Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Eleanor PoV

I felt much better telling everything to someone-well not everything, but enough to make myself feel better. I was embarrassed that I was caught crying, so I tried my hardest to avoid his gaze.

Silas was trying to figure out if I was alright . I buried my face on my lap, struggling to control my tears .

"Are you okay?" Silas asked. Tears spilled; Silas got the cue, so he didn't try to talk to me - or look at me for a while.

After regaining my composure. "Can you find me a bottle of water?"

"Sure" he used his ability to get me a bottle.

I quickly drank the water to ease the soreness from my voice. I splashed some water onto my eyes to remove the evidence. I'd rather be caught dead than seen crying in front of these people.

"How is my eyes now?"

"Better" he said. "Still puffy"

Silas used his ability to bring me some ice.

He brought some ice and gently pressed it to one of my eyes while I held the other.

He didn't say much, but he helped without hesitation. I thought I'd be pitied if I say my side of the story, but he treated me as if nothing happened.

That relieved me more than I had expected.

Silas PoV

Eleanor regained her composure quicker than I had expected. The mask she wore was flawless-no one could peak in unless she allowed them to .

"Thanks" she said , a rare smile on her face.

".. "

I didn't reply. I didn't think I had really done anything. I couldn't even bring myself to say comforting words—but she looked better, and that was all that mattered.

"Let's go" she said switching back her expression.

I followed her quietly the people in the room were still gossiping about her. I was annoyed, I couldn't understand how they could talk about someone right in front of them.

"Ahem"

Eleanor turned their attention towards her immediately .

" I am the one who's going to lead this evacuation mission." She said calmly "If you don't want to get caught in the crossfire listen carefully."

Her fist clenched ,but her face revealed none of the turmoil.

" Silas here would use his ability to open a portal to the main headquarters. you will transfer all weapons through it . I don't want any of our weapons falling to the enemy's hands—and I don't want anyone captured either.

She completed her speech and signalled me.

I opened a portal and the people began transferring the weapons back to the headquarters. Without saying anything else Eleanor continued to oversee the process.

After making sure all the people left. We ate something filling ourselves.

"Bring team A and team B here" she said.

I opened a portal to where the team B located. Leading them a boy not taller than 5'3 entered. Despite his height he carried an intimidating presence . The people around him walked with caution, unwilling to provoke him -except Carol.

He was the complete opposite to Eleanor.

"You made us wait longer than planned" Noah said in an impatient tone. The people surrounding flinched, both Eleanor and Noah were at the same rank, yet the older members treated them differently .

".."

Eleanor did not answer.

"Jeez" Noah scoffed "u can at least come up with some excuse".

"It's nothing." Eleanor replied smoothly. "Let's go with our plan."

This seemed to tick him off, but he didn't reply back .

Carol seemed amused with everything happening.

"There are people outside." Noah said ." My ability won't reach that far."

"Then we can move to the centre." Eleanor replied . "When you use your ability, Silas and I will go outside the range of your ability eliminating our targets."

"That works. Noah said. "There are 10 people outside, 2 at the front gate, 5 at the shipping area and 3 more near the ventilation. In others words they are stationed near the exits."

He paused "After exterminating them, return immediately . we don't know their abilities."

he fell silent before adding " both of our abilities aren't offensive, all we can do is trap them inside."

Eleanor nodded and then signalled me. I opened a portal to the centre of the building the control centre. There were two people there, they didn't think we'd enter this way.

Before they could react Eleanor sliced their neck, none of the members were shocked by the scene, not even Carol.

I finally understood the situation I was facing.

Exterminate meant killing.

I didn't know how I would feel when the time came—and that uncertainty made me restless.
