**Chapter 5: The Gambler's Gamble**
Kai sought out Celestia Ludenberg in her room. The space was dark and gothic, adorned with lace and antique furniture - everything to amplify her 'ultimate' status.
"Ludenberg," Kai greeted, sitting across from her at her tea table. "Can I speak with you?"
"Of course, what would you like to speak about sweet Kai?" Celestia replied calmly.
"You seem so calm, but earlier when Monokuma made the announcement… I saw your face. You were hiding something."
Celestia was silent. "Did you know about this killing game?" Kai pressed.
"Whether or not I knew is information you don't need to concern yourself with," she smirked.
**[MISSION ALERT: Despair entity located in the hallway.]**
"Sorry, Ludenberg, but I have a date with a big bad," Kai told her while heading out toward the hallway.
"Such uncouth language. Please excuse yourself," scoffed Celestia.
"You should be more honest," Kai called out while rushing to find the entity.
**[Despair Entity: Initializing Duel Sequence.]**
**[Kai: Life Points: 4000]**
**[Enemy: Life Points: 4000]**
"Why do you gamble so much?" Kai wondered aloud, trying to distract Celestia. "Is it because all your life is nothing but a game?"
The entity was quickly defeated, but Celestia pondered what he said. The next time they met, she was more open than she had ever been. She confessed what caused her to be the person she was, and how she wanted to change.
