I followed the techniques Caspian had shown me, working with the hidden weapons for a while.
Soon enough, my body started protesting.
Even though these were supposedly hidden weapons, for someone like me who'd never touched them before, the challenge felt overwhelming.
'Why are my arms burning like this after such a short time?' I wondered, but I wasn't about to quit. I clenched my jaw and pushed through the ache.
Just as I prepared to continue my training, Caspian stopped me. "Come. Have some water."
Beneath the banyan tree, Caspian's sharp features and intense, thoughtful gaze made him stand out from everyone else. But in one brief, careless moment, I caught something unexpected—a hint of gentleness that softened his usually commanding presence.
Too bad I wasn't really looking at Caspian properly.
When I glanced over, all I noticed was him filling a cup with water. His hands were almost ridiculously perfect, flawlessly shaped.
