Amara's POV

"I bet Roland couldn't even remember his own lecture word for word!"

Being around people my own age felt completely foreign to me—like I'd landed on some strange planet where I didn't understand the social rules.

After hesitating for a moment, I figured honesty was my best bet. "I have hyperthymesia."

"Hyper-what?" The group exchanged bewildered looks, some of them tilting their heads in confusion.

Most had clearly never encountered anything quite like it before.

I gave a casual shrug. "It means I remember everything. My brain doesn't let go of memories."

"No way!" The kids around me erupted in amazement, some already grabbing their phones to search it up.

Penelope, who sat directly in front of me, whipped around wearing a smirk that practically screamed mischief. "Come on, Amara, we're not in elementary school anymore. Nobody's falling for the whole 'I'm a walking computer' routine."
