Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Preparations for the Desert

Lionel granted Feebas the skills "Rain Dance" and "Aqua Ring" from the System Storage Space; these were skills won in the Lottery after the Pokémon Contest.

At the time, he was busy executing the plan to stimulate Feebas's desire for beauty, so he hadn't used them yet. Now, since they were about to start training in the desert, he would have Feebas learn them together.

[Rain Dance: Continuously consumes internal energy to create rain. In a rainy environment, the power of Water-type moves increases, while the power of Fire-type moves significantly decreases.]

[Aqua Ring: Covers one's body with a circulating water belt created by special Water Energy, restoring stamina periodically.]

Two streams of white light spheres flowed into Feebas's body. It shook itself, seemingly feeling the moisture in the air becoming more amicable, and a faint ring of water vapor seemed to wrap around its body.

Finally, it was Tyrunt's turn.

This little guy needed to learn quite a few skills: Iron Tail, Scale Shot, Dragon Claw, and Psychic Fangs—four skills in total.

[Iron Tail: Circulates internal energy to make the tail as hard as steel. When attacking an opponent, it sometimes lowers the opponent's Defense.]

[Scale Shot: Fires scales from the body surface for continuous attack. It can increase one's Speed but will lower one's Defense.]

[Dragon Claw: Uses sharp, massive claws to Slash and attack the opponent.]

[Psychic Fangs: Uses psychic power to coat one's teeth, Biting the opponent to attack. It can also destroy Psychic-type skills, Light Screen, Reflect, and others.]

Lionel successively imported these Skill Light Spots into Tyrunt's body. Every time the little guy received a skill, it would let out an excited "awoo," and the scales all over its body would brighten slightly.

As for the Ability Enhancer and High-Grade Pokémon Energy Cluster, Lionel planned to use them incrementally on Tyrunt during training every few days.

Injecting too much energy all at once is not a good thing. If a Pokémon's body is forcibly boosted before it is accustomed to the current power, it can easily lead to an unstable foundation.

Lionel's purpose in coming to this desert region was to allow Tyrunt to rapidly adapt to the increase in power through grueling training, stabilize control over every muscle and every skill, and thus achieve evolution.

The three Pokémon obediently stayed put, closing their eyes to feel the surging new power in their bodies and the extra skill knowledge in their minds.

The room fell silent again, leaving only their faint breathing and occasional whimpers. Lionel opened his phone and began editing the video he had just filmed.

Lionel took out his phone and started editing the interactive video he had just filmed. He deliberately extended the footage of Beldum; this third companion of his would definitely be the "trump card" for attracting viewers in the next Live Broadcast.

After the editing was complete, Lionel posted the video to his Trainer account with the caption:

"A new partner has joined! Guess who it is?"

Seeing the notification that the video had been successfully sent, Lionel smiled. He knew this was just the beginning of the warm-up. The shiny Beldum would definitely attract a large crowd when he announced the Live Broadcast of his Gym challenge.

What he needed to do now was prepare thoroughly for the upcoming desert training, getting ready for every Gym battle that lay ahead... Just as Lionel posted the video, his phone chimed, and the notification bar at the top of the screen was instantly flooded with comments from netizens.

He smiled, picked up his phone, and slid his fingertip across the screen, browsing the enthusiastic messages.

"The Streamer finally posted a video! It's been two days! I missed Feebas and Tyrunt so much!"

"A new partner? Let me see what little cutie it is!"

"Wait... that shimmering silver little guy in the frame is... Beldum?!"

"Holy crap!!! Is that a shiny Beldum?!"

"I'm not seeing things, am I? A Beldum the same color as Champion Steven's shiny Metagross!"

"Could this be... Champion Steven's Metagross's child?!"

"Oh my god! This is crazy, absolutely insane..."

"Stop talking! Streamer, start the Live Broadcast quickly! I want to see the shiny Beldum! Start streaming now, we want to see it, and Tyrunt and Feebas too!"

"+100! We strongly demand a Live Broadcast!"

"..."

The comment refresh rate sped up dramatically. Within just a few minutes of the video being posted, likes and comments poured in continuously. Many netizens even tagged their friends in the comment section, urging them to come see the shiny Beldum.

Lionel looked at the enthusiastic comments, the smile in his eyes deepening. It seemed the warm-up effect far exceeded expectations; the appeal of Steven + shiny Beldum was truly incredible.

Without hesitation, he quickly tapped the screen, edited a reply, and set it as a pinned comment:

"Thank you all for your attention! I won't be starting a Live Broadcast for now~ The next stream will be when I challenge Gym Leader Wattson of the Mauville Gym. I will post a preview on my account beforehand, and I hope everyone tunes in then!"

As soon as this pinned reply appeared, the comment section immediately exploded.

"No! We want to see it now! We can't wait, we must see the shiny Beldum..."

"Streamer, Streamer, is this Champion Steven's shiny Metagross's child?"

"Was it caught in the wild? Which area did you catch it in? I want to catch one too!"

"The person above, you wish! Just look at the color of this Beldum, and you should understand. This clearly looks like Champion Steven's shiny Metagross's child."

"Exactly, exactly! Daydreaming! Still hoping to catch one in the wild? The Trainers in our Hoenn region who own a Metagross can be counted on one hand..."

"When are you challenging the Gym? Hurry up, I really want to see the shiny Beldum."

The discussion among the netizens grew increasingly heated. Lionel watched for a while before putting away his phone. The hype had been successfully built; the rest he would leave to time. The most important thing now was preparing for the desert training.

He turned to look at the center of the room. The three Pokémon had mostly finished digesting their new powers.

Tyrunt was currently lying on the floor, waving its short claws and flicking its tail, practicing the newly learned "Iron Tail." The tip of its tail emitted a faint metallic sheen, occasionally hitting the floor with a dull "thump-thump."

Lionel was startled and immediately ran over to stop it. This guy didn't know its own strength; if it accidentally collapsed the room, they would be finished.

Tyrunt, whose tail was being held down by Lionel, let out a wronged "awoo," turning its big eyes to look at Lionel, as if saying, "I just wanted to practice."

Lionel helplessly rubbed its head: "You need to practice skills, but don't do it in the Hotel! Once we get into the desert, you can practice however you like. For now, obediently hold back your strength."

On the other side, Beldum was floating mid-air, its small silver body spinning around like a top.

As the proficiency of its "Zen Headbutt" skill increased, its control over Confusion became more precise, and the faint blue Confusion fluctuations surrounding its body were noticeably more prominent than before.
