The T bar did not move, it stayed at 93%. Steady, unblinking. It had already decided something and wasn't in a hurry. The countdown for 'DANGEROUS LOVE' continued overhead, numbers bleeding red across the ceiling. 06:23:57:12, 06:23:57:11. Terrence stood a step away from me, calm in a way that made the others restless. He didn't look like he was competing, he looked like he had arrived.
"Okay. No. Pause. Somebody explain why the apocalypse walked in wearing black."Wanessa's grip on my wrist tightened.
"He didn't just walk in. He entered."Xavier gave a humorless laugh.
"He is not bound by current route logic. Aiden adjusted his glasses slowly.
Zavier didn't speak as his arm remained around my waist, firm, protective, but he didn't drag me back this time.
Terrence noticed. His gaze slid to Zavier's hand, then back to his face.
"You're holding her like she belongs to a timeline." Terrence said evenly.
