A Certain Scientific Time Manipulator 27

Asociacion de Ciencia; that was what they called themselves. He wasn't sure if it was French or Italian. This was an outside group that had the goal of obtaining the remnant of the Tree Diagram in order to build one of their own. They seemed to have hired the teleporter he had seen in order to help them.

Again, based on the way they were incapacitated by Shirai, they had very little experience fighting against espers. Which in turn meant that they had no information regarding on inner workings of Academy City or their people. Basically, due to their goal of obtaining the remnant, they decided to jump into the city head first. That gave him some advantage of the situation.

He would be able to to blend into the corporation by stealing an outfit of a guard. Even though there was a good chance he would be discovered while under cover, he was working alone; he had no other option. Making up his mind he dashed forward and whacked the security guard at the door with a heavy brick.

THUD.

The guard was thrown to the ground by the heavy object.

"My apologies..." Haru muttered as he reached toward the unconscious sentinel. However, before he could search him, the man who was knocked on the ground tightly grasped Haru's arm.

"Apology not accepted." A new voice rang out.

He's not knocked out...?

Quickly adjusting his weight the man flipped Haru over, sending him tumbling outward. In response Haru twisted his body in midair, and landed with his hand flat on the ground, his other hand behind his back, in an one arm push up stance.

BLAM!

Leaping aside, Haru narrowly dodged a bullet shot in his direction. Transmigrating to the guard's side he punched out the gun within the man's hand. In return the guard grabbed Haru's wrist and flung him toward the ground with a twist. Letting the momentum take over Haru spun, rapidly punching the man repeatedly in the process before hitting the ground. The guard stomped on his chest, and proceeded to whack Haru's face, which was then covered protectively with his arms.

Haru's legs shot up in a 150 degree angle, striking the man's face. Feeling the lack of pressure on his chest he rolled out of the way and stood back up. Both adversaries stood facing each other.

"You will not pass me." the man spoke in a calm manner.

He had sunglasses on his face, with a black suit and green tie. Some sort of device was attached to his left ear.

"I have no quarrel with you; I must enter this building." Haru said.

"Then you shall die." A fierce look covered the man's face.

"I command you to move aside." Haru took a battle stance.

"I move for no man." the guard resolutely replied.

"So be it!" Charging forward, Haru parried the guard's punch, pushing his elbow toward his face. The guard shoved it away with his other hand, throwing a haymaker toward Haru's chest. Haru's forearm took the blunt of the attack, and he attempted to gain an edge by stomping his feet on the guard's shoes, but the man pulled away his feet before he could do so. The guard's left foot then attempted to stomp his outstretched right foot, but Haru lifted his leg, thrusting his knee forward into the guard's abdomen. Then the guard grabbed a fistful of Haru's hair attempting to drag him aside. Grabbing the guard's arm with both hands, Haru pulled as hard as he could.

Pop!

The guard cried out in pain as his arm was dislocated from his shoulders. His right arm hung limply while Haru stepped back.

"Now stand aside, worthy adversary." Haru spoke, catching his breath.

"'Tis but a scratch." The man calmly replied, ignoring the pain.

"A scratch? Your arm is off!" Haru protested, pointing toward the guard's shoulders.

"No, it's not!" the guard denied.

"Why is it lifeless, then?" Haru was exasperated at this point.

"I've had worse." the man shrugged.

"You liar!" Haru cried.

"Come on then, you pansy!" Rushing forward, the guard twisted his body, using his dislocated arm like a flail. Ducking, Haru grabbed the man's hips and pushed him aside. The man's shoulder slammed into the ground as he cried out in further pain. Grabbing the guard's left arm Haru pulled, shoving his foot up into the guard's armpit in order to gain leverage. Gathering strength he pushed his foot down and pulled at the same time.

Snap!

The other arm was now dislocated. The man now lay on the ground, both of his arms now ineffective.

"Victory is mine." Haru spoke, slowly standing up. "I thank thee Lord, that in thy merc—"

"Come on, then!" the guard cried out on the ground.

"What!?" Understandably confused, Haru assumed his battle stance once more out of habit.

"Have at you!" Despite his injuries the man screamed.

"You are indeed brave, but this fight is mine." Haru replied.

"Oh, had enough eh?" the guard on the ground called out in a derisive tone.

"Look, you stupid bastard!" Haru cried out in frustration. "Both of your arms are now useless!"

"No, it isn't." Perhaps attempting to prevent the reality, the man insistently denied.

"Look!"

"Just a flesh wound." the man somehow shrugged despite his limp arms. Then he began to chant in an annoying manner, kicking at Haru's shins feebly in process. "Chicken! Chicken!"

"Hey, stop that." Haru frowned.

"Chicken!" the guard ignored him.

"Look, I'll have your leg!" His patience gone, Haru reached down, and snapped the guard's legs in the opposite direction of where it was supposed to bend.

CRACK!

"Arrrg!" the guard screamed in pain. "I'll have you for that!"

"You'll what?" Haru replied, staring incredulously at the guard.

"Come 'ere!" Despite having three of his four limps dislocated and broken, the man crawled toward Haru.

"What are you going to do, bleed on me?" Haru yelled in disbelief. "You're nuts!"

"The lone sentinel always triumphs!" the man cried out.

"Tch, screw this." Haru stomped on the other leg of the guard.

"AAAAAAhhh!" A short cry followed. Panting, Haru stood up, his hands on his knees, hardly believing what had happened.

"Alright..." The man's voice was barley above a whisper. "We'll call it a draw."

"Whatever." Sighing, Haru began to take off the suit and the tie of the man, attempting to blend in with the association. Taking the guard's identity cards and sunglasses, Haru began to walk toward the entrance of the building.

"Oh, oh, I see, running away then." The injured guard cried out adamantly. "You bastard! Come back here and take what's coming to you. I'll bite your legs off!"

"If every single henchmen I come across is as persistent as he is, then I may not survive the night..." Haru muttered, becoming increasingly weary.
