(The scene starts off as the sun begins to set over the horizon, as the carriage moves into focus.)
The old couple are seen holding the reigns of the horses, Ra'ell is laying on the canvas hood, legs dangling over the edge as he stares at the sky, with Itally inside conversing with Fyllu,
"You guys are Pathfinders, right? What powers do you have? Can I become one, too?" Fyllu said with an inquisitive stare.
"Cool your horses,okay. Yes, we are awakeners. When it comes to powers, I am an Unorthodox Arcanist, so my powers are pretty hard to explain. Plus, I don't really know what Ra'ell's powers are, but I can explain how we Pathfinders work." He says as he stares at the roof of the carriage as if he was looking at Ra'ell.
"Kid, you don't need any fancy powers, okay? I don't have any and am way stronger than he is. Also, you shouldn't expect a good explanation from that guy." Ra'ell said as he scoffed.
"What do you mean?, who explained the Tier system earlier, because I know it wasn't you." Itally replied as he was offended by his earlier remark.
Ra'ell then poked his head into the carriage from above and asked, "Wasn't the point of that lecture to explain the threshold stuff you mentioned?"
"What do you mean, I definitely explai..., oh man, I didn't explain it at all. It completely skipped my mind." He said as he was visibly confused.
"I'll explain it now then. Among the 20 Tiers of power that show everyone's strength in combat, there exist two thresholds that stop people from progressing to the final tier, the first being the double-digit threshold that stops awakeners from passing tier 9, only 10 percent of tier 9 awakeners surpass this threshold, Midorima has already passed this though, the second threshold, the soul threshold, this one lies between tiers 15 and 16, it is believed that to surpass this threshold, one must be close to if not attain 'soul-touch', being the highest expression of power mastery that is still not fully understood, but is described as 'fully and truly understanding oneself', and it is most easily achieved in near death scenarios, all members of the High Guard has surpassed this threshold, but only Lady Edalyn has achieved 'Soul-touch'." Itally said.
Fyllu is seen staring in wonder with her mouth wide open, as she says, "Wow, the High Guard are pretty strong."
Ra'ell then exclaims, "Well then, I just gotta surpass the thresholds and every one of them, I might even reach Tier 21."
As if inspired by his words, Fyllu shouts at the top of her voice, "As future Queen of the Pirates, I support your dreams, as I shall do the same, believe it?"
(As the sun finally sets and nightfall begins, the scene shifts to reveal three shadowy figures hiding in a nearby thicket spying on the group)
The old lady turns to face her granddaughter and says in a quiet voice, "Alright now dearie, it's your bedtime now, you don't want the 'dread knight' to get you."
Fyllu then replies, "But granny, mister Itally hasn't explained how I can become a Pathwalker yet."
The old man then says, "Come on, darling, one more story wouldn't hurt, right?"
She replies, "Alright, one more story, nothing more, nothing less."
Fyllu then screams in cheer as she hugs her grandparents and sits down waiting for Itally to begin, as Itally was about to begin he noticed Ra'ell with a dour expression but he thinks nothing of it and begins, "Okay then, all awakeners follow one key format, the Trinity Path, this dictates, your abilities, strengths, weaknesses, limits and boundaries,
There are 3 classes under the Trinity Path; Body, Arcane, and Essence.
1. The Body class focuses on the enhancement of physical traits of only one system in the body, for example, the muscular system without the use of mana.
Under the body class exists 2 branches;
A) Awakening - this the gradual increase of one's physical attributes of their specific body system as they grow stronger.
B) Mutation - an increase in mastery grants the user an increased ability to mutate and reform their specific body system.
2. The Arcane class focuses on the use of mana to perform mystical actions and abilities, people who belong to this class are either generative users, that is, they generate their abilities on their own or are materialistic users, they need an object to channel their mana into in order to use their abilities, they then fall under one of the following 6 branches:
A) Improvement is when mana is used to empower a specific system of their body unique to them.
B) Infusion is when mana is infused into an object or a third party, etc.
C) Augmentation is the control of living matter.
D) Emission is raw magic, e.g., magic missiles and mana constructs.
E) Elementary is elemental magic.
F) Unorthodox is all the miscellaneous kinds of magic.
3. The Essence class involves the user forming a connection with other beings, people or creatures use their abilities, these 'creatures' could be one of the following; GODS, the Dead, Spirits, Yourself, Beasts, the Environment, Constructs, and People
Pathfinders under the Essence class can perform one of the following connections with their specific 'creature';
A) Summoning - they can call their 'creature' to their location
B) Deal - they can make deals or trade with their 'creature' but are forced to keep a strict formal relationship with them.
C) Talk - Unlike Dealers, they can relate more freely with their 'creature', but they can't make any trades
D) Embody - the user can take on different features of their 'creature'.
E) Possession - the user can take over the body of their 'creature'.
F) Control - the user can remotely control the body of their 'creature'.
(As Itally takes a moment to rest his throat, elsewhere a dark figure can be seen sneaking up on a small herd of six large 10 foot boars.)
Itally then continues his statement, "I am a materialistic Unorthodox Arcanist, and I presume Ra'ell is an Body Awakener." Ra'ell nods in response.
"Most attain their powers around the age of 13, and once one believes they have awakened, they are to proceed to an inspection center so as to determine your class, branch, and abilities. Only 0.1% of people ever awaken, but the odds are affected by race, lineage, and 'God influence'. You'll just have to wait till you're of age, alright?" Itally says as he looks down to see Fyllu asleep on his lap, and Ra'ell dosing off in a corner.
He then puts Fyllu down and moves toward the old couple and says, "I think we should set up camp now."
The old man replies, "I'm sorry we can't do that. We are already running late, so we'll have to travel all night."
He replies, "Oh, okay, then let me drive, you two should get some rest, I insist." The old couple agrees and goes to sleep.
A few hours later, Itally is seen steering the carriage as he begins to fall asleep when suddenly a large boar jumps out onto the road ahead and begins to charge at him.
