Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Raven was still trying to figure out what he was going to do. Letting his friend walk into a trap wasn't the type of thing that he would normally let happen. He was pacing back and forth in the main room of the cannery. He was talking to himself now, keeping his voice low enough where no one but him could hear it. He looked over to Kara and she was moving and it looked like she was waking up and that meant he should leave. He didn't really want to explain anything to her, and besides, he had no obligation to explain himself to anyone else.

Silas had to stay here and protect the cannery, aka their clubhouse, and Kara. He didn't know what that man was going to do and at this moment he didn't really care. Raven walked over to the door and walked out it. When he got outside he noticed how silent it was; it felt odd and a bit uneasy. The parking lot only had Silas's Honda Civic in it. The Honda Civic had rust spots on it and the front bumper was falling off, and at that moment he wondered where the old motorcycles were. If he was going to act like a cowboy he'd need a noble steed.

He walked around to the back of the cannery. There was a small wooden garage; it was nothing great looking, just a wooden building with a roof and a door that could be pushed and pulled to open it. He walked closer to it and as he did he got an odor of leather, rust, and old gasoline. Now the bikes hadn't been used in quite some time and he knew he would have to get some fresh gas for 'em.

The wind blew as he approached the wooden building. Was that some sort of bad omen for things that might come later? He hoped it wasn't. The rope was on the outside of the garage door and the truth was the door was barely holding on and the wooden building had seen better days. There were holes in a few panels of wood; it looked like termites had gotten to it. The odor of the gas filled his nostrils; it was nasty. It smelled like a mix of urine and cheap whisky.

Raven pulled back the door to reveal a black Harley Davidson motorcycle. It looked beat up; it had a busted headlight and it had a few scratches on the paint, but other than that he thought it looked okay. It definitely wasn't road legal right now and he didn't care about that right now. He walked over to it and touched it, ran his hands up and down the body of the motorcycle like he was touching a beautiful supermodel. "I don't even know if you run," he said as he looked at the bike. This was the only way he was going to get to Tobias.

He knew a thing or two about motorcycles and cars, for that matter. He knew that the gasoline in the motorcycle wasn't good and he'd need to go and get more. It was a tedious task he needed to do. If more people had shown up to the clubhouse, he'd just delegate that to someone else and not do it himself. He sighed. Good thing there was a gas station just around the corner. He spotted a bright red plastic gas can in the corner. It had some dust and cobwebs on it, but it'd do. He grabbed it and then walked to the gas station around the corner.

This was a bit too convenient for him and he wasn't sure if the gas station came before or after the cannery. It was smart though. People needed gas to get to and from work, and having a gas station near your place of work was a godsend. He dug out his wallet and took out his debit card and then pushed it into the slot at the gas pump. He bought a gallon of gas. Price flashed on the screen: $5.25. Fucking gas prices were getting outrageous. He needed it though.

He twisted the spout off of the gas can and then pushed the nozzle from the pump into the gas can and filled it up. It only took a few minutes for him to fill it up; a few cars went by and he could hear them slowing down, that meant they were looking at him. Could these be Moira's goons trying to place where the murder was? At this point he didn't care; he would have a run-in with them soon enough.

After the gas can was filled he hung up the nozzle at the gas pump and put the spout back on the gas can.

He power-walked back to the wooden shed out back of the cannery. He poured the gas into the motorcycle's gas tank and threw the gas can into the corner. Walking over to one of the shelves, he spotted a metal box and opened it up. He took the keys to the motorcycle out. He walked over to the motorcycle and mounted it, sliding the keys into the ignition.

"Hell's yes!" Raven exclaimed as he twisted the key in the ignition and the motorcycle came to life. There was some clanking sound coming from the engine and he assumed that was alright.

Tobias's heart began to pound harder as he saw the garage door open. He could see outlines of two big people standing by the door and it was safe to assume that those two people were two of Moira's enforcers, and the only thing that popped into his head was: where were Marcus and Ms. Cheng? Did they have the two members of the murder tied or chained up somewhere? His eyes locked on both of the big guys.

He wondered if these guys were taking bets on if he would show or not; he knew if he was put in the same situation, him and his friends would start taking bets. He killed the power to the truck and then slowly got out of it. He was also assuming something else: that they thought he was going to come unarmed. It'd be stupid to go into enemy territory unarmed, but truthfully he was the weapon. He didn't really need the gun.

He noticed the odor that was in the air: cheap whisky, overpriced cigars, and cheap cologne. Yeah, that is how most of the enforcers smelled, and he started walking towards the now open garage door and his keen hearing sense kicked in and he could hear the two whispering about something. He couldn't really make out what they were talking about and truthfully he wasn't really paying attention to that. He knew both of them were going to be muscle heads and he did smell scents of dog within these two as well.

He dug out a cigarette out of his pocket and lit it. The smoke from his cigarette rolled around his body and made a sort of shadow smoke force field around him. His eyes were locked on the two brutes that he could see, and could there be more? Yes, there could be, but that didn't matter right now. It took him two minutes to finish the cigarette and throw the butt of the cigarette on the ground. This was a bit odd; why didn't they come after him? Had there been orders to keep him alive? Oh, that wouldn't be that fun. He was hoping to have a good fight and blow off some steam.

So is this how it was going to go down? He needed to actually go into the garage? That seemed a bit overkill to him. What was going to happen? The garage door closes behind him and he was at their mercy? He was stuck in there with them? Nah, they'd be stuck in there with him. He slowly walked towards the bay door. The anticipation was probably killing those jackasses. No one was yelling out anything, no profanity and no one was taunting him. Something didn't seem right about this. He already knew this was a trap.

He walked into the garage through the bay door and immediately the door came crashing down behind him and two brutes approached him and they were cracking their knuckles and it looked like it was time to get down to business and Tobias took a quick glance around the garage. He could hear gagged muffles coming from one of the rooms and that meant Ms. Cheng and Marcus were alive.

Raven sat on the motorcycle and it was idling and he drove it out of the wooden shed and as he came around the corner to the parking lot he saw black SUVs pull into the driveway. "Fuck!" Raven screamed as he parked the motorcycle and got off of it and looked at the SUVs and brutes got out and then approached the cannery. Raven was at a dead sprint as he ran at one of them and tackled them to the ground and then got on top of him and started punching him in the face as he did this the brute's face started to bleed.

"Silas run!" Raven screamed as he pounded away on the brute.

"Silas run!" Raven screamed as he pounded away on the brute. He wasn't really that worried about Silas he was more worried about Kara and what they might do to that girl. The brute got the better of him and flipped him off of him and then he pinned Raven to the ground and started beating on him. There was a sickening thud sound with every hit. The brute's knuckles started to bleed and Raven's blood started to cover his hands.

Three brutes rushed the cannery and then the door opened and Silas and Kara opened fire with a bunch of small pistols. Silas hit two of the brutes in the forehead and they dropped dead almost immediately and then Kara shot one in the head and then ran up and stabbed him in the gut with her switch blade knife.

"Thought I was just a pretty face huh?" Kara said with a smug little smile on her face. The blood from her switchblade dripped down onto the ground before she wiped it on her shirt. "Never leave the house without her." Kara added as she pushed the blade back into the knife and both Kara and Silas looked over to where Raven was. Black SUVs this had to be something Moira had planned. Probably thought this place would be empty or it'd just have Raven and Toby inside of it.

Raven timed it just right in between the brute's punches he headbutted the brute and then got back to his feet and began stomping on the brute's head and chest as hard as he could and then landed a swift kick to the brute's chest. "We don't go down so easily." Raven said and then there was breathing room where the brute pushed himself up off of the ground after spitting up some blood. His eyes were deadlocked on Raven like he was zooming in on his target.

"No one thought you black poultry motherfuckers would go down easily." The brute said with a laugh, there was a visceral roar and growl mixed as the brute revealed his true form. A werewolf. All three of them looked at the werewolf with horror and it ran at Raven and picked him up by his neck and threw him at the cannery. A giant metallic thud could be heard and with a flash burst of speed the brute followed up with a giant kick to Raven which sent him flying through the wall of the cannery. Blood swirled around inside of Raven's mouth and he then pushed himself up off of the ground and spit out the blood.
