Chapter 9 - 9. I will choose the title from first three comments here.

"Mom!" Haru protested. He didn't like it when his mom hugged him or spoke to him in an affectionate tone. It just felt wrong to him.

"Kids shouldn't poke when adults talk."

Haru stiffened. 'I just wanted to hear a bit of what they want to talk about to determine how much Canon changed.'

Sayaka pulled him onto the couch, onto her lap.

"Mom, let me go." Haru struggled to free himself, but it was futile.

Though his mother appeared like a shut-in otaku, which she was, she hadn't stopped training.

Haru's physique was above-average, but in front of his mom, it was not worth mentioning.

If Haru wanted, he could knock out his mom with his quirk in the current position. However, he didn't.

If he used his quirk, then his mom would too. Previously, he had tried it multiple times, but it all failed.

"Jeez. Are you on your period? Wait, no, you are a boy." Sayaka laughed at her own joke.

Haru looked back at her with a deadpan expression. "Very funny."

Sayaka ignored it. "It must be your rebellious phase. Now that you are going away from Mommy, you must feel happy about the independence you will get."

Haru didn't know how to retort. He hasn't really thought about the dorm system in detail. Even if he lived alone now, would it even change anything?

"Isn't Toru also going to shift in the dorms? Now that you two are dating and are living nearby, I wonder what naughty things you two will do there. Maybe I should be expecting grandchildren."

Haru bit his tongue, maintaining his stoic face. "Mom, it's U.A. Nothing like that will happen."

"So, if it wasn't U.A., then something would have happened?" Sayaka smirked.

"Mom! It's too soon to think about these things. I am barely 15." Haru didn't know if his face stood stoic or not.

"Both you and Nejire are moving out. This old lady would be lonely now." She hugged him tight.

"Well, Dad is still there." Haru tried comforting her. He didn't expect his mother to feel like this.

Sayaka blinked. She blinked again. She then let go of Haru, who stood up.

"Mom...are you blushing?" Haru stood with a dumbfounded expression. He didn't remember the last time his mother had such an expression on her face.

"With you two gone, it would be just me and him." She grinned. "You should be expecting a new sibling soon." She shamelessly said.

"MOM!"

"So, what did you want to talk about, Kiyomasa?" Toshinori got straight to the point. They still had to visit other houses.

"I have found the traitor. The one who leaked the information about the summer camp."

Both Toshinori and Shota involuntarily straightened up.

"Already? Who is it?" Though both of them knew his infamous reputation, they still didn't think he would get it this fast.

'There's a rumour going on that he has high control over HPC due to having dirt on all the higher-ups. I thought it was just a rumour, but it might be true.' Shota thought.

Kiyomasa's quirk allowed him to see information about a target.

Now, it might not appear that awesome with just that description, but one must remember that Haru's quirk allows him to hack things.

It goes beyond the casual 'hacking' term used to infiltrate virtual things, as Haru's quirk could be used to hack other people's bodies, quirk and even reality itself.

It was a ridiculous quirk, and his father's quirk was of a similar category.

With just this quirk alone, he had uncovered the truth about All Might's quirk long ago.

Kiyomasa looked at Aizawa. "It's one of your students. Aoyama Yuga."

Shota blinked. "What!? There might be something wrong—" He involuntarily caught the stack of paper that came at his face.

"I know it's hard to just take my hard for it. So, I found some evidence. Though it's not as definitive as I would have liked, it was what I could scrap."

Shota quickly scanned the paper before turning the next page. With each page, his hands started trembling.

"This..."

"Of course. It's not like he is a spy voluntarily. He is being blackmailed with his family's lives. I believe his parents are to be held responsible for this mishap.

If they hadn't made a deal with All For One, then this wouldn't have happened." Kiyomasa explained patiently.

"Deal? What deal?"

"They made a deal for an exchange of a quirk for their kid, who was quirkless. All For One can take and give quirks."

"Take and give quirks...? I see." Shota took a deep breath before retaining his composure.

"Anyway, I told you two because Nezu trusts you. I want you to relay this information to him and tell him that I will drop by sometime next week or next to next week to discuss about this matter.

Until then, don't act any differently. Though Aoyoma is a spy, he or All For One doesn't know that we know that he is a spy. We can capitalise that."

Shota frowned. "Isn't All For One in jail? What's the point of this?"

Kiyomasa smiled. "Because that man has several of his ways. If he wants, he could escape Tartarus. The only reason he hasn't because the time is not right. Even if we kill him, I am not sure if he will come back, so we need a plan to get rid of him once and for all."

A week later

"Yo, you are early." Haru motioned for Toru to come in. Today, his mother had told him to invite the friends who had come for his rescue for dinner.

Toru came because she was the one who got saved.

"Oh, you are already here? Are you healed up?" Sayaka asked. She was seated on the chair, rather than her usual spot on the couch. A rare sight.

"Yes, Auntie. I have made a full recovery. More or less." Toru took a seat beside her, opposite Haru. She lifted the glass of water present on the table, sipping.

"Call me mother-in-law."

Toru choked on the water she was drinking.

"Mom...Stop teasing her." Haru gave her a deadpan.

"Hehe. The timing was too perfect not to." She giggled. "Though you know, it's kind of surprising that Toru, being your childhood friend, is dating you."

"What's surprising about it?" Toru asked.

"Doesn't the childhood friend always lose? I am worried that your relationship might break up later." Sayaka said with a faux worried expression.

"Auntie, you have watched too much anime. This is reality."

"Yeah. Plus, by your logic, shouldn't you and Dad be not a couple? Aren't you childhood friends too?" Haru nodded.

"Well, technically, we aren't childhood friends." Kiyomasa appeared from the kitchen, adorned with an apron.

Both Toru and Haru looked at him in confusion.

"Kiyomasa!" Sayaka tried to stop him, but he didn't.

"Our relationship was kind of complex. You can say that she was my childhood bully."

"???"

"???"

Haru couldn't believe his ears. His mom... was dad's childhood bully?

"This... I didn't bully him...physically. Mostly...anyway, this is all in past." Sayaka was flustered for a few seconds before she regained her composure.

"Wait, then how did you guys get together, then?" Haru asked.

"Well, Sayaka had proposed a bet. My quirk was kind of not-combat-related, so she had told me that I can't get into U.A. I didn't really care about what she had said.

Seeing my indifference, she had proposed a bet. If I got into U.A., she would date me."

"And you agreed?" Haru looked at his dad like he was looking at an alien.

"Well, I did, 'coz it sounded crazy and I wanted to take revenge by humilating her. Well, we did start dating, and some things happened, and our relationship changed."

"Crazy. This sounds like the plot of some romcom." Toru had a baffled expression. Though nobody could see it.

Haru, on the other hand, had a pondering expression, but his eyes widened. "Hold up. Is this the reason you suggested I propose a bet against Toru before the entrance exams?" He turned to his mom.

"N-No. I suggested it so that she gets motivated. Nothing else." Her mom didn't make eye contact.

Haru had proposed a bet that if Toru got into U.A., then he would be her sidekick in future. He had made this because he hadn't thought that Toru would actually get in with her quirk.

So, when the entrance exam results came, his plans to help his sister found her agency changed to helping Toru instead. He didn't want to create his agency because it was too much work.

Even his mom's agency was managed by his dad, and the man is pretty busy even while working from home. One of the reasons his mom had retired was due to the workload.

DING DONG

"Guess, people are finally coming."
