"Oh, it's Hannah! Time really flies—so you've already reached the age to enroll!"
Mrs. Malkin smiled kindly when she saw the group enter her shop.
"But rules are rules. Could you please show me your acceptance letter?"
"Okay~"
Hannah obediently took out the letter and handed it to Mrs. Malkin, then turned to look at Luna beside her.
"By the way, where's your acceptance letter? You should show it too! New students get a discount on school supplies when they buy them for the first time—but only if they show their acceptance letter."
Hearing this, Luna nodded slightly to indicate she understood, but she didn't move. She wasn't a new student this year, so where was she supposed to get an acceptance letter?
Tom, standing nearby, quickly stretched out a paw. In the blink of an eye, a letter appeared in his grasp—as if pulled from thin air. It was unmistakably a Hogwarts acceptance letter.
"???"
Hannah looked from the indifferent Luna to the Cat calmly holding the letter. A large question mark practically hovered above her head.
After a moment, she suddenly clapped her hands as if she'd realized something.
"Oh! You're letting your pet carry such important items for you, right? What a smart and amazing Cat! That's even more convenient than an Undetectable Extension Charm!"
She leaned forward excitedly.
"Luna, what kind of magical creature is this Cat? Where did you find it? Are there more like him? I really want to raise such an amazing Cat too!"
After all, items enchanted with an Undetectable Extension Charm were strictly regulated by the Ministry of Magic. Having a Cat like this was basically the same as carrying a perfectly legal expanded storage space.
'(๑´ڡ`๑) If I had a Cat like that, I'd definitely fill it with delicious food!'
It had to be said—she truly was a future Hufflepuff, with a mind full of food. Or perhaps this was simply the British condition. After all, it was a country where cookbooks were as thick as American history books.
Before Luna could explain anything, Mrs. Malkin suddenly cried out in surprise.
"Tom Lovegood? So you're the Cat Professor Dumbledore specifically mentioned—the one enrolling this year?"
[That would be me, Mrs. Malkin.]
A whiteboard appeared out of nowhere in Tom's paw, neat black letters written clearly across it.
Hannah: ((ᵒꈊᵒ‖))՞
If Hannah had suspected earlier that Tom was hiding things using some kind of extension magic, she could no longer deny what she had just seen. The whiteboard had appeared from absolutely nothing—his paw had been empty a second ago!
And what had Mrs. Malkin just said?
Tom… was the Cat enrolling this year?
Merlin's beard! That meant she had been treating her classmate like a pet this whole time?!
But then—
'(⁄⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄⁄) …So cute.'
Tom didn't have time to care about Hannah's shock. Mrs. Malkin had already grabbed him and started taking measurements.
The standard school uniform wasn't much of a problem. His build was similar to that of a normal young wizard, so only minor adjustments were needed—plus a hole for his tail.
The real issue was the dragon-hide gloves.
Tom's paws only had four fingers. Standard gloves wouldn't work at all; they would have to be custom-made.
Once all the measurements were done and Mrs. Malkin finally let them go, Hannah stopped pestering Luna and drifted closer to Tom.
She didn't say anything, but her eyes continuously scanned him from head to toe, filled with unrestrained curiosity.
Whether they were buying textbooks, scales, cauldrons, or other supplies, her gaze never left him. It made Tom increasingly uncomfortable.
[What on earth are you staring at?!]
Unable to take it anymore, Tom pulled out the whiteboard again.
"Eh? You can talk?!"
[(¬_¬) Nonsense. How else do you think I communicated with Mrs. Malkin just now?]
Hannah: ⊙∀⊙!
"Oh… right."
But almost immediately, her eyes lit up again.
"Wait! The writing on this—it changes by itself?!"
[It does not! I write it myself!]
Hannah pouted suspiciously. She had clearly seen the words change instantly with her own eyes.
Still, since Tom refused to admit it, she didn't push further. Instead, she changed the subject—directing her curiosity straight at him.
"By the way, is your name really Tom too? That's the same as my dad's name~ And since you're so magical, can you turn into other kinds of Cats? Like a Ragdoll?"
She leaned closer, firing questions nonstop.
"And where do you keep all these things? I can't see anywhere on you where you could hide them! And that huge whiteboard—where did it even come from?"
She paused only briefly before continuing.
"Oh, and can you be like other magical pets and travel across cities really fast to deliver packages to specific people?"
"…."
Tom finally understood what Luna had been dealing with earlier.
What "Iron Hat King"? This was clearly a walking curiosity bomb!
The barrage of questions hit his mind like cannon fire, nearly overwhelming his Cat brain.
He desperately cast a pleading look toward Luna and Pandora.
Luna returned a helpless gaze—with a subtle hint of thank goodness it's not me—while Pandora simply smiled playfully, clearly enjoying the scene.
Fortunately, Diagon Alley wasn't very large.
Before Hannah could fully satisfy her endless curiosity, they arrived at the final stop of their shopping trip: Ollivanders Wand Shop.
Standing before the narrow, timeworn storefront, even Hannah subconsciously quieted down. Compared to a magical Cat classmate, her future wand was far more important.
Seeing her finally calm down, Tom let out a quiet sigh of relief.
He didn't mind being liked—especially by an adorable young girl—but Hannah's curiosity was simply too intense.
At last, he had a chance to properly observe the legendary wand shop that no transmigrator could ever avoid.
Just like in the original books, the shop looked ancient and weathered by time. The faded sign outside spoke silently of its long history.
Inside, the décor was sparse. Aside from a single bench, the entire shop was filled with countless wand boxes stacked from floor to ceiling, creating a narrow, almost claustrophobic space.
Looking at the towering stacks, Tom couldn't help but wonder whether Mr. Ollivander used a Levitation Charm to stabilize the boxes whenever he retrieved a wand.
Before he could ponder it further, an old man with wide, pale, silver eyes suddenly appeared before them, as if emerging from the shadows.
"Good afternoon. You must be the new students here to select your wands. Please, come in."
His gaze landed precisely on Tom and Hannah, completely ignoring Luna, who had entered with them.
Only Ollivander could tell at a glance who actually needed a wand.
Hannah's wand selection went smoothly. After only a few attempts, Ollivander found the wand that suited her best.
Then, his eyes shifted to Tom.
"I believe you are Tom—the one Professor Dumbledore specifically mentioned. Am I correct?"
He studied Tom carefully.
"No matter who you are, who you once were, or who you may become, a wand will always be your most loyal companion. They choose the wizard who suits them best."
His voice softened slightly.
"So, child, come forward. Let me find the companion most suitable for you—the one that will walk beside you on your path."
