calm and piercing. His hair—short, spiked, black streaked with white—shifted softly in the breeze.
Yugo stared.
He finally asked for his name.
The spirit spoke it.
At the same instant, Yugo's eyes snapped open in the real world.
*****
Mikasa gasped in relief.
Yugo was awake.
Captain Shuba stood nearby, his examination complete. No abnormalities. No lasting damage. Whatever had happened to Yugo, it hadn't left a physical trace.
Yuki smiled, clearly relieved.
Before anyone could say more, a messenger appeared, their voice echoing with urgency.
All Captain Commanders and Lieutenants were ordered to report to Sector One's central roof immediately.
Before questions could be asked, a pressure swept across the entire Spirit Corps Headquarters.
An overwhelming spiritual presence.
Yugo felt it instantly.
So did everyone else.
Without another word, Yugo and Yuki used Spirit Flash, vanishing alongside Shuba.
*****
They arrived atop Sector One's central structure to find nearly everyone already present. Captain Commanders. Lieutenants. Even Sentinel Homura had just arrived.
Yugo turned to Akira, demanding answers.
Akira only shook his head.
But the energy he felt… it was unmistakable.
Then the air split.
A massive crimson gate manifested in the sky, grotesque yet majestic. Two humanoid forms, sculpted from flesh and bone, stood fused to its sides, hauling it open with unnatural strength.
From within descended seven figures.
Cloaked in red, white, and black.
Faces hidden behind crimson glass masks.
They walked down steps formed of bone and sinew as though gravity itself bowed to their presence.
When they reached the roof, the gate vanished behind them.
Silence fell over the Spirit Corps.
Akira's voice broke it, low and tense.
They are well known among the older elite spiritualist.
The Hell Captains.
The living embodiment of death.
Yuki was the first to break the silence, disbelief sharp in her voice.
The Hell Captains.
Yugo felt the weight of the name before he fully understood it. He turned toward Akira, searching for answers.
Akira's gaze never left the seven figures standing before them.
They were a special task force, he explained—captains assigned not to the living world, but to the Hell Dimension itself. Enforcers. Wardens. Executors of balance where souls were judged and sealed.
Before Yugo could ask more, Sentinel Homura stepped forward, his expression composed, though the pressure in the air hadn't lessened.
He welcomed them formally, asking what business had brought such figures to the Spirit Corps Headquarters.
The one standing at the center—his presence calm yet commanding—answered.
They had come with a retrieval of a few things per the request of the Spirit god.
Akira narrowed his eyes instantly.
What exactly were they here to collect?
Another Hell Captain spoke, explaining that the time had not yet come—that they were waiting for an event to pass before acting.
Homura attempted to smooth the exchange, but Akira cut in sharply, his tone dark and unyielding. Dodging the question wasn't an answer.
One of the Hell Captains bristled at the interruption, calling Akira insolent for speaking over a superior.
The leader raised a hand, stopping him.
Akira was an old friend, he said calmly. There was no need for hostility.
Another stepped forward, voice lighter, almost nostalgic. It truly had been a long time.
Still, Akira pressed them.
Finally, one of the seven spoke plainly.
They had been sent to retrieve four individuals.
Yugo Sukishima.
Yuki Saragaki.
Maya Yumiko.
Mikasa.
The air went still.
Another Hell Captain scoffed, clearly unimpressed with the welcome they'd received.
Suzune stepped forward, irritation slipping into her voice. With traitors still at large, the Spirit Corps had little time for theatrics. She asked permission to leave.
Homura granted it without hesitation.
One by one, the Captain Commanders and Lieutenants departed, leaving only a small group behind—Akira, Yugo, Yuki, Shinji, Teja, and Homura.
Only then did Homura speak again, his curiosity finally showing.
He asked about the masks. The cloaks. The dramatic entrance.
One of the Hell Captains sighed lightly, agreeing it was unnecessary now.
Another gave a single command.
In an instant, the crimson cloaks vanished, dissolving into nothing. What remained were seven figures clad in black uniforms accented with red—jackets cinched with crimson sashes, hakama flowing neatly, boots marked with sharp red lines.
They looked less like monsters of legend—and more like elite executioners.
Introductions followed, one by one.
June, their leader, stood calmly with his sword resting across his back. His golden eyes held decades of experience, his expression unreadable despite the years that had passed.
Annie stood beside him, tall and confident, her twin ponytails swaying slightly as she observed the group with sharp green eyes.
Zeke's red gaze carried weight, his presence heavy with authority earned through long years of service.
King appeared smaller than expected, violet eyes sharp beneath smooth purple hair, his posture relaxed but alert.
Zane smiled faintly, pink hair flowing freely, his demeanor deceptively gentle.
Martha, composed and dignified, radiated a quiet power that spoke of wisdom rather than force.
And Aries—scarred, weathered, ancient—stood like a monument to survival itself.
Akira exhaled slowly.
He addressed June directly, remarking that it had been twenty years since they last stood on the same side.
Homura added that none of them had aged a day.
Zeke glanced around the headquarters with mild boredom, asking if they were going to stand around or actually be shown inside.
Homura smiled faintly.
He gestured for them to follow.
And with that, the Hell Captains began walking through the Spirit Corps Headquarters—their presence alone enough to unsettle the balance of worlds.
Shinji exhaled quietly, adjusting his stance as the tension finally eased.
"Well then," he said, turning away, "I suppose I'll take my leave."
Teja followed suit, already lost in thought. "I still have research to finish. We'll speak later."
With that, both men departed, their footsteps fading into the vast halls of the Spirit Corps Headquarters.
The remaining group continued deeper inside, the Hell Captains moving with an air of detached curiosity, their gazes scanning every corridor and structure.
Martha was the first to speak, her eyes drifting across the architecture. The buildings were familiar in form, yet subtly different from what she remembered.
"The design has changed," she noted calmly. "Refined, but restrained."
Aries snorted, arms crossed. "Too bad the officers haven't changed. Weak. Poorly trained."
Homura chuckled dryly. "They're not prodigies or monsters like some people. Most learn the hard way."
Akira's patience finally thinned. He stopped walking.
"Enough," he said. "Explain this event you keep talking about."
King tilted his head slightly. "We don't know the future. SK never shows it directly."
He paused before continuing.
"But he did say this—the King of Darkness will be revealed… and the Chosen One will awaken."
Akira's expression hardened. "Who is the King of Darkness? And who's the Chosen One?"
June answered without hesitation. "The King of Darkness is the god of hollow spirits."
A brief silence followed.
"As for the Chosen One," June continued, "even we don't know."
Zeke smirked faintly. "Guess that's what makes it fun. We'll find out eventually."
They soon arrived at a chamber clearly prepared in advance—clean floors, polished pillars, and a layout designed for high-ranking occupants.
Annie glanced around approvingly. "So this is where we'll be staying."
June nodded. "Seems that way. It'll do."
Homura clasped his hands behind his back. "We'll return in three hours to discuss your mission."
June turned slightly, golden eyes shifting toward Yugo.
"There's nothing to discuss," he said calmly. "But I'll be borrowing yugo."
Yugo blinked. "Wait—me?"
June smiled faintly. "Yes. You too, Zeke."
Zeke cracked his neck. "Already on it."
Before anyone could react, June seized Yugo by the shoulder. In a sudden burst of motion, June and Zeke launched skyward, vanishing toward the distant forest.
Homura watched them go, frowning. "I wonder what they want with him."
Akira folded his arms. "Doesn't matter. Yuki—if you're worried, follow them."
Yuki didn't hesitate. "I was already planning to, Captain."
She vanished in a flash of spiritual light.
*****
June and Zeke descended hard into the forest—too hard.
The ground shook slightly as they landed, branches snapping around them.
June straightened, glancing around. "I thought we landed in a forest."
Zeke squinted. "Then what's this supposed to be?"
The area was littered with containment seals, spiritual instruments, and a restrained corrupted spiritualist—its body bound and unmoving.
Before either could say more, Teja stormed toward them, fury written plainly across his face.
"Are you insane?" he snapped. "Are you trying to ruin my research?"
Zeke raised both hands. "Whoa—easy there. Sorry, sorry. But what exactly is all this?"
June sighed. "Doesn't matter. Let's relocate before we make it worse."
Yugo struggled in June's grip. "Would you please stop dragging me around?"
Zeke grinned at Teja. "See ya, Einstein."
Teja clenched his fists as they lifted off once more.
"How annoying…"
The forest fell silent again—yet the unease they left behind lingered, heavy and unresolved.
*****
June, Zeke, and Yugo arrived at a wide clearing deep within the forest. Moonlight filtered through the broken canopy, illuminating the barren ground beneath their feet.
Yugo steadied himself and narrowed his eyes.
"What exactly do you want with me?"
Zeke grinned. "We're testing your skills, kid."
June nodded in agreement. "That's right. By the time you come with us to Hell, you'll need to be ready for the training waiting there."
Yugo stiffened. "So… in short, you want to train me."
June's gaze sharpened. "Exactly. Now draw your sword."
*****
Three hours passed in relentless combat.
When it finally ended, Yugo stood barely upright, his breathing ragged, his muscles screaming in protest. His uniform was torn, his body pushed beyond its limits.
June and Zeke, however, looked completely unfazed.
June crossed his arms. "You did better than expected, kid."
Zeke nodded approvingly. "Yeah. After training in Hell, your strength might rival a Sentinel."
Yugo glared weakly at them. "You guys… are monsters."
June allowed himself a faint smile. Without warning, he hoisted Yugo over his shoulder.
"We're done here. Let's head back."
"Hey!" Yugo protested. "Stop carrying me like a dog!"
*****
They returned to the chambers moments later.
Martha looked up as they arrived. "Oh? You're back already."
Annie frowned. "What exactly were you doing out there?"
Before June could answer, Akira and Homura arrived.
"You just got back as well?" Homura asked.
June nodded casually. "Yeah."
A second later, Yuki appeared—breathing heavily, clearly exhausted.
Yugo stared at her. "Yuki… what the hell have you been doing?"
She leaned forward, catching her breath. "Trying to find you."
Yugo looked away awkwardly. "Sorry… I guess."
Akira exhaled sharply. "Can we go inside now and start the discussion?"
King smirked. "What's got you so worked up?"
Akira's eyes narrowed. "King, don't try to piss me off."
Without another word, they all turned and entered the chamber together.
The moment everyone took their seats, the atmosphere in the chamber grew strangely tense.
King leaned back in his chair, shuffling a deck of cards.
"Alright," he said calmly. "All or nothing.
Yuki smirked. "I bet ten chips."
Homura followed immediately. "Same."
Akira glanced at his cards once and sighed. "I fold."
Annie placed her hand down. "I'm out too."
Yugo pushed his chips forward. "Ten."
King raised an eyebrow. "Alright. Reveal."
June turned his cards over first. "Straight flush."
Homura's eyes widened. "What? No way."
June reached for the chips. "Pay up."
"Hold on," Yugo said casually. "I haven't shown mine yet."
June paused. "You're saying you can beat that?"
Yugo smirked and tossed his cards onto the table.
"A royal flush."
The room went silent.
Then—
Everyone gasped.
June stared at the cards, stunned. "…I really lost."
"You shouldn't underestimate me when it comes to poker," Yugo replied.
Martha stood and clapped her hands once. "Alright. Enough games. Clean up."
Aries crossed his arms. "This feels far too relaxed, considering the situation."
"Come on," June said lightly. "Even warriors need rest."
Zeke raised a drink. "Then let's drink."
The night passed in laughter, conversation, and exhaustion.
Morning sunlight spilled across the rooftops.
Yugo stepped outside, rubbing his eyes, when a familiar voice greeted him.
"Morning, Yugo. You're up early."
"Oh—Captain," Yugo said. "It's you."
Akira stood at the edge of the roof. "You wanted an early start."
June stepped out moments later, yawning. "You guys are already awake?"
"We're higher-ranked spiritualists," Akira replied. "It's natural."
June glanced around. "Where's Homura?"
"He left before sunrise," Akira said. "He woke me up on the way out."
"Last night was fun," June added.
Yugo shook his head. "A bit too much for me."
"You'll get used to it," June laughed.
*****
Deep beneath Spirit Corps Headquarters, the underground elder chamber lay silent.
Captain Commander Sunny descended the stairs, his footsteps echoing. When he reached the council barracks, his eyes narrowed.
The elders lay motionless. The air felt wrong.
"So it was just as I thought," Sunny murmured. "He came for something."
He moved quickly to the central item vault.
As he arrived, a figure stepped out.
Sentinel Yosuke.
"You've come a long way," Sunny said calmly.
"Are you accusing me of murder?" Yosuke asked, smiling.
"I'm not suspecting," Sunny replied. "I'm confirming."
Yosuke tilted his head. "How long have you known about me"
"Since the moment you first opened your eyes."
Sunny drew his blade and struck—
—and suddenly found himself behind yosuke back to back.
"…What?" Sunny froze.
Yosuke smirked.
Sunny attacked again. The world shifted. He was back where he started.
"What trick is this?" Sunny demanded. "And when did you draw your sword?"
"I drew it when you did," Yosuke replied.
"You lie," Sunny said
"I being truly honest."
Yosuke's voice grew colder.
"My sword spirit controls perception—memory, thought, even physical awareness and physical construct."
"But your Sword Spirit is a light type",Sunny said
"That's what I let all of you believe
A sharp pain bloomed across Sunny's chest as a cut appeared and started to bleed
"…So I can't win," Sunny realized.
Yosuke nodded. "You finally understand the differencein our powers."
"LIGHT SPEAR."
A massive construct of light formed—
—but was stopped instantly by a wall of flames.
At the same time yugo regained the memories lost a year ago
Akira:Yugo what's wrong
Yugo:I have to get to Spirit Hill, that's where he will be
As the flames decipated homura stepped forward.
"You're troublesome as always, Yosuke."
"I expected you," Yosuke replied calmly.
A gust of wind erupted.
Yuko appeared beside him. "Everything's ready."
"Sorry but it looks like i have to leave," Yosuke said.
Homura launched a massive attack—but the two vanished, and the vault collapsed in the aftermath.
"…Damn it," Homura muttered.
*****
Aboveground, four distortions tore open.
Tanaka stepped out before Yugo, Akira, and June.
"It's you," Yugo said.
"I'll handle this," Akira said firmly. "You go to Spirit Hill."
June cracked his knuckles. "Actually, I'll take him you go help the others."
Akira nodded. "Don't die."
Yugo ran.
Tanaka lunged after him—
—but June appeared in front of him and slammed him into the wall.
"Your opponent is me."
Zeke laughed nearby. "Finally."
*****
As yugo arrives at spirit hill .
he saw at the center standing Konami, beside a massive human-sized incubation pod.
"I knew I'd find you here," Yugo said coldly. "Right, Yosuke?"
A gust of wind answered him.
Yosuke and Yuko appeared.
"It looks like yove regained your memories," Yosuke said.
"I hope you didn't think you could seal my memory forever,"yugo said calmly
Yosuke smiled. "No,In fact i planned it."
Yugo drew his sword.
"Then today, everything ends."
