Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Demiurge’s Fanfic Is A Hit

[Yggdrasil Calendar, 5 March 2138. The Sorcerer King actually borrowed a World Item, XXXX, from Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth. They appear to have plotted something together. The Holy Domain God Lord learned of it immediately and attacked both factions. Is the great war finally coming? I suspect the Sorcerer King has already figured out what XXXX truly is.]

[Yggdrasil Calendar, 2 May 2138. The war has begun! The Sorcerer King has gone mad. He actually unleashed a super-tier spell beyond the tenth tier, [Tribute to the Black Goddess of Dark Fertility], upon the Holy Domain God Lord's territory!

That spell killed or wounded more than half of the humans in the Holy Domain God Lord's lands. He will surely die, slain by the enraged Holy Domain God Lord!]

[Yggdrasil Calendar, 3 May 2138. The Holy Domain God Lord alone slaughtered more than half of the Sorcerer King's and Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth's subjects, an eye for an eye. Next, He went hunting for the Sorcerer King and Jaldabaoth, who were hiding somewhere!]

[Yggdrasil Calendar, 9 May 2138. After days in hiding, the Sorcerer King and Jaldabaoth appeared. The World Item XXXX actually possesses a sealing effect. Their ultimate goal was to seal the Holy Domain God Lord! No wonder they were willing to sacrifice most of their own people. How ruthless!

The first- and second-generation Human Emissaries under the Holy Domain God Lord perished.

XXXX activated. The Holy Domain God Lord is being sealed. Is the pinnacle of the world about to fall just like this?

Jaldabaoth and the Sorcerer King will rule the world together…

Wait, Jaldabaoth is ambushing the Sorcerer King!

They're turning on each other!

No. The crucial point is that the World Item XXXX seems to have been pulled by some otherworldly force, and a dragon's phantom has appeared?!

It wants to seize the World Item!

Because of that dragon, the Holy Domain God Lord appears to have loosened the seal slightly. With terrifying power, He turned the sealing force back and enveloped both the Sorcerer King and Jaldabaoth!

A gigantic wormhole appeared in the world. Such terrifying suction! The Holy Domain God Lord, the Sorcerer King, Jaldabaoth… and some others were all sucked in!

I—]

On the final page, a thick stroke of ink trailed off the paper abruptly, as though the diary had been violently wrenched away mid-sentence.

Gulp. Fluder swallowed hard, forcing himself to remain calm.

"Holy Domain God Lord… Sorcerer King… Jaldabaoth… World Item… and the seal…"

His thoughts raced in frantic circles.

...

Watching Fluder's stunned reflection in the crystal, Demiurge's hands unconsciously clenched the fabric of his trousers until the material creaked faintly.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Lord Helant leisurely sipping an iced drink, posture utterly relaxed, as though completely confident that Fluder would swallow every fabricated word.

Demiurge knew the Supreme Being did not personally understand Fluder's personality in detail... or rather, it was beneath him to understand a lower creature's personality. He simply placed absolute trust in his servant's competence.

Under normal circumstances Demiurge held unshakable confidence in deceiving any inferior being except a Supreme Being. Yet now, burdened by Lord Helant's immense faith in him, that confidence dwindled to almost nothing.

What if… he does not believe? I would surely betray Lord Helant's trust!

At the thought, fresh sweat beaded on Demiurge's forehead. It slid slowly down his cheek and dripped onto the polished floor with a tiny, almost inaudible patter.

Seeing this, Helant smiled. It was the first time he had witnessed Demiurge so visibly nervous.

"Hot?" Lord Helant picked up another chilled bottle and placed it beside Demiurge. "Coca-Cola tastes better than Pepsi."

Cool mist rose from the frosted glass. Demiurge's expression shifted instantly from anxiety to overwhelming gratitude at the favor.

"Thank you, my lord."

He accepted the cola with reverence and took a careful sip, imitating Lord Helant exactly.

Sweet chill mixed with crisp fizz flowed across his tongue, down his throat, and settled into his core. The refreshing sensation eased the taut knot of tension within him.

Sharp as ever, Demiurge immediately understood: Lord Helant was calming his nerves in this gentle, considerate way.

Being treated so thoughtfully by a Supreme Being caused Demiurge's eyes to moisten behind his lenses.

Fortunately, the reflective glass concealed the momentary weakness.

He continued to maintain the surveillance spell, watching Fluder's next reaction closely.

...

"If the Holy Domain God Lord is real, then the Sorcerer King must be real too!"

Fluder suddenly exclaimed aloud. His cloudy eyes blazed with unrestrained excitement.

At this moment he no longer cared about the Holy Domain God Lord or Helant.

Reason urged caution: the matter required verification, and the ancient tome demanded skeptical scrutiny.

But his fanatical obsession with magic screamed otherwise. It was all true!

There truly existed a god of magic who had mastered every spell in existence!

"How I wish that god would appear before me this very second!"

Imagining the deity manifesting to personally impart forbidden sorcery, Fluder shakily picked up a quill and began scribbling furiously on a fresh sheet of parchment.

"According to this book, the Sorcerer King was sucked into the wormhole alongside the Holy Domain God Lord… so He is very likely somewhere in this world, watching over the God Lord's affairs. Therefore…"

He wrote two names in bold strokes: Helant, Momon.

"If I invite only Helant, my intentions will be too obvious… let us add Momon."

He placed a small mark beside "Momon." As a dedicated magic caster, Fluder inwardly looked down on warriors.

What could a mere armored fighter possibly reveal about the profound mysteries of magic?

"Hmph." Fluder snorted softly, then replaced the sound with an eager smile. "If I make contact with someone from the Holy Domain God Lord's side, perhaps I will draw the attention of Ainz Ooal Gown, the Sorcerer King…"

"Pfft."

Seeing Fluder's priorities shift so blatantly, Lord Helant nearly sprayed cola across the table.

"Momon's become superfluous?!"

His shoulders shook with suppressed laughter. Helant turned to Demiurge. "Be sure to save this recording. I want to show it to Momonga later."

He could already picture the green glow flashing like a strobe light across Momonga's skeletal face.

"Yes, Lord Helant."

Demiurge was no longer visibly nervous or excited. Beneath his calm exterior, however, fury simmered.

Despicable inferior race, daring to belittle Lord Momonga!

As he stored the images securely with a spell, he quietly began plotting how to deliver a suitable lesson to that man without jeopardizing the Supreme Beings' grander plans.

Once the recording was secured, Lord Helant signaled to continue.

...

Slane Theocracy,

Inside the Clearwater Scripture headquarters.

By the soft glow of a magical lamp on the table, Zinedine carefully pored over a tattered ancient book.

Wearing one of the Six Great Gods' sacred relics, the translation monocle, he copied the faded text onto fresh parchment with steady precision.

"If nothing goes wrong, this book recounts events from before the Six Great Gods and the Eight Greed Kings descended upon this world…"
