Jay's POV
It was 11 at night.
The city shimmered under the soft glow of the moon. Everything was calm, quiet, peaceful. The silver light slipped through my window, filling my room with a gentle glow.
But my heart?..Not calm at all....It was still fluttering... replaying today over and over again.....Today felt... magical.....Something had changed.....Something soft. Warm. Unexplainable...The kind of feeling you don't know how to put into words... but you know it will stay with you forever...A small smile slowly appeared on my lips.
So... this is what falling in love feels like?
I buried my face into my pillow and laughed softly.....Then suddenly—
I remembered the waiter....A small chuckle escaped my mouth.
He had been teasing us nonstop... observing, predicting, practically planning our future. It was embarrassing.....But also...Strangely nice.....Today was the first time someone had shipped us so seriously.
And the funny thing was...
I didn't hate it.....The memories replayed in my mind like a movie—...Matching outfits....Awkward silences.....Childhood memories...Accidental hand touches.....His nervous smile.
My heart skipped again.
But then—
The smile slowly faded.....Freya.....Ella....The rumor.....The false accusations....The danger hanging over Section E.....If Freya succeeded... Calix and Mica would break.....And if they broke... Section E would fall apart....No....
I sat up immediately and grabbed my phone....I quickly dialed.
Jonathan: "Hello, Jay."
Me: "I need your help."
Jonathan: "Of course. What do you need?"
I took a breath.
Jay: "I need you to hack into the school security system and send me some footage."
There was a short pause.
Then—
Jonathan: "That's easy. Piece of cake. But wait... Edrix is in your section, right? He's a tech genius too. Why not ask him? It would be easier."
I shook my head, even though he couldn't see me.
Jay: "I can't. If I involve him, it might create problems. And this needs to stay quiet."
I then explained everything—Freya....Ella.
The fake rumor....The plan to create misunderstandings.Jonathan listened without interrupting.When I finished, his tone became serious.
Jonathan: "I see... So this isn't just school drama."
Jay: "No. This is damage control."
A small pause.
Then he spoke.
Jonathan: "Give me ten minutes."
Jay: "Thank you."
Jonathan: "Hey. No thanks. Just treat me to dinner someday."
I laughed.
Jay: "Deal."
Ten minutes later, my phone buzzed....A file....Security footage.....I opened it....And slowly...A smile spread across my face....Not a soft smile this time....A sharp one.....A dangerous one.
I leaned back and whispered to myself—
"Sorry, Freya."
I paused.
Then added quietly—
"You play to ruin people."
My eyes hardened as the footage played.
"But I play to protect them."
I closed the file and locked my phone.
"Game on."
Keifer's POV
I was rolling on my bed thinking about today's embarassing moments... God!!!... If embarrassment had a face, I'd probably be their brand ambassador.....noway I am going back to that cafe again'....but then my mind landed onto jay ...all my frustrations soothed away with a gentle refreshing smile...with that matching outfits we really looked like a couple....I hid my face ...How badly I want to turn this situationship with her into something real...i sighed...okay let's give us some time....my phone suddenly buzzed..
I saw the caller ID...it was the most unexpected person ever...
Keifer: ( voice cold) why did you call me at this time?
From the other side: missed me ?
Keifer: I . Said.why .did .you.call .me ?
That person: calm down!
Keifer: what the fuck you want?
That person: Tss!!! ...you rascal...just wanted to inform you about next week's meet up cum ( giving a pause) you know what I mean...
Keifer: when ?
That person: as usual...
I hang up ...my body tensed...I have to get rid of them...and ofcourse they can't know about my Jay ...never...
