I watched in anxiety and worry. Was Allen not going to finish her off? What if she gets up again? What if she one-ups him? I tried to scream from where I was but I knew that there was no way he was going to hear me.
I pressed my forehead against the smooth wall of the barrier, my chest heaving as I watched Allen fight within himself. The hesitation only lasted a fraction of a second, but it felt like a lifetime.
In a split second, Allen delivered the last blow. Hera's body went limp immediately. It wouldn't take a genius to realize that she was gone for good. Allen stood over her for a second, then slowly knelt down in front of what was left of her.
The magic barrier that had kept me back disappeared, and I didn't hesitate. I ran toward him right away. Before I could reach him he spoke without looking up.
"Don't come any closer."
