Chapter 58 - Chapter 58 Slaying the Hydra, Five Thousand Points for One Boss!

To make zombies fight other zombies, Mark relied on the Lich Scepter, a magical creation.

He could only spawn nine at a time, and restoring its durability required rotten flesh and magic potions.

In contrast, Galen Yu didn't need a scepter; he crushed the challenge purely through his tactics!

The Druids were originally meant to hinder progress and increase the challenge, but for Galen Yu...

They were turned directly into Loyal Zombies to work for him!

"It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter."

The Blonde Elder's brow furrowed again as he comforted himself aloud.

"A single zombie is only worth 0.5 points. His efficiency can't compare to Mark and the others."

"We are still in the lead!"

Besides the zombies, they could also obtain extra crafting recipes through books!

Overall, they would still win!

"It seems Galen Yu doesn't want to stay in the hut for too long?"

The Blonde Elder understood.

The monster spawner's speed wasn't that fast; it certainly couldn't compare to the zombie tide during a Blood Moon.

Staying any longer would only slow down the rate of points earned, plus there was the risk of injury. Leaving was normal.

But looking at his current direction...

"He's headed for the swamp. This area is blocked by a barrier. Does he want to find a boss?"

The absence of a barrier and the blindness effect proved that the restrictions had been lifted.

After walking just a few steps, a health bar indeed appeared.

[ENTERING HOSTILE AREA: DEEP WITHIN THE FIRE SWAMP!]

[HYDRA]

The Twilight Swamp and the Fire Swamp were distributed in an interlocking concave-convex structure, adjacent to one another.

As the boss health bar appeared, Galen Yu quickly arrived at the Hydra's lair.

Looking from a distance...

One could clearly see the massive, green-bodied monster with nine giant serpent heads.

It was even more massive than the Naga, standing there like a towering mountain!

"The fourth boss, the Hydra?"

"It's even bigger than the Naga. The pressure is immense!"

"I say this is the largest creature to appear so far. No one disagrees, right?"

"It has nine heads. Does he have to cut them all off to kill it?"

"Its attack power is so high! The zombies that got close were all instantly killed!"

"With it being this powerful, is God Galen actually here to challenge it?"

"No way, he's going to fight a boss in the middle of a zombie tide?"

Generally, the larger the creature, the stronger it was.

Most creatures followed this logic.

Iron Golems were taller than normal creatures, so they had over a hundred health and extremely high attack power.

Zombies were about the same size as players, and their stats were similar as well.

On a boss level, the Hydra's massive body was enough to strike fear into anyone's heart!

For those who might think it was a paper tiger, one only had to follow Galen Yu's gaze.

Many Crisis Zombies appeared on the ground, sensing their territory being invaded.

The Hydra opened its wide maws and bit down.

Even an Elite Zombie wearing chainmail and wielding a golden sword couldn't withstand the attack.

It was instantly killed in a single bite!

Ordinary zombies had stats similar to players, but these were mutated Crisis Zombies, much stronger than the normal ones!

This showed that the monster's strength was definitely not to be underestimated!

Even in normal conditions, one would need to be fully prepared and have no zombie tide interference to have a hope of defeating it.

The current environment was clearly far from ideal.

The Hydra's damage was incredibly high.

Even wearing a full set of diamond armor, one would likely die instantly if hit by a bite.

Its bite force far exceeded that of an adult hyena!

If using ranged attacks, a mythical creature like this had its own special traits.

Beyond twenty meters, all ranged attacks were ineffective and would deal no damage.

Even if using ranged weapons, one had to get as close as possible, causing the difficulty to skyrocket.

It had three attack patterns: explosive fireballs, fire breath, and biting.

Under normal circumstances, to defeat the Hydra, one had to be familiar with these three attack patterns.

For example, smoke would billow from its mouth when using fireballs, lava would seep out during fire breath, and it would drool when preparing to bite...

One had to adjust their movement based on these three patterns, circling the Hydra as much as possible to prevent being killed by a sudden bite.

Fire resistance potions were a must before the battle; since two of the three attacks were fire-related, the potion would significantly lower the difficulty.

Knowing all this...

Galen Yu brought absolutely nothing with him.

He didn't even bring a shield, replacing it with the Peacock Feather Fan.

He charged straight in front of the Hydra, staring up at the massive creature.

Standing before it, one felt even more miniscule compared to the Hydra's mountain-like, majestic body.

After biting a nearby zombie to death, the Hydra noticed this human intruder.

Smoke rose from its mouth; it was clearly preparing to spit a fireball.

The fireball mechanism was the same as a Ghast's, meaning it could be deflected for damage, but Galen Yu didn't use that tactic.

He took out the Mace and struck lightly, triggering the wind burst effect that launched him into the air.

Combined with the Peacock Feather Fan, he soared high up, flying right above the Hydra's heads.

This move, pulling something out of thin air, left many viewers stunned.

"He suddenly flew that high?"

"Was that a Hydra attack? Did it knock God Galen flying?"

"My acrophobia can't handle this!"

"I admire God Galen's mental fortitude; he doesn't even blink at this height!"

"The Mace seems to have a flight effect, but it wasn't this high when he fought the Naga!"

"Whether it was a Hydra attack doesn't matter. I just want to know, can God Galen survive a fall from this height?"

Falling deals damage.

The higher the place, the higher the fall damage.

"Is he seeking death?"

The Blonde Elder naturally knew that the Mace had fall protection, but looking at the distance...

This was twice the height from before!

Could Galen Yu really survive this?

Reaching the highest point, his body dropped in a straight line. Boom!

[-180!]

Triggering a critical hit, Galen Yu landed steadily on the ground.

He actually survived the fall!

His boots came with Feather Falling IV, and combined with his weapon and items, he wasn't afraid of falling at all!

However, given the height, Galen Yu did take some damage after all.

He lost four points of health, exactly two full hearts!

This was exactly the extra health he had gained from eating Meef Salad; he still had ten hearts left, so it was as if he hadn't lost anything!

Instead, because of the height, his single strike dealt nearly two hundred damage.

The Hydra's health dropped by half instantly!

"It's that move again! An epic-tier weapon—the Mace is invincible!"

Fries was beyond shocked.

He thought dealing a hundred damage to the Naga was the limit.

At least, he didn't think it could be improved much in a short time.

Not much time had passed, and yet the damage had doubled, reaching two hundred in a single hit!

Even a boss couldn't withstand that kind of damage!

With one more swing of the hammer, the majestic Hydra's health bar was emptied.

The battle, which was expected to be extremely difficult and long, ended in an instant.

It was so easy it was hard to believe!

But what Fries couldn't have imagined was yet to come.

[FIRST KILL OF MINI-CHUNK LORD, HYDRA. BONUS REWARDS: HYDRA CHOP 5, FIERY BLOOD 15.]

[HYDRA DEFEATED. SCORE +5000!]

[PLAYER RANKINGS]

[1ST PLACE: NINE PROVINCES, SCORE 5480]

[2ND PLACE: FREEDOM NATION, SCORE 512]

[3RD PLACE: NAGA (KAPIL), SCORE 246]

A full five thousand points!

Previously, they could still compete using certain mechanics, but now the Freedom Nation's ranking was utterly crushed!

Their score barely reached a fraction of his.

"A single boss is worth five thousand points?"

"This is worth so much more than scepters or exploration!"

"If only we had killed the Lich a bit later, we could have had five thousand points too!"

"No, God Galen got five thousand points because he killed the Hydra. Could a Lich even be as strong as a Hydra?"

"Even if we killed the Lich, it would be hard to compare..."
