Chapter 89 - Chapter 89 Twenty Players Combined Can't Compare to a Fraction of Galen Yu

"Holy crap, infinite rails?"

Fries was startled.

Although he knew Galen Yu's feats were always mind-blowing, this was creating something out of thin air!

The implications were entirely different!

"Is it just rails, or does this work for other items too?"

If other blocks could be handled similarly, what would that mean?

As long as he had a single block, would Galen Yu have an infinite supply of that type?

That was terrifying!

"Headmaster Quill, something big has happened!"

He rushed to inform Headmaster Quill.

[Congratulations to Nine Provinces player, Galen Yu, for inventing the Infinite Rail Machine!]

[Chunk Score +5!]

[As the first creator, the Nine Provinces will enjoy exclusive privileges for this new tool!]

[Within this civilization, players from other nations cannot use the Infinite Rail Machine for ten days!]

[In other civilizations, the Nine Provinces holds a three-day early access period for the Infinite Rail Machine. Players from other nations will be granted access after three days!]

Back on the Sky Island, Galen Yu watched the rails continuously popping out with a calm expression.

An Infinite Rail Machine was a relatively basic device in the world of Redstone.

Going further up, those massive contraptions—Star Destroyers, heavy artillery—had everything you could imagine.

One could even build phones and computers, allowing for the feat of playing Minecraft inside Minecraft.

It was actually quite entertaining...

He surrounded the rail machine with glass to prevent the ejected rails from flying everywhere.

Perpetual motion machines might be unscientific, but in the block world, they existed. It was perfectly logical block-physics.

He connected a hopper to a chest to catch the flying rails.

Carrying five stacks of rails, he continued laying down blocks.

It was worth noting that Chunk Scores were calculated based on the blocks placed by a player.

They only counted if they were placed adjacent to an existing chunk, and the rails were being laid from the Sky Island outwards.

Thus, every rail placed effectively turned that spot into Galen Yu's chunk.

He mined any valuable blocks he found; the remaining stone and grass blocks were common, but their sheer quantity was impressive.

There were also some lapis lazuli and iron ores he left behind due to limited inventory space. Consequently, notifications chimed every time he paved a section.

[Through tireless effort, congratulations! Your Chunk Score has increased by 1!]

[...]

"By laying rails, the area becomes Galen Yu's chunk!"

"You can play like that? Not only does it stop zombies from spawning, but it expands his territory too?"

"In just this short time, he's earned ten points. That's more than Soren Park's effort for over half a month!"

"Wasn't this supposed to be a zombie defense project? How did you turn it into a territorial conquest?"

"It's practically an expeditionary campaign. Who can even argue with this?"

The audience didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

After several days, new areas had spawned around the Sky Island. He explored the resources first, then filled every possible monster spawning spot with rails.

Even for walls where rails couldn't be placed, he brought out the Moonworm Queen and stuck several Moonworms onto them.

These worms didn't move around and emitted a bright light as long as they weren't destroyed.

Just like torches, they provided light that lasted as long as the world itself.

Again, this was based on the principles of block-physics—bizarre, but entirely reasonable.

Half a day passed, and most of the area was now covered in rails by Galen Yu.

Standing on the Great Wall, one could see connected tracks as far as the eye could reach.

With a thought, the rankings appeared.

[Current Comprehensive Chunk Score: 83 (Miniature Chunk)]

[Player Ranking: 1]

A full eighty points, and that didn't even include the score for the Great Wall, his Mythic building.

Since it wasn't a true "Ten-Thousand-Mile" Great Wall yet—only a section—it could technically provide a score.

The reason it wasn't included wasn't for any other reason than the Architect being dissatisfied. He believed it still needed improvement and was using Runed Bricks to modify it.

It was clear the Architect possessed the spirit of a true craftsman, a perfectionist.

Since he was firmly in first place anyway, he could afford the time.

"Next, I just have to wait for nightfall to see the results!"

After being busy for so long, night was approaching.

Galen Yu snapped off a piece of sugar cane and chewed on it, waiting while enjoying life.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

The power of players was great. After a whole day of labor, Pumpkin Island finally looked brand new.

Hilltops and uneven spots were filled or leveled, and torches were placed throughout most of the chunks.

"Finally, most of it is done!"

Looking at the brightly lit chunks with only a few small gaps left, Mark breathed a deep sigh of relief.

It was faster than he had expected!

He thought it would take two days, but it was almost finished in one.

Truly, players were the most precious resource!

"My Pumpkin Island is huge, yet I covered it in torches in a single day. This kind of influence and leadership..."

"...is unmatched across all civilizations!"

He felt proud and smug, unaware that...

...the bullet chats on the screens had long been taken over by the Nine Provinces audience.

"I thought a dozen people would be efficient, but this doesn't look like much at all!"

"It took them this long just to cover that tiny bit of land? Are their legs failing them? Can't they walk?"

"Why is there still a gap? Are they leaving it for zombies to spawn?"

"Great God Galen Yu covered the entire surrounding area with rails in just one day. Sigh, their efficiency really is too slow!"

"If the rail machine worked faster, it probably would've taken him only half a day, right?"

"What? You say they don't have resources? Can't you just push this stuff with a piston?"

"Oh, it turns out that among nearly twenty players, not a single one knows what Redstone is!"

As the comments flew by, the Freedom Nation audience remained silent.

"Oh, it turns out that among nearly twenty players, not a single one knows what Redstone is!"

As the comments flew by, the Freedom Nation audience remained silent.

They were as pathetic as defeated dogs!

Just a moment ago, they were boasting about how handsome and overbearing Mark was, how he intimidated twenty other players, and how high his efficiency was.

In the blink of an eye, he was defeated by Galen Yu alone.

It proved that trash is always trash, even when a pile of trash huddles together.

They won't turn into a powerhouse; they'll just be a bigger pile of trash...

The Blonde Elder could only suppress his anger and summon the Intelligence Department.

"Redstone's value is immeasurable. Research it based on Galen Yu's methods. We must create a Redstone device in the shortest time possible!"

Although he agreed verbally, the Intelligence Director felt bitter in his heart.

He also knew that manual labor couldn't compete with machines, but were Redstone devices really that easy to make?

They couldn't even figure out a crafting recipe after half a day, and now a Redstone device?

"Huh? Me? Make a Redstone device?"

"Isn't that just making things impossible for us!"

But since the Blonde Elder had spoken, he could only agree for now and figure out the specific measures later.

Unaware of what was happening outside, Mark looked incredibly tense.

"Tonight is destined to be a sleepless night."

A blood-red moon rose from the horizon, emitting a terrifying light.

A Blood Moon!

The zombies would become more numerous and stronger!

They were already extremely difficult to deal with, and now there were random areas appearing at unknown times.

The pressure on Mark intensified.

"New chunk blocks have appeared!"

A player shouted, and looking in that direction, blocks had indeed appeared.

Unlike ordinary blocks, these new ones held something truly loathsome.

Spawners!

"No, we have so many players. We will definitely survive!"

He seemed to be comforting the others, but it sounded more like he was comforting himself.

Between the Blood Moon and the spawners, he knew all too well how terrifying these monsters could be.

Mark and Jett's bodies trembled slightly.
