Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: First Steps for a Kingdom

I stood alone in a vast field, stretching endlessly in every direction. There was nothing—no roads, no people, just a single, lonely wooden house sitting next to me. With no better option, I headed straight for it.

The instant I stepped inside, a glowing game interface burst into existence right in front of my eyes.

No way…!

"This is just like Solo Leveling!" I yelled, my heart pounding as excitement surged through me.

The moment I realized I had gained a system, my fear vanished completely. Any sense of danger was drowned out by exhilaration, because if this was really happening… then my life had just turned into a mess.

Welcome to the "Emperor Harem System"

With entering your palace you accepted the terms to use the system

Emperor Harem System? Am I the new Issei Hyoudou, or what is this supposed to mean?

Your goal is to create a kingdom and I will assist you with this Milord

Ok, cool, but why harem in the name then?

Let my explain it in Anime terms Milord. Your goal is to be a emperor like the one in Apothecary Diaries. A emperor needs a harem with hundreds of women.

ok, that makes sense... kinda. Wait can you read my mind?

Yes, milord. I am connected directly to your mind. Allow me to explain how everything will function from now on. This house you are standing in is your palace—the very center of your kingdom. You may improve it by leveling it up, and each level requires specific conditions to be met.

Condition to Palace lvl 2:

House [0/1]

Population [1/2]

Agriculture [0/1]

You expect me to build a house? And a crop field too? Do I seriously look like I can do that? I can barely cook a meal for myself, and you want me to pull this off? Are you for real?

Well, for that you get the starter set!

*Ding*

You got 1 First grade ticket

You got 1 Second grade ticket

You got 1 Third grade ticket

Tickets? What are does and what does the grades mean?

These are gacha tickets. Use them, and you'll see for yourself what they grant you.

Ok, I will try it... How do I use them?

Rip them apart. They will vanish and give you something in return

I rip them all into two of at once and they instantly vanish, just like magic

[Beginner Architect]

Common Skill

You are a beginner at architectary, you can build basic building that have the basic elements to survive. There is a chance to evolve the skill with using it for construction

[Expert Farmer]

Rare skill

You are an expert at farming, you are able to grow every crop on a field you created as long the environment allows it. All your crops will have the best possible quality. All your crops are immune to insects. There is a chance to evolve the skill with using it for farming

[Dwarves of the core]

Fable Race

You are able to morph into a Dwarf that lives in the core of the planet, a race believed not to even exist. In this form, your body becomes far more durable and powerful, and you gain the skill "Heat Immunity".

You also possess exponential potential and growth in the skill groups Architecture, Mining, and Smithery.

Life in the planet's core offers almost nothing edible. While normal people must eat daily, you will now only need to eat once a week.

All of these advantages remain active whether you are morphed or not.

Wow! Every single one of them is perfectly suited for what I'm supposed to do. Looks like luck is finally on my side. I look around, searching for the equipment I'll need to build a house.

This is the first time I truly take in my "palace". It's a single-room house with nothing more than a bed, a small cooking area, a chimney, and a cabinet containing a few items.

Inside the cabinet, one thing immediately catches my eye, an axe.

I grab it and head straight for the nearest forest, immediately getting to work cutting down trees. My dwarven strength really shows itself. Before this, I couldn't have imagined even properly swinging an axe, but now it feels as light as a piece of paper in my hands.

Even so, cutting down a tree is no easy task. These aren't trees I've ever seen before, and I can't help but think they're far tougher than normal. If it's really true that all fictional worlds have fused together, then this might be some kind of fantasy wood with special properties.

In the end, it takes me over thirty minutes just to fell a single tree.

*Ding*

You cutted down your first tree

You got 1 First grade ticket

I instantly rip it apart, to see what I get next

[Cloud Pillow]

Common Item

Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun - A sentient floating pillow which can follow you and which you can summon whenever you feel like. It is really comfortable ^^

First grade seems like the worst. Not that it's a bad item, just… not so much of use it is.

I let myself sink into the pillow to see how comfortable it really is.

"Damn… this is really comfy," I admit aloud, stretching into it. "No wonder that guy from Iruma-kun was always sleeping on one. It's huge, and the way it lets you float around… I can see how it could make someone lazy really fast."

I keep chopping wood until night falls. Then, the pillow gently floats me back home and deposits me onto my bed. Within minutes, I'm asleep.

*Ding*

You survived your first day at the new world

You got 1 First grade ticket

When morning comes, I realize I received a ticket while I was asleep. I hope it holds something useful, like a storage system, maybe Something like Rimuru's stomach from Tensura, or a bundle like in Minecraft.

That would be perfect for all the wood outside, that I chopped down yesterday.

Just as I'm about to tear it open, there's a knock at my door. A knock? How…? I didn't see anyone around. Maybe a wandering traveler… or worse, bandits?

The door slowly creaks open, and I freeze in shock. Standing there, in my house, in what will one day be my kingdom, is someone I know all too well.

Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail!

That voice told the truth! A dream came true!
