Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: The Ancestral Secret Recipe Worth a Fortune

What a pity! It can still be used now, but only if the enemy is standing in the northwest-northwest direction, or if you lure them in that direction. But what fool would be so stupid as to stand in the northwest-northwest and get hit by your sword?

Anyway, it's a gain.

"Why is it only flying in the northwest-northwest direction? There must be something strange here! Could this little sword find some treasure, and that treasure is in that northwest-northwest direction? Hmm, very likely!"

Lu Chen wanted to keep going in the northwest-northwest direction; maybe he really could find some treasure! But after thinking about it, he gave up. That would probably be thousands or even tens of thousands of miles, right?

Forget it, I'll see another opportunity.

After dismissing that thought, Lu Chen went back and took a shower.

Then, he received a call from Shangguan Bei.

Shangguan Bei sounded very excited, saying she had found all the ointments and asked when Lu Chen could come over to help her treat her leg. This news pleased Lu Chen, as it allowed Shangguan Bei to stand up again.

He said, "I'll go tomorrow morning."

"Okay!" Shangguan Bei said, "I'll have the driver contact you tomorrow morning and have him bring you over."

After hanging up, Lu Chen picked up the small gourds containing unknown pills, wanting to investigate what kind of medicine they were. However, he decided not to open the gourd containing the small venomous snake for now; it wouldn't suffocate, no rush. He was still wary of the incredibly fast-moving snake; he had almost been bitten the first time he opened it.

There were three gourds containing pills in total.

One gourd contained black pills with a foul, fishy odor. At first, Lu Chen thought it was some kind of highly poisonous medicine, but after testing it with his medical divine ability, his eyes lit up. It wasn't poison at all; it was a medicine that could treat various bone injuries, called "Bone-Changing Pill."

The ingredients were also deciphered using the Divine Healer's abilities: over twenty kinds of Chinese herbs, bone fragments from some animals, and venom from a snake called the Jade Green Snake.

The Jade Green Snake... could it be that kind of venomous snake?

One gourd contained a white pill with an extremely sweet and strong fragrance. At first, it felt pleasant, but after a while, it made him dizzy, and even caused his blood to become unusually active, along with a strong arousal.

Damn, is it an aphrodisiac?

Lu Chen also used his Divine Healer's abilities to investigate and was shocked. It was more than just an aphrodisiac; it was a hallucinogen a hundred times stronger than ketamine, methamphetamine, or heroin! This stuff was extremely harmful. Lu Chen almost wanted to throw it away, but after thinking about it, he resisted. Although it was harmful, keeping it might be useful later.

The third gourd contained a pale green pill with a light fragrance. These pills, called "Great Soul-Nourishing Pills," are for replenishing vital energy. Their effects are similar to the Dragon Vitality Elixir, but significantly more potent, and they also have a calming and tranquilizing effect, practically made for cultivators.

These "Great Soul-Nourishing Pills" also contain the venom of the Jade Green Serpent.

These three pills are incredibly valuable, possibly even exceeding the value of a pile of pure gold jewelry.

Of course, what's even more valuable is the data obtained from examining these three pills using the medical god's supernatural abilities! This data, the prescriptions, includes which ingredients were used, how they were synthesized, how they were refined, and so on.

With this data, those pills can be made!

Lu Chen knew the value of this data; it was like a priceless ancestral secret recipe passed down only to sons! If this data were used to mass-produce "Bone-Changing Pills" and "Great Soul-Nourishing Pills," one can imagine the enormous profits that would be generated!

After thinking for a moment, Lu Chen copied the data for these two pills onto a piece of paper. As for that hallucinogenic drug, forget it, it's harmful! Ready-made pills are fine; I can use them to harm those who harm others later!

Lu Chen planned to hand over the data for both pills to Shangguan Bei, including the pills from the two small gourds and the little venomous snake called the Jade Green Snake.

After all, although he possessed the refining method, the conditions didn't allow it.

Shangguan Bei's side was different. That Flying Eagle Biotechnology Company was absolutely powerful! They had everything; developing these two pills would be a piece of cake.

Moreover, Shangguan Bei definitely wouldn't treat him unfairly. The profit sharing might make him rich overnight. Then, he'd be successful, recruit a bunch of experts, return to Jiaying City, and see what that brat Wan Qian dared to do to him! Damn it, if you want to marry me, you'd better behave yourself. You stay home to have kids and raise children, while I go out and chase girls!

Thinking this, Lu Chen felt incredibly satisfied.

The next morning, a call came in from an unknown number.

Lu Chen immediately recognized it as a call from the driver sent by Shangguan Bei. However, upon answering, he was slightly taken aback, hearing a very sweet and delicate voice: "Is this Mr. Lu Chen?"

Lu Chen replied yes.

"Good morning, Mr. Lu. My name is Guo Xiutian. I'm the driver sent by Miss Shangguan to pick you up. Where are you? I'll come pick you up," the girl said politely.

Lu Chen immediately perked up. This was really something! Shangguan Bei had actually sent a beautiful woman to pick me up.

He had already returned to Dong Qingqing's place the night before, so he gave her the address and went downstairs to wait.

Soon, a bright yellow Lamborghini pulled up beside Lu Chen.

Wow, a luxury car!

The girl driving, Guo Xiutian, made Lu Chen pause in surprise. She looked to be around twenty years old, petite and charming, very cute—the typical girl next door.

Once in the car, Lu Chen remarked, "Little sister, you're quite something! So young and already working, and as a driver no less. It must be tough, right?"

"It's not tough at all. Plus, the pay is good, and Miss Shangguan treats us very well. We're quite happy at work," Guo Xiutian replied sweetly as she drove.

"You guys?" Lu Chen was taken aback. "Did Xiao Bei hire many drivers?"

"Uh, we're not drivers. There are seven of us girls; we're a bodyguard team, specifically to protect Miss Shangguan. We only started working a week ago!" Guo Xiutian said. "Miss Shangguan specifically asked me to pick you up, but I'm not her personal driver."

"Oh..." Lu Chen was even more puzzled. He couldn't help but turn to scrutinize Guo Xiutian. Such a petite girl, a bodyguard? Could she even fight?

Guo Xiutian smiled faintly, "If Mr. Lu doesn't believe me, we can spar anytime! I've heard you're quite skilled, is that right? Please give me your guidance!"

"Alright!" Lu Chen chuckled, though he was still somewhat skeptical. It wasn't that he didn't believe girls couldn't do martial arts, but Guo Xiutian was far too petite; she didn't seem like a bodyguard at all!

The Lamborghini passed the street where the Moon's Tooth Pastry Shop was located. Lu Chen hadn't planned to stop and check it out; he'd simply passed by without entering. But as he passed the shop entrance, he was suddenly startled to see several thugs wearing black vests and covered in tattoos crowding the entrance.

They were clearly causing trouble. They'd forcibly dragged several renovation workers out and even slapped a shop employee named Zhou Defa. Zhou Defa was a young man in his early twenties who hadn't been there long. The other employees, apprentices, and pastry chefs were all working at the hotel, so he stayed behind to mind the shop.

He was quite loyal to Moon Fang, and seeing those thugs smashing things in the shop, he got angry and grabbed a broom to beat them up. However, he ended up being knocked to the ground instead.

"Stop the car!" Lu Chen quickly said.

Guo Xiutian obediently pulled over immediately.

Lu Chen pushed open the car door and got out, saying angrily, "Damn it, where did this bunch of thugs come from again, daring to cause trouble in my shop? Seriously, I'll tear you all to pieces!"

With that, he strode over.

Upon reaching the shop entrance, he saw that the interior was a complete mess, with renovation materials scattered everywhere.

Zhou Defa, his face bruised and swollen, ran over excitedly: "Brother Chen, you're just in time! Damn it, these bastards causing trouble, they're bullying us!"

Then, the thugs swaggered over. The leader, pointing a thumbs-up and then backwards at his nose, arrogantly said, "I'm called Knife. Are you the owner here?"

Lu Chen resisted the urge to punch him in the face. After all, this was his shop. Although he wanted to tear this arrogant guy to pieces, he had to consider the consequences.

He nodded calmly and said, "I guess I'm the owner here. Knife, why can't you talk things out? Why are you resorting to violence? What's going on?"

Knife chuckled menacingly and said, "What right do you have to tell me to talk to you properly? A small-time pastry shop owner dares to talk to me like that? Who do you think you are?"

This made Lu Chen even more annoyed.

Zhou Defa quickly recounted what had happened. Apparently, these guys ran a business on the third floor. The renovations were disturbing them, so they stormed down, smashed a lot of things in the shop, and dragged the renovation workers out, preventing them from working.

When Zhou Defa tried to reason with them, he was beaten up.

Lu Chen was even angrier after hearing this. "You're bothering your neighbors! Even if it's disturbing you, you don't have to make such a scene! Why can't you just talk things out?"

The guy with the knife spoke first, saying menacingly:

"That's right, that's what happened. Now you've smashed things, beaten people, and I feel a little better. But you have to compensate me for my losses. You disturbed my upstairs customers; several of them got annoyed and left. I lost a lot of business! Including emotional distress compensation, 30,000 yuan will do. Also, don't do any more renovations in the future, you son of a bitch!"

A cold smile appeared on Lu Chen's lips; he could no longer contain his anger.

"Damn it, I'm young and hot-blooded! Did you even check the almanac before going out today to provoke me like this?"

Lu Chen was willing to hold back his temper for the sake of the shop. He was fine with reasonable arguments; he'd even accept some compensation, since the renovation noise was quite loud. But now you're hitting me, extorting me, and telling me not to renovate! You're too arrogant!

And you're even swearing?

"Damn it, you're arrogant? I'm even arrogant! Enough is enough!"

He smiled slightly: "Brother Daozi, I'm really sorry for disturbing you! Don't worry, you won't have to worry about our renovation anymore. But, 30,000 yuan in compensation is too little, isn't it? I think you should ask for at least 300,000 to 500,000 yuan. I'd feel bad if I didn't give you that much!"

Daozi was stunned. What did this mean? Is there really such an idiot?
