Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 Defeat

After an unknown period of time, Zhang Tianqing was awakened by her violent coughing. She sudddenly spat out a mouthful of thick blood. The uncomfortableness made her slowly open her eyes.

"General, you're finally awake." An ordinary youth's face came into view. The bonfire beside him wasn't that bright, but it reflected the youth's shining eyes due to his pleasant surprise.

Zhang Tianqing looked around. It seemed to be a cave. It was dark outside.

"Who... are you?" Zhang Tianqing's voice was hoarse.

After that, Zhang Tianqing coughed violently again and vomited blood, almost out of breath.

"General, I am Wu Shou, the military doctor of the Zhang family army. Three days ago, you fell from the top of the valley. I found that you were stabbed in the chest and your life was in danger, so I hid you in this cave under the protection of several generals. But... because it is barren here and we have no medicine, I really can't cure you..." Wu Shou couldn't finish his words, and his eyes became dim.

Zhang Tianqing speculated from his expression that she would soon die. Zhang Tianqing glanced at the entrance of the cave. Several generals' bodies were piled up and began to smell.

It could be imagined how much effort they had put in and what serious injuries they had suffered to save her.

"How is the situation now?" Zhang Tianqing looked away and asked the key question.

"Three days ago, the left flank army did not appear. In addition, many soldiers saw that you fell to the bottom of the valley, and your life was uncertain. The morale of the army was in chaos, and they were all defeated in the end. The next day, the army of Great Qi Empire had already driven into our capital city. I don't know what the situation is now."

Hearing this, Zhang Tianqing closed her eyes and then coughed violently.

The worst result was finally here.

Currently, she was powerless to reverse the situation.

"General, although the sword pierced your chest, fortunately, it missed your heart by a hair. However, the lung on the side was seriously injured. If there is no medicine to cure it in another day, you... you will die." Wu Shou finally said this result. He choked with sobs and almost wanted to cry.

There was still one more day left for this ruined body...

Why did she wake up again? As soon as she woke up, she remembered the stab that Liang Quanhe had given to her. Her blood froze and she kept trembling.

"And... General..." Wu Shou stuttered. In the end, he took a deep breath, knelt on the ground, and kowtowed. "I didn't know that you were a woman. I only found it out when I bandaged you. But in order to stop bleeding, I had to offend you. Please punish me."

Wu Shou was extremely shocked when he found that Zhang Tianqing was a woman. However, her life was at stake, so he could not think too much about it. He could only take off the soldiers' clothes, tear them into strips, and bandage her wounds. Only then did it barely stop bleeding.

"You're innocent. I won't pay so much attention to it due to the current situation. Get up."

As soon as Zhang Tianqing finished speaking, there were messy footsteps outside the cave. A row of soldiers in the armor of the Great Shun Empire stood at the entrance of the cave with torches in their hands, lighting up the dark cave.

The footsteps stopped, leaving only the crackling of torches. A tall and slender man slowly walked in. He was draped in a long black robe, with snow-white fox fur around his neck. He looked handsome, elegant, yet dignified.

As soon as he stepped into the cave, he seemed to be able to raise the messy tone of the cave by several levels and no one dared to look away.

"Zhang Tianqing, you're finally defeated." The man spoke in a cold voice, like an ice cold wind blowing over ten miles.
