Chapter 28 - The Secret Expanded Edition of Twilight (Now With Everything)

Let me clear something up.

Twilight lied to you.

Not maliciously.

Not even intentionally.

It just… zoomed in too far.

The books and movies make it look like this world is about vampires and werewolves.

That's like saying Earth is about pigeons and raccoons.

The Great Reveal (a.k.a. Surprise, It's a Zoo)

When the relocation began, I finally saw the full picture.

And I mean full.

As the gates to Model–Monster World opened—smooth, controlled, layered with shadow logistics—I watched beings step through from every corner of the globe.

Not sneaking.

Not hiding.

Walking.

Proud.

Alive.

I stood on a high ridge in my personal dimension, Scáthach beside me, arms crossed, eyes gleaming.

"…This," she said, "is what humans were never meant to catalog."

She wasn't wrong.

Not All Magic, Just… Different

Here's the thing people get wrong:

Not all supernaturals are spellcasters.

Most of them aren't waving wands or chanting ancient incantations.

Their abilities are… biological.

Inherent.

Like evolution took mythology as a suggestion.

Giants

They looked human—until they didn't.

At will, their bodies grew.

Muscle density scaling.

Bones reinforcing.

Some topped out at ten meters.

Others far more.

No magic circles.

No runes.

Just growth.

Dwarves

Compact. Dense.

They could shrink further, becoming smaller than children, slipping through cracks in stone and steel.

Strength didn't scale down.

That was… unsettling.

Elves

No pointy-eared forest clichés.

These ones could become plants.

Trees.

Vines.

Flowers.

Perfectly still. Perfectly alive.

Photosynthesis as a survival strategy.

Petunia took notes like her life depended on it.

Spirits

Intangible.

They phased through matter like bad memories.

Some glowed.

Some didn't.

They existed half a step out of reality.

Shadows loved them.

Shifters (Where Things Get Crowded)

This is where the list exploded.

Shapeshifting wasn't limited to wolves.

Oh no.

Bear Tribes – Russia

Brown.

Black.

Polar.

Even pandas (don't ask).

Massive frames.

Calm dispositions.

Scary patience.

Big Cats – Southeast Asia

Tigers.

Leopards.

Panthers.

Graceful.

Deadly.

Fashion sense unfair.

Rosalie approved.

Naga – India

Serpentine lower bodies.

Human upper forms.

Some with scales like polished jewels.

Others matte and ancient.

Powerful constriction strength.

Very polite.

Elephant Shifters – Africa

Colossal presence.

When they shifted, the ground noticed.

Memory like steel traps.

Dignity incarnate.

Fox Tribe – Japan

Clever.

Fast.

Annoyingly charming.

Illusion-adjacent abilities—not magic, but perception tricks.

Alice loved them.

That worried me.

Bird Shifters – China

Hawks.

Cranes.

Phoenix-adjacent species (don't ask).

Flight mastery.

Eyes that saw everything.

Eastern European Werewolves

Not like the Quileute.

These were bipedal, towering wolves.

Longer snouts.

Heavier bones.

Less pack-bonded.

More… territorial.

Sam did not like them.

Aquatic Shifters

Oh.

Oh no.

Mermen.

Merfolk.

Sharks.

Octopuses.

Beings who ruled oceans humans pretended to understand.

Some shifted partially.

Some fully.

All terrifying underwater.

The Relocation (Shockingly Smooth)

Despite the variety—

It worked.

No riots.

No power struggles.

The Model–Monster World adapted.

Biomes formed.

Forests expanded.

Oceans deepened.

Mountains shifted.

A planet reshaping itself to house its people.

I watched it all from afar.

God's-eye view.

Feeling… small.

And Then I Saw Them

I shouldn't have looked left.

But I did.

Cow shifters.

Large frames.

Healthy builds.

Rural tribe aesthetics.

Perfectly normal.

Totally natural.

My brain, unfortunately, made observations without consulting me.

I stared.

They noticed.

One waved.

I waved back stiffly.

"…Author," I muttered, "you are doing this on purpose."

Scáthach followed my gaze.

Paused.

Then laughed.

Deep. Amused.

"Oh," she said. "You are suffering."

"I am being tested," I replied flatly.

She smiled. "You will endure."

I glanced at you.

"Pray for me," I repeated. "Again."

The World Settles

As night fell over Model–Monster World, lights glimmered across continents.

Different species.

Different cultures.

One refuge.

Twilight's hidden truth—finally visible.

And somewhere beneath Antarctic ice—

Humans still dug.

Ignorant.

Curious.

Doomed.

I turned away.

"Next chapter," I said, "things get… political."

The shadows stirred.

And the monsters—models and otherwise—began their new lives.
