Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: The trail is exposed, the murderous intention has arrived

"Pi Pichu"

Pichu closed its eyes, wiggled its ears, and pointed its tiny paw towards the southeast.

"You're saying there's a large mass of electricity not far in that direction?"

Upon understanding Pichu's meaning, Adrian was stunned.

Pichu's Ability is 'Lightning Rod', giving it a stronger perception and guiding ability for Electric-type energy.

It just so happened that it had eaten an ability candy earlier in the day, causing its Lightning Rod to break through, which is why it vaguely sensed something.

"Tonight, the moon is bright and the stars are sparse. There shouldn't be any thunderclouds nearby, right?"

Adrian looked out at the sea. Although there were occasional sea breezes, it was generally calm.

"Could it be…"

Suddenly, Adrian's heart stirred, and he thought of a possibility.

A large mass of electricity isn't just thunderclouds. If a large group of Electric-type pokémon gathered together, it might also be possible, right?

"The illegal fishing vessel is very likely over there!"

Adrian's eyes flickered, his heart torn.

Reason told Adrian that he shouldn't get involved in this mess.

Because illegal fishing vessels are highly likely to be manned by criminals, and once encountered, conflicts are very likely to arise, even posing a risk to life.

But emotion told Adrian that if he turned a blind eye, many more Chinchou would be injured, disabled, or even killed.

After a brief internal struggle, emotion still triumphed over reason, and Adrian decided to go and see.

But deep down, Adrian also kept telling himself: "I'll just take a look from afar. Once I confirm the location of the illegal fishing vessel, I'll immediately contact the police station to handle it."

After setting his bottom line for action, Adrian released Gyarados and rode on it, while little Pichu lay on his shoulder.

"Gyarados, let's go over there and take a look! Remember, keep quiet!"

Adrian patted the two pokémon and warned, "Fly over stealthily, take a few glances from afar. No fighting."

Gyarados nodded and began to manipulate the airflow, gently and slowly ascending.

Only after flying several hundred meters high, becoming a tiny speck, did it fly in the direction Pichu indicated.

Fortunately, with the Float Stone, Gyarados's weight was greatly reduced, so even with Adrian riding on it, it could still fly at a certain speed.

However, in terms of flexibility, Gyarados was still too weak, and its large size made it almost comparable to a hot air balloon.

After flying for dozens of nautical miles, Blue Lagoon was only an indistinct silhouette.

At this point, Adrian finally spotted a suspicious vessel, dozens of meters long, with huge nets, as well as specialized equipment like trawl winches and trawl doors.

On the deck, he could vaguely see several crew members directing pokémon to work.

Click, click, click!

The fishing vessel was pulling in its nets.

As the nets were continuously reeled in, a huge light began to flash beneath the sea surface, flickering like the light on a firefly's tail.

Before long, a large group of Chinchou were hoisted up.

Some of them were still struggling, continuously attacking the nets with Electric-type moves.

It was a pity that these nets were clearly specially made, with good anti-electric effects, so everything the Chinchou did was in vain, a futile struggle.

As the large net opened, this group of Chinchou were directly dropped from several meters high into the ship's hold.

The ship's hold contained a large amount of seawater, but it seemed to have added a potion that could make pokémon fall unconscious.

After the Chinchou fell into the ship's hold, they quickly lost the ability to resist and passed out.

"This net's harvest is good! There must be over a hundred Chinchou, which means at least five or six Deep Sea Scales. If we're lucky, ten is possible."

On the deck, a burly, fierce-looking middle-aged man laughed heartily, then encouraged the crew: "Everyone, put in more effort, process this net of Chinchou as quickly as possible, and then let's try to catch a few more nets before dawn. Once we sell the Deep Sea Scales, we'll all share the money."

"Alright! Let's catch a few more nets!"

The crew members working on the deck responded one after another, all full of vigor.

Because illegal fishing like theirs yields very high profits and is extremely lucrative.

Of course, the prerequisite is not to be caught.

Once caught, it's over.

"Hmm~"

Looking at the bustling deck, the middle-aged captain was very satisfied.

Behind the captain stood a pokémon similar in appearance to Poliwag, but with stronger arms, like a personal bodyguard.

It was the Water/Fighting-type pokémon — Poliwrath!

In mid-air, Adrian saw everything and dialed the police station again.

But just then, a machine on the fishing vessel suddenly lit up red and emitted a "beep-boop, beep-boop" sound.

In the cockpit, a crew member in a sailor suit's expression changed drastically: "There's a phone signal!!!"

This machine was their alarm system; it could not only block phone signals within a radius of several kilometers but also provide warning alerts.

The crew member first glanced at the radar, finding no abnormalities on the sea surface.

"The radar isn't reacting? That means the other party might be coming from the sky!"

The crew member's gaze sharpened as he looked up at the sky.

There were a few thick clouds not far away, but no one knew what was hidden behind them.

So he quickly ran to the top of the cockpit, only to find a Skarmory napping.

"I told you to keep watch here, but you're Slacking Off?"

The crew member was furious and wanted to kick Skarmory hard.

But remembering that Skarmory was the captain's pokémon, the crew member could only suppress his anger and wake it up.

"Caw~"

Skarmory woke up, and under the crew member's command, reluctantly looked towards the nearby clouds.

Bird pokémon naturally have excellent eyesight, and this Skarmory's Ability was 'Keen Eye', so its vision was clearly even better.

The mere moisture from the clouds could not obstruct its detection.

"Caw~"

Skarmory let out a strange cry and flapped its wings, taking off directly.

"There really is someone!"

The crew member secretly thought it was bad.

And the captain on the deck, after learning the situation, also had a grim expression.

Hiding stealthily in the sky and even emitting a phone signal, it was pretty clear whether the other party was friend or foe.

"Everyone, don't panic yet. You all continue fishing. I'll go meet him!"

The captain first calmed the sailors, then looked up in Adrian's direction, his eyes filled with murderous intent: "Dare to ruin my business? Then I'll take your life!"

Recalling the Poliwrath behind him, the captain threw out two more poké balls.

Red light flashed, and two pokémon, one black and one gray, appeared.

The black pokémon was a large bird, entirely black, with white feathers on its face and chest, red feathers on the inside of its wings, and a large top hat on its head.

The gray pokémon was composed of three identical parts, with multiple parts resembling horseshoe-shaped Magnets on its body.

The captain leaped up, rode on Skarmory, and soared into the sky, saying fiercely, "Honchkrow! Magneton! Let's go kill them!"

Upon hearing this, the three pokémon immediately charged towards Adrian's location in the sky with murderous intent.

"This sea area actually has no signal at all?"

Adrian in mid-air looked unwilling.

He didn't know that the fishing vessel had a signal jamming device; he only knew that he couldn't make a phone call at all.

And when Adrian put down the phone, he immediately saw three pokémon rapidly approaching from the ship.

"Oh no! We've been discovered!"

Adrian's expression changed drastically, feeling as if he had fallen into an ice cave.
