She cried.
When was the last time I cried? Llana thought.
She couldn't remember.
That's… weird.
Llana wasn't someone who cried easily. She wasn't the type to get emotional over someone she wasn't even close to.
But seeing Chaeyeon get eliminated. Seeing her stand at the center as she forced herself to look strong, as if vulnerability itself were a sin, a sin she can't make.
It made Llana's chest tighten.
Why does it hurt so much?
Why did I cry?
Was it because the atmosphere was too depressing, too heavy with sadness?
Or was it because she was seeing her past self in Chaeyeon?
It must have been hard for her. Llana couldn't even begin to imagine how much it hurt...Being the first one eliminated, and over something as cruel as a single photograph. It must have struck not only her confidence, but also left behind a sharp, lingering regret.
Regret over not being able to show her full capability.
Llana knew that feeling all too well how suffocating it was to fail despite giving everything you had, despite the effort and dedication poured into it.
That was why she always gave her all, every single time.
So that if she failed, she wouldn't sink into despair no matter how painful or heartbreaking it might be.
She only hoped Chaeyeon wouldn't see this failure as the end, but as a ladder, something to step on as she climbed her way to the top.
"Llana, are you okay? You're spacing out" Chaeyeon called her she was shook gently to get her attention.
"Ne, I was just thinking about the next mission" Llana answered using the task as an excuse.
They are currently at the living room at talking about the next match. The 3rd task is a 1 on 1 battle where the minor are the one who will choose one major to challenge their major spot which is a really hard battle making every Major members worried.
"You're worried? I don't think someone will choose you. They're afraid of you after all" Jeongyeon laughed as she pushed Llana's shoulder teasingly.
"Yeah, Jeongyeon-unnie is right. I'm curious who will challenge you." Somi commented nodding her head at Jeongyeon's statement.
"Maybe Jihyo-unnie?" Chaeyoung asked. She is the only person she think can match Llana.
"Or Nayeon-unnie" Sana said.
"Sigh~ I was really worried about this mission." Somi commented her face changing to worry.
"If you do good... then it's fine" Chaeyoung said trying to give an advise but others thought she is bragging.
" Ohhhh" Jeongyeon started, Natty and Somi followed.
Everyone laughed
" She's saying that because she was in major since beginning. If you go down once you will understand the bitter feeling." Somi pointed her index at Chaeyoung as she half-teased half serious.
" Anni, I was just stating the obvious, do good and you stay." Chaeyoung tried to give her defense shaking her hand her face getting red.
But everyone just booed and didn't let her off.
" Chaeyoung just shut up you can't win against someone who becomes a major then become a minor and comes back." Llana said as she laugh a little
"Wow, look at her talking like she's already survived it, these two are just bragging" Jeongyeon shook her head
"Careful, Llana. You haven't tasted that bitterness yet." Somi added smirking
"Yeah, don't jinx yourself, Chaeyoung-unnie, Llana-unnie." Natty mixed in
Another laughter filled the room.
"Who will room with me?" Llana asked, changing the subject to sleeping—she was already feeling sleepy and figured asking now would mean going to bed earlier. Her previous roommate, Jihyo-unnie, had been demoted to Minor after the last challenge, leaving Llana without anyone to share a room with.
"Me!"
Two soft voices chorused, making Llana blink as she searched for the source. It was Mina and Tzuyu—both with their hands raised slightly.
Tzuyu and Mina exchanged glances, clearly not expecting each other to speak up.
As expected, the others didn't let it slide, immediately teasing the pair. Jeongyeon led the charge.
"Ooooh, look at you two, fighting over rooming with the big Major~," Jeongyeon said, her eyes darting between the three.
"Aww, look at those little hands… so eager to share a room with her. Aren't you a heartthrob, Llana?" Somi chimed in, teasing both Tzuyu and Mina, causing the two introverts to blush.
"Oh! Is this what they call a love triangle?" Sana squealed, clearly intrigued as if she were watching a K-drama unfold in real life.
The others laughed again, their stomachs aching from amusement at the reactions of the three victims of their teasing.
"Ayieee~ we have a love triangle here!"
"Anni~"
The three chorused once more, laughter erupting again. Llana couldn't help but send both Mina and Tzuyu a deadpan look, sighing as she pinched the bridge of her nose.
Mina spoke softly, "Anni~ I just… thought I was the only one without a room yet. That's why I said something." She lied. What she really wanted was to share a room with Llana. Being around her always made Mina feel calm. She wasn't as talkative as the others, and she could even play games with her without feeling pressured.
"Then do you want to share a room with me instead, unnie? I don't have a roommate," Chaeyoung asked Mina. She also wanted to room with her.
"...Okay, Chaeyoung." Mina hesitated, then nodded and gave Chaeyoung a small smile.
"Llana is cursed! Don't stick to her. Everyone who's shared a room with her falls to Minor," Chaeyoung continued.
"Hey! That's not trueee," Llana protested but now that she thought about it… could it be?
Is she really cursed? First Mina, after becoming her roommate, ended up in the Minor group. Then Jihyo. But that's just coincidence, right?
They say once is unexpected, twice is coincidence… if it happens a third time, then maybe it's fate. Or maybe… she's just too lucky. Yep, that's it—her luck is so strong it's basically a superpower, and anyone who shares a room with her gets all the bad luck instead?
[System:..... Host is being arrogant and narcissistic. Should I cancel the reward for the mission completion?]
'oh no! Sorry my dear, little friend. Please don't.' Llana pleaded her system. She forgot her system can hear her thoughts

Llana rolled her eyes internally. She could just imagine her system hmphing arrogantly in response..

"Alright then. Tzuyu will be my roommate. I'm going to sleep—I'm already sleepy," Llana said, yawning. The others nodded in agreement; they were all ready for rest after such a hectic day.
"Tzuyu-unnie, come on, let me show you our room," Llana beckoned.
"Ne~," Tzuyu replied, trailing behind her.
