Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: Manaphy's Prank

"Mana~"

Manaphy, hiding behind a reef, hadn't expected to see Adrian again so soon.

Ever since it escorted Adrian and the Chinchou to Blue Lagoon, it had found an underwater cave to rest.

Because it had healed too many Chinchou with its Sing last time, its energy consumption was quite high, and it needed to recover promptly.

But before it could even wake up naturally, it was awakened by the loud commotion of Gyarados and Pichu's Electric-type moves.

"Mana~"

Seeing that Adrian seemed to be sleeping with his eyes closed, Manaphy felt a bit bored, so it swam to where the little Pichu and Gyarados were, observing them stealthily.

On the shore, the little Pichu continuously unleashed newly mastered Electric-type moves, electric arcs zizzing, and occasionally thunder rumbling through the sky.

Gyarados only occasionally used Thunderbolt, but its huge body was submerged in the seawater, constantly twisting and stirring up waves, completely resembling a fierce dragon.

"Mana~"

Seeing this, Manaphy suddenly had an idea and a mischievous thought arose.

Its two tentacles on its head pointed at Gyarados and Pichu respectively, and then their spherical tips emitted a hazy glow.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Two beams of light struck Gyarados and Pichu respectively, and their bodies instantly froze, as if time had stopped.

Not long after, when the two pokémon regained their ability to move, they were both startled, even a bit bewildered.

"Aoooh~"

From Pichu's perspective, it felt as if it had become a giant, and everything else had become extremely tiny.

Most importantly, it saw 'itself', a tiny yellow-skinned mouse wriggling on the ground, like a Caterpie.

Pichu let out a cry, but its voice was no longer soft and cute; instead, it was a roar like muffled thunder, rough and violent.

Pichu curiously examined itself, only then discovering with surprise that its body seemed to have transformed into the appearance of its big brother, Gyarados.

"Gulu~"

Among the reef piles on the coast, several Krabby were foraging.

When they saw 'little Pichu', they immediately showed fear and scurried away in a panic.

"Aoooh~"

Seeing this, little Pichu suddenly felt that this wasn't bad at all.

In its original body, it was just a tiny one; anyone who saw it would look down on it, or even actively provoke and bully it.

But now it had become a super giant; everyone who saw it would have to lower their eyes submissively, not daring to provoke it, and some pokémon didn't even dare to look directly at it.

Majestic!

It was simply too majestic!

"Aoooh~"

Pichu roared again, triumphantly.

It felt terrifyingly strong now!

Contrary to Pichu's perception, Gyarados's situation was not so good.

After regaining consciousness, it was surprised that it had clearly been in the sea just now, so why had it suddenly run ashore?

It wanted to swim back into the sea, but found that what was originally just a few steps now left it half-dead with exhaustion, barely wriggling a few meters.

Just then, from a tree in the forest, a pokémon jumped out, mostly purple, with beige insides of its ears, face, belly, soles of its feet, and tip of its tail, and the tip of its tail resembled a hand.

It was the Normal-type pokémon—Aipom!

"Jiji~"

Seeing 'Gyarados' wriggling on the ground, Aipom immediately burst into laughter on the tree, mocking it.

This Pichu is crazy!

"Pi~"

Seeing this little monkey dare to mock it, Gyarados immediately let out a fierce roar, only to find that the sound it made was very soft and cute.

Gyarados's eyes widened, and it suddenly realized something was wrong.

It looked down at itself and indeed found that it had transformed from a majestic and muscular 'big guy' into a playful and adorable 'little cutie'.

At this moment, Gyarados felt like the sky had fallen!

"Jiji~"

Watching 'Pichu' get angry, Aipom was even more amused.

Because 'Pichu' trying to make a fierce expression looked utterly ridiculous.

You, a Pichu, want to scare whom?

You can't scare anyone!!!

Seeing that 'Pichu' seemed to want to attack it, Aipom immediately made a move to attack, and 'Pichu' was instantly startled.

"Jiji Jiji"

Aipom was even more amused by this.

Finally, 'Pichu' waddled away, sulking!

"Mana Mana"

Manaphy, watching this comical scene, found it so interesting that it clapped its hands happily, its smiling eyes like crescent moons.

"Pi Pichu"

Faced with this miraculous phenomenon, 'Gyarados' could only seek help from Adrian.

"Hmm?"

When 'Pichu' came over, Adrian was also confused: "Pichu, why are you wriggling on the ground like a Caterpie?"

"Pi Pichu"

'Pichu' had little tears in its eyes, feeling bitter!

I don't want to wriggle, but I can't walk!!!

"Pi Pichu"

'Pichu' cried out, pointing at itself, then pointing at the triumphant Gyarados swimming and frolicking freely in the sea.

This matter was a bit complicated, and Adrian didn't quite understand, but he still recalled Gyarados.

"Aoooh~"

Learning that its trainer was calling, 'Gyarados' immediately swam over happily, even excitedly bumping into Adrian's arms.

"Ah? No—"

Adrian was scared out of his wits.

Gyarados bumping into its trainer—besides Super Ash and Elite Bruno, who could withstand that?

Anyway, Adrian felt he definitely couldn't withstand it!

So Adrian quickly took out a poké ball and recalled the 'enthusiastic' Gyarados. As Gyarados was recalled to its poké ball, Pichu and Gyarados finally returned to normal.

"Pi~"

Seeing itself back in its original body, Pichu felt a pang of loss.

It was a little runt again!

Immediately after, Adrian released Gyarados again, and after some questioning, he was shocked.

"This situation is—Heart Swap?"

Adrian's eyes flickered, deep in thought.

In the game, Heart Swap is a move that swaps all stat changes with the opponent.

But in reality, it has different effects.

But none of this is the most important!

The most important thing is that this move can only be mastered by Manaphy and Magearna.

Magearna is a special artificial pokémon, naturally not found in the Johto region.

Thus, there is only one truth!

"Manaphy, where are you?"

Adrian suddenly scrambled up and shouted loudly towards the sea: "The changes to Gyarados and Pichu just now, you did that, didn't you?"

Seeing the prank was over, Manaphy was a bit disappointed, but when Adrian's shouts rang out, it immediately shrank its head.

It was seen through by the victim at a glance?

"Mana Mana"

Manaphy pouted, also looking curious.

Why did this young man know so much about it?

Whether it was Sing or Heart Swap, it shouldn't be the only pokémon that could master them, right?

Then why was it always seen through whenever it used them?

Its tentacles glowed again, carefully sensing the emotions of Adrian, Pichu, and Gyarados. After confirming they held no ill will towards it, Manaphy finally revealed half its face from behind the reef.

"Mana~"
