Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 -- After school shadows

The last bell rang, echoing through the hallways like a quiet exhale.

Students shot up from their seats as the teacher said with a cheerful smile,

"Class dismissed. See you all tomorrow!"

Saino packed his bag calmly, his movements slow and composed.

So school ends here, he thought, slipping the strap over his shoulder.

He stepped into the hallway.

The corridor buzzed with noise—students chatting loudly, planning their evenings, teasing each other. Gossip floated through the air like static.

But Saino walked straight through it all, untouched by the chaos, his expression silent and unreadable.

He crossed the school gate—alone, as always.

---

⭐ Yagami's Crowd

Back near the entrance, Yagami was completely surrounded by a group of girls.

Being the most popular—and most handsome—boy in school, it wasn't unusual.

"Yagami, are you free today? Let's hang out!"

"I have movie tickets! Come with me!"

"I'm free too! Let's go somewhere together!"

Every girl had a different plan—shopping, games, movies.

All of them wanted his time.

Yagami smiled politely, but his answer didn't change:

"Sorry, girls. I'm really busy today. No plans. See you tomorrow!"

He waved casually as he walked away.

The girls froze in disappointment.

Their whispers filled the air.

Suddenly one girl smirked.

"Hey… I have Yagami's phone number."

"What?! Give it to us!"

"Please!"

"Share it!!"

She grinned.

"Of course… but it will not cost free .

Then a moments later we see her hand was full of money.

And the girl were seeing the phone number page

As she collected the money , her mind drifted to an earlier moment—

when she approached Yagami, pretending she needed 'school information.'

Yagami, being friendly, had smiled and given her his number without hesitation.

That was a stupid excuse… she thought now.

But it made me plenty of money.

She smirked proudly.

---

A shy girl who was passing from there came to her snd approache her afer hearing all those timidly.

"Umm… do you have Saino's phone number too?

"Saino?" the girl blinked.

"No one has his number except Yagami. He barely talks to anyone. Why do you want it?"

The shy girl instantly blushed.

"N-nothing important!"

More girls joined in.

"Saino is also very hot … but his personality is totally opposite of Yagami's."

"I've never seen him smile."

Another said "Yeah. He's so mysterious. Even after years, we know almost nothing about him.

One another girl said,

"If Saino asked me on a date, I might actually consider it."

"Me too…" others admitted.

But the shy girl shook her head immediately, cheeks red, voice sharp.

"He wouldn't feel anything for any of you. You all have better chances with Yagami. Saino is… different."

The group fell silent.

But one girl with smile spoke up see her she is Jealous of us i think she is fear of if we will take saino from her.

Other replied Yes you are right looks .I think she likes saino then we see the girl face she was shy and blushing after telling these all.

While The girl who gaved phone numbers to others said

"Relax…guys.

While the girls continued talking, Yagami broke through the hallway crowd.

Oh no…! He said to himself

I think Saino already crossed the gate!

I thoght to go with Saino ,

but the group of girls but the situation spiraled.

But he thought

He shouldn't be too far. I still have a chance.

He sprinted toward the gate, pushing through the after-school crowd.

Bursting outside—he spotted Saino walking alone down the road.

"There!" he breathed out.

He started running.

And Saino, even without turning around, felt it—

the presence of someone rushing toward him from behind.

His calm eyes shifted slightly.

He knew exactly who it was.Saino turned slightly when he noticed Yagami matching his pace beside him.

"Hey, Saino, what will you do after going home today?" Yagami asked with a casual smile. "Preparing for the upcoming exam? Or do you have some other plan? And what about this Sunday—are you free?"

Saino replied in his usual steady tone, "I will just read and prepare for the upcoming exam."

He paused for a moment when thinking about Sunday. "I don't have any plan. I'll just read books."

"Books, huh?" Yagami grinned, tapping his hand thoughtfully on his jaw. "So you're totally free this Sunday, right? Then why don't we go to a library? My grandpa told me about a thousand-year-old library. Hardly anyone knows about it, so it's usually empty. Let's go together. I know your taste in books—you'll definitely find something you like."

Saino's eyes narrowed with slight interest.

"An old library… interesting. Sure, I will come."

"Great!" Yagami said brightly. "I'll share the location on your phone. Be there on time."

They continued walking until the road split into two directions—one toward Yagami's home, the other toward Saino's.

Yagami waved with a cheerful smile. "Bye, Saino! See you tomorrow!"

Saino raised his hand slightly, calm as always. "Goodbye."

---

As he walked alone toward home, the peaceful atmosphere suddenly shifted.

A little farther ahead, he spotted a group of small boys bullying a younger, weaker child.

The boy cried desperately,

"Please… stop… please…"

But the bullies only laughed, enjoying his fear.

Saino stopped for a moment.

Should I intervene… or ignore it? he wondered silently.

Before he could decide, the bullies noticed him staring at them. Their expressions instantly changed.

"H-He's looking at us!" one whispered.

"Let's get out of here!" another yelled.

They panicked and ran, and while escaping, one shouted back at the bullied kid with an angry grin,

"Today you're lucky!"

The little boy looked up at Saino, tears streaming down his face, bruises visible on his arms. When their eyes met, he froze—scared, hopeless, unsure of what would happen next.

Saino simply walked past him without reacting.

Humans are just like other animals, Saino thought calmly.

Instincts to dominate the weak. A desire to control others. This world is cruel—nothing unusual. The strong always crush the weak.

He glanced briefly at the trembling boy—someone clearly needing help, guidance, anything—but Saino ignored him and continued on his way.

---

A few minutes later, Saino reached his home.

From the outside, the small house looked worn-out—faded paint, cracks across the old walls, a silent sign of poverty. He unlocked the door and stepped inside.

The silence was heavy.

No voices. No footsteps.

Just emptiness.

Saino placed his school bag neatly on his study table and headed to the bathroom.

The sound of running water echoed briefly in the lonely house.

Scene shifts—night.

11 p.m.

Saino lay on his bed, staring up at the worn ceiling.

The house was silent again—just like when he came home.

So my entire day ends here, he thought.

After bathing, he had studied for five to six hours, then eaten his simple meal. Now, in the quiet darkness, his thoughts drifted.

---

A human life… how miserable.

I don't know what others think. But for me, the entire life of a human feels boring and meaningless.

We are born… our parents hope we will do something great. Up to our teenage years, most of us only want fun. More than 90% follow that path, while the remaining 10% choose something unique.

Then the journey begins—struggle, motivation, discipline, sports, studies… no one knows what will happen next because the future isn't decided. It's in our hands.

Many become successful, and then they start a stable life… then they make their own family and expect their children to repeat the same. The cycle continues—birth, struggle, success, reproduction, death. That's supposed to be a human life.

Most people stay in poverty. Some in the middle class. A few in the rich class. Different lives… but the same goal—success and happiness.

But is this really happiness? Half their life is spent running in a race, and when success finally comes, they simply reproduce… and die. How stupid.

This cycle… this endless cage.

And I—Saino—I want to break it.

I want true happiness. A world where people aren't chasing money. A world without hunger, where no one sleeps with an empty stomach. A world where people don't need physical strength to protect themselves. A world where normal people can improve themselves—not for money, not for society, but for their own growth, their spiritual strength, their inner potential.

More than 95% of the world is trapped in this cycle—this cage of race, struggle, hunger, and false happiness. And I wants to open this cage.

His eyes slowly closed.

I don't know how. I don't know what I must do. But my instinct tells me… I am the only one who can.

With those thoughts filling his mind, Saino finally drifted into sleep.
