Chapter 79 - Chapter 79 Ever Heard of a Nine-Shot Bow? A Volley of Ten Thousand Arrows

In the game, skeletons have three variants.

They are the Bogged of the swamps, the Charred Skeletons of the deserts, and the Strays of the snowy plains.

As variants, they possess abilities that ordinary skeletons do not.

Specifically, they use special arrows!

Bogged arrows carry a poison effect, Charred arrows carry weakness, and Stray arrows carry slowness.

Now that the skeletons are enhanced, the arrows of all three variants are concentrated into one entity; a skeleton's shot will randomly carry one of these three effects.

Once she understood this, the first one to lose patience was the Snow Queen.

Having lost her status as a boss, she was now a dedicated and high-quality servant.

Ice condensed beneath her as she slowly flew into the sky.

The frozen clouds would ward off all damage, preventing skeleton arrows from harming her as she cast her ice magic.

One after another, Ice Crystals appeared, leaving frost on the ground while damaging nearby zombies.

After laying down a layer of Ice Crystals, she flew beside the skeletons and slammed down hard, utilizing her protective frozen clouds.

The Snow Queen had a full two hundred health points, and each attack could deal ten points of damage; she definitely possessed boss-level strength.

With every few attacks, many skeletons and zombies would fall.

Conversely, the skeleton arrows all struck her clouds, unable to deal any damage. Even if one happened to hit...

That tiny amount of damage was utterly insignificant in the face of two hundred health points!

"It's not fair! Why does Galen Yu have a boss-level servant?"

"We're all individual contestants. How can he be so overpowered?"

"Listen to that salty tone. So what if he's overpowered?"

"He earned it with his own skill. If you're so capable, why don't you recruit a boss too?"

"Exactly. The rules never said you can't turn a boss into a servant. I don't know what you're whining about!"

Some in the bullet chat were making accusations but were immediately dogpiled.

A few snide remarks were normal, but regarding the boss...

Not only was it allowed by the rules, but there was even a suspicion that it was encouraged.

Every time aggro was triggered, they would receive messages from the Miniature Chunk Lord, proving that bosses were also members of the Chunk Civilization.

And every level of a chunk was subordinate to a higher one; the meaning was very clear.

Enslaving a boss was a normal way to play; it's just that most players hadn't figured it out yet.

Or rather, they were too weak and didn't deserve such high-end gameplay...

However, even with the assistance of the Snow Queen and the Guard Villagers...

One could see the zombies still approaching the walls at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"It is a Blood Moon after all. So many monsters are spawning that even the Snow Queen can't kill them all!"

"Psh, just consider it us letting you win. So what if you have boss-level help?"

"You think we actually care!"

"Yeah, right. You don't care, yet you're so worked up that you're just being stubborn."

"A few days ago, you lot were the most anxious ones, and now you say you don't care?"

"To be honest though, I feel like even without his servants, Galen Yu would still handle the Blood Moon easily..."

It had to be said, that last comment in the chat felt right.

Calling the Snow Queen back, Galen Yu planned to take the field himself.

She looked imposing, but in reality, she only had four skills: summoning ice crystals, the falling slam, ice breath, and frozen clouds.

Dealing with a few zombie players was fine, but her effectiveness wasn't as pronounced in a massive scene like this.

He took out just a single arrow and aimed at a distant skeleton.

"Using an arrow to have a shootout with skeletons?"

At the Research Institute, Fries saw through Galen Yu's intent.

It wasn't easy to obtain a bow and arrow from the Snow Queen to have a long-range attack method.

This was certainly worth celebrating.

But from the perspective of another contestant like Mark, the skeletons at this stage were clearly a bit too strong in this regard. One or two were fine, but now it was a Blood Moon, and there were countless skeletons as far as the eye could see.

If he were hit, those three negative effects wouldn't be pleasant...

While he was thinking this, Galen Yu had already drawn the bowstring to its limit and launched an attack at a distant skeleton.

Whoosh!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Just as he was about to say something, Fries saw a full nine arrows fly out, causing his eyes to widen.

"One bow, one arrow, nine attacks?!"

Making sure he hadn't misseen, Fries fell into a state of doubt.

"The Tri-Bow, as the name implies, can fire more arrows. So this bow is actually this strong?"

As a drop from the final boss, the Snow Queen, it seemed a bit outrageous, but it was somewhat reasonable when you thought about it carefully.

Since the Twilight Forest was a completely new dimension, having a weapon that exceeded the normal world was standard.

While he was thinking this.

"Pfft! Cough, cough!"

Choking on his own spit, Fries was so shocked he was speechless.

Headmaster Quill happened to be passing by and asked in confusion.

"Fries, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"That shouldn't be right. After these few national destiny rewards, the health rate in the Nine Provinces has skyrocketed. Many minor illnesses have almost disappeared."

Pointing at the screen, Headmaster Quill realized that Galen Yu had done something shocking yet again.

Sure enough, he saw nine arrows fly out, hitting three zombies and two skeletons respectively, while the remaining four arrows hit the ground.

He thought it would end there, but the next moment.

Boom!

Thunder flashed, and between the arrows, a beam of light formed an electric grid.

Any creature that touched it would suffer continuous electrical damage, instantly killing two nearby skeletons.

"One bow and one arrow fires nine?"

"Are you crazy or am I? Is the Tri-Bow's power really this high?"

"Fine, the arrow count can be understood as the weapon's strength, but what's with this electric grid?"

"A Tri-Bow that also carries magic damage? It's broken!"

"Wait, I watched the whole livestream. This didn't happen when he first got the bow and did a test fire, did it?"

"He spent all day at the Enchanting Table. Could Great God Galen Yu have enchanted some new gadget?"

"Very likely! Is enchanting actually this incredible?!"

A normal Tri-Bow could fire two extra arrows, and its damage wasn't actually different from a regular bow.

But after enchanting, things were different now.

It was a world-shaking change!

The basic three-to-nine shot transformation, followed by the damage being increased several-fold through Power, and now with the addition of the Electric Grid.

The viewers had never had such a direct realization of the massive gap between a weapon before and after 'enchanting'!

'So this is the effect of the Electric Grid.'

Since it was also his first time applying it in combat, Galen Yu had a sudden realization.

Although the drop rate was very low, these new effects that popped up every now and then were truly a bit exaggerated!

He continued to aim and fire. Because the 'nine-shot bow' fired a full nine arrows...

Galen Yu didn't even really need to aim; he just casually sent a sky full of arrows flying.

"A volley of ten thousand arrows!"

Arrows fell all over the sky. Even if they didn't hit, they would generate an electric grid, blocking the zombies' advance.

On Mushroom Island, Soren Park surveyed the surroundings warily.

Ever since the block resources refreshed, he had to be ready to face the enemy at any moment, not knowing where a few zombies or skeletons might suddenly appear.

Hurriedly mining the four blocks of iron ore that had appeared outside, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"It looks like I'll be able to sleep soundly tonight!"

Walking to his doorstep, a crackling sound caught his attention.

Having never heard such a sound before, he looked toward the source with confusion.

He was terrified by the scene outside the sky island.

"Galen Yu has a long-range weapon? It's this strong?"

"Wait, I'm his neighbor, and I even blew up his building."

"I'm screwed!"
