Bella's POV
I watched as the fury in Victor's eyes melted away, replaced by something almost worshipful.
He dropped into a deep bow, hands clasped. "Prince Caspian."
Time stretched on, but I heard no voice from inside the carriage granting him permission to rise.
I could see Victor's face go rigid, completely lost as to why he was being ignored.
Caspian was ice-cold and distant, his moods impossible to read.
None of the royal siblings dared to challenge Caspian. They all treated him with absolute deference.
While Caspian kept his distance from the other heirs, he'd never deliberately made their lives difficult before.
But today, in front of everyone, Caspian had utterly humiliated him.
I could tell Victor was still trying to figure out his next move when a massive shadow fell over him.
Caspian stood so close now, towering like a cliff face, swallowing all the light overhead.
An arctic chill cut straight through the air, making every hair on my body rise.
