Alicia: We can't be sure it's the cannon. Maybe it's something else.
Hazel: You know what proved my theory right? There is a pocket-dimension signature I picked up while trying to find out something about him.
Iriel: A pocket dimension?
Ely: Is that even real?
Kylock: It is.
Hazel: The only place that contains that kind of signature is a pocket dimension. And that's why his teleportation seemed so easy.
Ryan: Then he was only waiting for the right amount of power to unveil his trump card.
Iriel: Which is why he took your uncle.
Ryan: Your powers for your uncle.(In a sinister low tone)
Ely: If we give him our energy, Marthadon is in danger.
Iriel: He wants us to choose between Marthadon and a person. He's a psychopath.
Alicia: Maybe we can still avoid giving him our powers and save Ryan's uncle.
Her words caught their attention. They all turned toward her, giving her questioning looks and waiting for her to elaborate.
Alicia: Alvarox wants our energy, right? Maybe if we could lure him out with our energy...
Kylock: You're saying that if he could take us into the pocket dimension, you would save Ryan's uncle and destroy the cannon?
Ely: That's a simple sentence with a lot of dangerous actions.
Hazel: And besides, there's practically nothing that can destroy the cannon. There's nothing—
Ely: And who knows? Maybe he would drain our energy into some kind of container and then use it on the cannon.
Kylock: No. He'll need a direct deposit of energy from the source.
Ryan: Then we request a meeting. We give him our energy, get a free ticket into his pocket dimension, and save my uncle.
Iriel: That leaves the cannon and Alvarox.
Hazel: We can destroy the cannon. We can.
Ely: You said it was impossible just now.
Hazel: For us, it is. But for you guys, it's possible, plus your bonded energy
Kylock: How?
Hazel: We smash it.
Alicia: Smash it?
She looked surprised.
Alicia: Like a mug, smash?(trying to get what she was saying)
She placed emphasis on the words.
Hazel: Yes.
Ryan: This thing covers the whole dimension, and you're saying we smash it like it's something minute?
Hazel: You're right. It's hard. And that's not the only hard part. If we're going to smash this thing, we have to bring it out of the pocket dimension and into Marthadon.
Ely: We've not found a way to smash it, and now we have another problem.
Kylock: Let's talk about the smashing first.
Hazel walked up to the screen.
Hazel: The cannon comprises three parts.
The three parts of the cannon appeared on the screen, and she started pointing at each one.
Hazel: The head, the heart, and the tail. The heart is the central part of its energy, and the head, which seems to be the control, is our target. The tail breaks as soon as the heart and the head are destroyed. All you need to do is harness your weapon and strike it. Just make sure you get a direct strike. To the extent possible
Ryan: Seems easy.
Kylock: Trust me, Ryan. It's harder than it looks.
Hazel: So you guys destroy the cannon while he infuses your energy into it.
Iriel: Then that leaves one more threat.
Kylock: Alvarox—the king player.
Hazel: Actually, the king player won't be a problem. When he is about to release the cannon, his energy must be present. That means he would be able to control it while draining your energy. He is also inputting energy.
Kylock: All you just need to do is find a way to break the circuit, and I'm sure your bond could do that.
Ryan: What happens after the connection is broken?
Hazel: Alvarox's energy becomes neutralized.
It was definitely too easy. The legendary Alvarox, taken down in a sentence.
Kylock: We just have to find a way to communicate without his knowledge.
Alicia: I could do that.
Her sentence earned her a questioning look.
Alicia: I can make us communicate telepathically when we get inside the pocket dimension. I haven't tried it, but I think I can.
Ely: That's great.
Iriel: That settles it, then.
Ryan: what are we waiting for
Hazel: Send the message to Alvarox.
The control system immediately came to life. Alvarox appeared on the screen. There was no mask; there was nothing to hide. His expression was enveloped in smiles, as if he had been expecting this. His teeth emphasized how devilish and crazy he was, while darkness moved all around him as if he were standing in the void of space.
Alvarox: Oh, I wasn't expecting you. This fast Ryan Vins, and also, you are not alone. Your friendship really is adorable. So, have you given my offer a little thought?
His words were accompanied by a grin that complemented his devilish tone.
Ryan's expression was unreadable, his voice mixed with zero emotion.
Ryan: We could give you everything. Bring my uncle to me.
Alvarox: I can't believe you are doing this, protectors of the dimension. The legendary Mart Force. You are giving up Marthadon for a life. That stings a bit. Surely, you are trying your best to balance things. You know that shouldn't be my problem it 's your choice,he is important. I meet you at the Meden Forest. Your captain should know.
Alvarox expected them to release their powers easily. He was an idiot if he thought that—or maybe he was expecting something more. Either way, they were just playing his game.
Alvarox vanished from the screen, leaving the shadows of his words and actions to influence a deep silence in the atmosphere.
Ely broke the silence abruptly.
Ely: Let the action begin, right (looking at them)
Ryan: Alvarox, here we come.
It wouldn't be easy. This wasn't the Death Allies or Zadox, but a foe who had proved himself to be formidable. One wrong step could rewrite the fate of Marthadon in no time.
A thin voice beneath their minds whispered that not everything would go as planned.
And, actually, that was definite.
They were getting this weird feeling that the fight with Alvarox would mark the beginning of something dark.
They were teleported into the Meden Forest, the exact location Alvarox had given them. It was beautiful, like every other place in Marthadon, but there seemed to be an invisible tension in the atmosphere, perhaps because of what was about to happen.
Playing captive with Alvarox would that even work?
That a million dollars question
The four of them stood with their hoods over their heads, making them look even more iconic. They stared around for a moment.
Ely: Here we are, guys.
Ryan: you think he would come
Silence followed, accompanied by a short sigh.
Iriel: He would need our energy to power the cannon. He would—
Alicia: He must.
Alvarox instantly appeared right in front of them, leaving a bit of distance between them.
As usual, his imposing aura was intimidating, but it didn't work on them. They were used to it.
This was not the time for fear. A lot was on the line for them.
Ryan's system was flaring up. His soul was antagonizing Alvarox's presence.
Iriel noticed him shaking almost invisibly. It wasn't fear. It was something more—rage.
She moved a little closer to his side and gave him a slight touch.
She wasn't expecting it to work.
He was angry. This was the monster who had taken his uncle. He was right in front of him, but Ryan couldn't even raise a finger.
He was held back by something more than fear ,he was held back by responsibility and selflessness, and she could feel him struggling to cope.
Her gesture was working. It wasn't the romantic gesture she had in mind. She did it as her only means of helping him, but partially, it was romantic.
Fortunately, she wasn't ready to explore what they shared.
Alvarox: Fantastic, Mart Force. I can't believe you came.
Ryan: We did. Where is my uncle?
Alvarox: You can't expect me to come with your uncle, Ryan.
A smirk curled across his black face.
Alvarox: I don't have the bargain yet.
His look was very calm and taunting. He was playing them. His unmasked face made that obvious, and he was enjoying it.
Alicia: You're right. We did.So what now?
Alvarox: Now we visit my cubicle.
Immediately, he created a dark portal, a lot different from the one they've ever seen. It was like a different form of teleportation, very dark form of teleportation
Suddenly, it started sucking them in, surrounding them with blackness.
In seconds, they were sucked in completely.
The portal closed.
Ryan's POV:
Who is fooling who?
