Chapter 1 - Intro

"You're such a brat!"

The voice of an elderly woman echoed across the dimly lit room.

"I already told you! I am done with my homework, Grandma!"

The young girl responded, her voice coming out as an annoyed shout

"That doesn't mean you have the right to laze off in your room, young lady!"

"What do you want from me, you old hag?!"

The girl snapped, standing up from her bed,

"You can't waste your life on this farm! Get a life, escape before you're chained down to this hell hole!"

"Father wanted me to take over the farm, so I will do so."

"You're father is dead, Lilly! What he wants doesn't matter!"

"Well..."

The young girl stuttered, her face growing red.

"So are you!"

Suddenly, she lunged forward, slamming her phone into the woman's head, and pushing her over with her other hand

CRACK!

The girl looked around the room, her eyes blinking in confusion,

"Huh?"

"My hands are bleeding..."

She muttered to herself, drooping her head and moving her gaze towards her pale hands,

A small reflective shard found itself lodged nicely into the palm of the girl's left hand, allowing her to see through her skin and flesh, and past the blood to see parts of her bones.

"That hurts..."

Her head tilted to the side, eyes stuck to the beautiful, fountain-like way that the red liquid poured out of her cut right hand, and the way her left hand's pour was slower, coming out as larger, rough pools that were filled with pain, rather than the gentle stream of the other. She compared them for a moment, before she took a slow step forward,

CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!

Once she had stabilized herself, she left the room she once was in, escaping to the one right beside one. One where the darkness couldn't get her. One where light dominated.

The bathroom.

A large room with black and white checkered floors, the walls covered in shelves full of various items such as beauty products or pictures of old times, before the darkness had formed.

"There, you are..."

A sigh of relief escaped the girl's lips, as she grabbed a small stepping stool, the small cut on her right hand widening just barely, causing the water fountain to become more like a waterfall, gracefully pouring onto the tiles.

"Eep!"

A soft, strained noise escaped the girl as she increased her height and reached out towards the top shelf

"Just in range!"

She said with confidence as she grabbed onto a small metal box, lifting it down and placing it down on the floor, sitting down by it, ignoring the art that her waterfall had made.

"Bandages, bandages, bandages, where are you, my sweet bandages?"

She hummed to herself, searching through the box of medical equipment, hoping to find what she was looking for.

"Ahh, there you are!"

A smile grew onto her face as she reached out her right hand towards a small, rust-coloured roll, picking it up and tossing it into the air, watching as it fell back down into her hand, the rusty colour now replaced with fresh red.

"Wash your hands."

"Stop the bleeding.."

"Then you clean the wound..."

"Keep it nice and moist with some petroleum jelly!"

"And then you keep it nice and tucked in, remember to change it once per day!"
