Chapter 30 - Bonus Chapter: The Magnet and the Miracles

Three Years Later

The Xiao Estate, once a bastion of silent power and cold marble, had undergone a radical transformation. The sound of stock tickers and hushed political debates had been replaced by a sound far more chaotic: the high-pitched shrieks of two toddlers.

Xiao Mu-Chen and Xiao Mu-Zi, the twin heirs to the most powerful union in history, were currently engaged in a high-stakes tactical maneuver across the grand library. At the center of the chaos was Xiao Jinglin.

The man who once terrified the global financial market was currently sitting on an antique Persian rug, his bespoke Italian suit jacket discarded on a nearby chair. In his left hand, he held a tablet displaying a live feed of the London Stock Exchange. In his right hand, he was expertly balancing a plush dragon. On his lap, little Mu-Zi was attempting to use his silk tie as a leash for a toy tank.

"Grandfather! Make the dragon fly over the mountain!" Mu-Chen commanded, tugging at Jinglin's sleeve.

"One moment, little warrior," Jinglin said, his eyes scanning a plummeting tech stock. He tapped a command on the tablet, liquidating a forty-million-dollar position with one thumb, then immediately transitioned into a "whooshing" sound as the dragon took flight. "The dragon is clearing the peak! But he must land for his snack soon."

Yun Zi entered the room, leaning against the doorframe with a cup of tea, a look of pure amusement on her face. "Jinglin, the Board of Directors has been on hold for fifteen minutes. They're panicking about the merger."

"Let them panic," Jinglin grumbled, expertly catching Mu-Zi before she could crawl into a priceless Ming vase. "They are adults. They can manage their own stress. My granddaughter, however, requires a story about the 'Great Forest Chase,' and my grandson is convinced I am a landing strip."

"You're a terrible influence," Yun Zi laughed, walking over and kissing the top of his head. "You're turning them into little tyrants."

"They are Xiaos and Mus," Jinglin said, finally putting the tablet away and pulling both children into his arms. "They were born to rule. I'm just teaching them how to multitask."

The doors to the library opened, and Mu Feichi and Shen Xi walked in. They were dressed in casual attire, returning from a day at the Research Institute. Mu Feichi looked at the scene—the discarded gold tie, the toys scattered over the library, and the Financial Magnet of the South currently being used as a climbing frame.

"I see the 'High Commander' is in full retreat," Mu Feichi teased, picking up his son and tossing him into the air. He was still the Marshal, but the hard edges of his olive-green world had been softened by the warmth of home.

"He's not in retreat," Shen Xi said, smiling as she kissed her father's cheek. "He's just found a market he can't manipulate with money."

Xiao Jinglin looked up, his amber eyes bright with a contentment that no bank balance could ever provide. He looked at his wife, his daughter, his son-in-law, and the two miracles crawling over his knees.

"The market is closed for the day," the Grandfather announced, pulling the twins closer. "The only business left is dinner and a bedtime story."

As the family moved toward the dining hall, the sun set over the capital, casting a long, golden light over an empire built not on power, but on a ghost who came home, a doctor who saved a marshal, and a father who finally learned that the greatest wealth is measured in the laughter of children.
