Chapter 94: A Jealous Vampire
It was a chaotic morning for Tsukune who cleansed himself of all the sweat and juices that covered his body for the majority of the night. Kurumu took the 'normal' approach, that was going into the bathroom and taking her sweet time while he was inside her room.
He ate some of the leftover pasta from last night, but there was something missing. He summoned a portal into his 'Inventory' and withdrew from there a glass flask containing a crimson red liquid, it was slightly viscous resembling nothing but blood.
This was in fact blood, specifically werewolf blood that he now stashed away from his ever so 'gracious' donations.

He took his time to satiate his hunger and while doing so he also took care of administrative work that eased his mind that plans proceeded smoothly. Checking the images captured by the surveilling Vampire Familiars from all over the Academy Campus.
There were moves from the Disciplinary Committee but nothing that should alert him, they were still dragging students into an annex of the Academy that was transformed into the Headquarters of the Committee, probably those misfortunate idiots who badmouthed their oh 'Supreme Leader' being the stupid Kitsune Scion, Kuyo.
Still, some of his Vampire Bats were cut down especially when a particular woman was spotted going in and out of the building, that being the A-tier Empusa, Kuchiba Ririsa. However, Tsukune even with the assistance of the system reminding him of the names of the various people around him, still liked to call her in his mind Yumeko, after Yumeko Jabami, her resemblance to her was uncanny.
He would need to keep a close eye on her just in case she becomes a variable.
His attention shifted to the Student Council members themselves. Mizuki Ueshiba had been the most active, his movements tracked by the remaining Familiars. He had been meeting with other Council members in the dead of night, their conversations too quiet for the bats to pick up. The threat level of the Student Council was far larger than Kuyo's thugs, considering the number of combatants they commanded.
People such as Hokuto Kaneshiro, Kiria Yoshii or Kusabi Midō were targets that he decided to surveil with a safer approach using a range of Vampire Bats and Vampire Ghosts to stay at a safe range from their reach. Still, he could tell that those three monsters noticed that they were tracked from the shadows and didn't deliver any noteworthy information by accident.
He was also on his phone from the early hour, his phone buzzing again with another message, and he glanced down to see a string of notifications from various acquaintances.
A few of the girls and guys he had befriended at the Academy, a couple of suppliers for the Gazette, and even a note from one of the teachers asking about the distribution. The volume of messages was a testament to his growing influence, but it was also a burden. Keeping up with everyone was becoming a full-time job.
Being a popular guy and the new president of the Newspaper Club was demanding because he had to keep up with various people, collaborators, suppliers and so on, so that also took some of his time in the morning or nights to sort.
He was still scrolling through his messages when the bathroom door opened. Steam billowed out, carrying the scent of floral shampoo and warm water. Kurumu emerged wrapped in a towel, her blue hair damp and clinging to her shoulders. Her skin was flushed from the heat, and her amethyst eyes sparkled with playful mischief.
She twirled in place, the towel barely staying in place, and her hair fanned out around her like a blue halo. "Tsuky!" she called out, her voice bright and cheerful. "Does my hair smell good?"
He looked up from his phone, his lips curving into an amused smile. "You know, most girls don't ask their boyfriends to sniff their hair as if we're some puppies."
She pouted, but there was no real disappointment in her eyes. "But I spent so long making it perfect! I used the expensive shampoo you bought me. Doesn't it smell divine?"
He set down his phone and stepped closer, her scent reaching him before he could even try. It was floral and sweet, with a hint of something warm beneath it. He leaned in, his nose brushing against her damp hair, and inhaled.
"It smells just like you. Lavender essence too," he said softly.
Her cheeks flushed, and she swatted his arm playfully. "That's such a vague answer! You're supposed to say something poetic, like 'your hair smells like a field of lavender under the first ray of the morning sun' or something."
He laughed, the sound warm and genuine. "My poetic skills are limited to writing newspaper articles and novels, I'm afraid. But I can say this, my lovely Succubus, you smell beautiful."
Her blush deepened, but she was smiling, her eyes shining with affection. "I'll accept that. For now." She leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. "Now, I need to get dressed. We still have to release the Gazette today, and I can't do that in a towel."
He watched her skip back toward her closet, the towel fluttering behind her. It was moments like this that reminded him why he had fallen for her in the first place. The playful energy, the infectious joy, the way she could make him smile even when he was buried in work.
A few minutes later, she emerged fully dressed, her hair now dry and styled. She was wearing her usual uniform, but there was a lightness in her step that hadn't been there before. He attributed it to the events of the night, and the knowledge that their relationship had taken a significant step forward.
He rose from his seat, his hand finding hers. "I have to go, Kurumu. I need to meet Outer and let Inner out."
She nodded, her expression soft. "I know. I'll see you at the club, Goshujin—" She caught herself, her cheeks flushing, "I mean, Tsukune-kun."
He smiled, leaning in to press a kiss to her forehead. "I'll be counting on you to keep that beautiful smile to get more customers when we release the Gazette."
"Leaving it to this beautiful Succubus!"
It was moments like this that made his life in this chaotic world worth living.
By this point it had become routine.
Back at the Newspaper Club, everyone was present for the last checks.
The air carried the rich scent of freshly brewed coffee that Kurumu had brewed earlier as they made themselves comfortable in each of their seats.
Tsukune stood at the head of the long table, his eyes scanning the final mockup of the Gazette's special edition.
The front page was bold and uncompromising, the headline screaming the truth that had been hidden for far too long with a picture of Hitomi Ishigami as she was defeated back at the Art Club. You might ask how he has a picture of that moment? If you thought he was alone back then you're clearly mistaken.
He ran his finger along the edge of the paper, feeling the slight texture of the ink, and allowed himself a small smile.
It was done, the first battle is about to be launched and having the first punch landing on your adversary settles the score far better.
Below the article, a list of the victims' names, along with the confessions of the girls that he kept under anonymity.
"Everything looks good," he said, his voice carrying a note of satisfaction. "Yukari-chan, how is our printing press coming along? Can you keep up with today's rate?"
"We'll distribute the Gazette during the lunch break as usual in the same location by the bulletin board in the courtyard."
"The jobs designated to each of you remain the same."
"Aside from the magic printing press, Yukari-chan is also on magic amplification duty so we can make sure the message spreads fast."
Yukari nodded, her eyes bright with determination. "Leave it to me Tsukune-san! I've already prepared the spell. Even the most disinterested student won't be able to look away."
"Perfect. Mizore, your duty is the same, you're in charge of organizing the stacks. Collaborate with Yukari and make sure we have enough copies for everyone. We expect a number of 2500 copies being distributed today. That makes it half the Academy's students expecting us to deliver."
The Yuki-onna inclined her head, her winter-sky eyes soft but focused as she exchanged a nod with the young witch all fired up. "I will see to it, Tsukune-kun."
"And Gin," Tsukune continued, his gaze shifting to the werewolf, "you'll handle the photo display. Set up a board near the main bulletin area in the courtyard with the most damning images along with the ones I passed to you."
"I want everyone to see what snake was hiding away behind the façade of a dedicated teacher. And how they could too have fallen in the same honey trap."
Gin nodded, his usual lecherous demeanor replaced by something almost professional. He had been subdued ever since his defeat, but there was a glint in his eyes that suggested he was actually enjoying being part of the rejuvenated Newspaper Club, the leadership position just wasn't for him, managing people, and their feelings was too much of a headache.
"No problem, Aono. I'll get it done," he said.
Then his eyes drifted to Kurumu, who had been unusually quiet throughout the briefing. She was standing beside Tsukune, not at a respectful distance, but pressed up against him like she was trying to merge into his side. Her arms were wrapped around his, her tail curled possessively around his leg.
Usually, no, mostly, they would see the same acts from Kurumu but scaled down, and even Tsukune would just reprimand her for being like a naughty imp, but this time there was hardly a fight put forth by their president.
'What the hell happened between those two? Could it be??? That Vampire bastard has finally it put that Succubus in her place and taught her a lesson of humbling proportions?' Gin wondered.
'Would she finally leave me alone and stop bullying me just because I took some ecchi pics of hers? Well… aside from being a creep and hurting her.'
'Now that I think back, I was quite the asshole for treating my kohai so badly. My lovely, beautiful and cute kohais make my day so much easier on my eyes. Except for that bastard Aono, fuck him, I hate that smugness and how he grows stronger by the day.'
Sensing an alien pulse in his heart taking off the moment he thought badly of Tsukune, Gin was scrambling back to apologize to the true Blood God.
'I wasn't talking seriously, don't stab my heart, ohh great master G'huun.'
It calmed down, and it was enough for the teen werewolf to be all appreciative in his heart.
'Thank you for sparing me once more, oh great master.'
Yet in his mind, Gin was sneering, it was too easy fooling this simpleton blood creature that came out from whatever Lovecrafting Horrors Tsukune had inspired himself when creating this abomination to haunt his purity and mind.
When it came to gossiping, Gin wasn't the only one who noticed the change in dynamics between Tsukune and Kurumu.
Yukari was frowning at them, her brow furrowed because she learned much more about the relations between guy and girls after listening to Kurumu's lessons. She knew that what she was experiencing with Tsukune wasn't just the feelings a girl would have for a friend.
She was about to cast one of her 'Prank' Spells and drop a bucket full of green gooey slime all over the Succubus head, but held back when she saw Mizore's and Inner Moka's expression.
Mizore had gone very still, her frosty breath misting slightly as she studied the Succubus's posture.
'Since when has she gotten so close to Tsukune-san?' Yukari's mind raced. 'She's acting as if Tsukune-san has become her boyfriend… Could it be that she used her powers on him and has trapped Tsukune-san under her spell?'
Inner Moka, who had been silent throughout the briefing, watched the scene with cold, calculating eyes. Her crimson gaze was fixed on Kurumu's possessive grip with an intensity that could have melted steel.
'So that's how it is,' she thought, her jaw tightening almost imperceptibly. 'The succubus has made her move. And judging by the way he's not pushing her away, he's let her.'
Her fingers curled against her palm, nails pressing into her skin.
'When did this happen? Why didn't he tell me? Did he think I wouldn't notice?'
'Is this what it feels to be cheated on??'
Her eyes tracked every detail. The way Kurumu's thumb traced small circles on Tsukune's sleeve. The way her tail coiled around his leg like a brand. The way she leaned into him, claiming him without a single word.
'This is what I agreed to. I knew he wouldn't be mine alone. But still...'
Her chest tightened with an emotion she didn't want to name. She had accepted, reluctantly, that Tsukune would have other women. She had told herself she could handle it. She had convinced herself that as long as she was first in his heart, it would be enough.
But seeing it so openly, so brazenly, was a different matter entirely.
'The first kiss should have been mine. It is mine. The first night should have been mine. Now it has been taken away from me.'
'The first child should be mine. All of it. I should have been first in everything.'
['Sister...'] Outer's voice came through the bond, soft and hesitant. ['It's upsetting what I am seeing. We knew in our heart that something like this would happen when you said you would allow it.]
[You're upset. I can feel it.']
'Of course I'm upset,' Inner replied, her mental voice cold but strained. 'He slept with her. Before me. He gave her something he hasn't given me.'
['You... you wanted to be first?']
['We're vampires, think about how much you want to kiss Tsukune but you're just too shy to do it. Possessiveness is in our blood. I wanted to be the first woman he claimed fully. And now that succubus has stolen that from me.'
'I think I'll break her tail and snap her wings to cool off and after that I'll also beat Tsukune up.'
Outer was quiet for a moment. Then, softly: ['I'll allow you to bully Kurumu, but don't be too harsh on Tsukune-kun. You know how guys are, everyone of them is ecchi, especially Tsukune now that he's surrounded by beautiful girls.]
[We still love him, though. We can't bear to see him hurt.]
'Of course I still love him. That's why it hurts so much.'
'Fine. Let her have this victory. But she will not be the last. And she will never replace me.'
Perceiving the death glares from all the girls, except for Gin who just watched the show, only missing a bag of popcorn, Tsukune looked at Kurumu's arm all over him, and started pulling away a bit.
Confessing now and risk ruining the day for all the girls and by extension missing out on the release of the Gazette? He was juggling with various methods of tackling this situation but none were that diplomatic per se.
"Kurumu-chan,"
"You're going to have to let go of my arm eventually. There's work to be done."
She pressed herself closer, her amethyst eyes gleaming with mischief. "I'm helping you, Goshujin—"
She caught herself mid-word, her eyes widening as she realized what she had just said. Her cheeks flushed a deep crimson, and she quickly corrected herself, her voice pitching higher with embarrassment.
"I mean, Tsukune-kun! I'm helping you by keeping you close, I'm making sure you don't get distracted."
She tried to play it off with a bright smile, but the damage was done and she could feel on her skin the coldness directed at her from the gazes of the girls.
Yukari's eyebrows had shot up to Magical Girl levels. Mizore's frosty breath had grown noticeably thicker and she was holding back from pouncing on the Succubus. And Inner Moka's eyes had narrowed to dangerous slits.
Goshujin-sama. The word echoed in Inner's mind like a taunt. She calls him that now. They've clearly established some kind of... dynamic between them.
Her grip on the Rosario Cross in her tightened until her knuckles turned white.
['Sister...'] Outer's voice was careful, hesitant. ['You're going to break the Rosario! I am in danger! HELP! SOMEONE HELP! SHE'S ABOUT TO PUT ME IN JAIL!']
'What are you worrying about? If I wanted to harm you, I could do that and take full control of the body.' Her words were laced with venom.
Yukari's eyes narrowed, and she leaned over to Mizore. "Did she just call him 'Goshujin-sama'? That's not normal for a 'helping' situation."
Mizore's expression remained neutral, but her voice was carefully controlled. "It appears not."
The silence stretched for a moment longer before Yukari clapped her hands together.
"Well," she said while trying to be brighter than the other girls, "I'm going to prepare the spell. I want to make sure everything is working."
She practically fled the room, her witch's hat wobbling as she hurried out the door.
Gin cleared his throat. "I'll, uh, get the photo board ready. See you all later."
He left just as quickly, having no interest in being present for whatever was about to happen.
Mizore lingered for a moment, her gaze meeting Inner's. There was a silent understanding between them, some sort of recognition of the ache that came with loving someone who had so much love to give. Then she too slipped out.
The room fell into a heavy silence. Inner remained seated, her crimson eyes fixed on the table, her expression unreadable. She didn't look at Tsukune. She didn't look at Kurumu. She simply... sat there, her fingers still wrapped around the Rosario Cross.
['You should talk to him,'] Outer said gently. ['Holding this in will only make it worse.']
'I will. But not here. Not in front of her, I will not let her see me at my worst.' Inner's mental voice was cold, but there was a tremble beneath it that betrayed her wounded pride.
['You're still special to him,'] Outer offered. ['That hasn't changed.']
'Hasn't it?'
'Awww, having you around, sister, makes it easier to take this pain. Don't forget about your own feelings, if you're also holding on too much I don't even know how I could pick you up from the ground.'
The lunch bell rang, and the courtyard of Yokai Academy filled with students in a matter of minutes. They streamed out of the main building, gathering in clusters around the fountain, the benches, and the shaded areas beneath the twisted trees. The weather was welcoming for a gossipy day, and still the atmosphere was about to shift.
The Newspaper Club had set up their distribution point near the center of the courtyard. Yukari's amplification spell made the headlines shimmer, Gin's photo board drew a crowd, the images of Ishigami's victims in their petrified state, staring out at the students with haunting clarity.
"Disappearances? The Art teacher was turning them to stone?"
"That's horrifying. I had no idea."
"How did no one notice? She was a teacher!"
"Because she was good at hiding it."
"Is this true? The Gazette has been accurate so far, but this seems so ludicrous. Accusing a teacher will not get brushed off so easily."
The students amongst the peanut gallery whispered, their voices carrying across the courtyard as the truth spread like wildfire. Some were angry, others horrified, a few simply in shock. The Academy had been hiding a monster in plain sight, and the students were justifiably outraged.
But at the center of the courtyard, where the chaos was at its peak, Tsukune stood with a satisfied smile. The Gazette had done its job by bringing out the truth out in the open, now there was no taking it back with this first step into the maelstrom.
He was standing beside one of the distribution tables, helping to hand out copies to the students who were clamoring for them. Kurumu had been by his side for most of the distribution, but she had finally been pulled away to help with the photo board, leaving him alone for the moment.
But his attention was elsewhere.
Moka had been watching him all morning, no words from her since the awkward moment from the Clubhouse, her crimson eyes colder than usual, especially when she saw him return back a smile at her.
Now, as he stood by the table throwing some newspaper out with no interest being here toward some simps trying to get her attention.
Once the numbers of newspapers she had to handle got to zero, she moved toward him without any warning.
Before he could protest, she had grabbed his wrist with an iron grip and was dragging him away from the distribution point, leaving behind the bustling courtyard, the voices of the students, and the curious stares of his club members.
Kurumu noticed the movement, her eyes widening as she watched Inner drag him toward the shadows of the Academy building. She opened her mouth to say something, then closed it when she saw that look from Inner's eyes, thinking better of interfering.
'I am in big trouble… At least I should tell her that the relation between me and Tsukune has reached the next level.'
'I should prepare to face her. It might get physical knowing how she could be when things are not going her way.'
Captured in her iron grip, ignoring some of the staring gossip from the onlookers, knew that moment of talking, the 'Come to Jesus' part was hitting him.
"Hold on," Tsukune said, stumbling after her. "What's this about? Where are you taking me?"
"Shut up." Her voice was cold, flat. "And keep walking."
He didn't argue. It was clear that no argument would be accepted.
When she reached a secluded alcove behind the Academy building, she finally stopped, pressing him against the wall. He could feel the cool stone against his back, and her body was pressed against his chest, her crimson eyes blazing with barely contained fury.
Her hands came up to grip his collar, and she leaned in close.
"Explain," she said, her voice low.
"Explain what?"
She tightened her grip on his collar, her eyes narrowing. "Do not play dumb with me, Tsukune. I noticed the way Kurumu was clinging to you. I noticed the way your scent was all over her. I also noticed the way her Yoki has spiked beyond her previous limits."
She leaned closer, her voice dropping to a whisper.
"How did her Yoki spike so high? Hhmm? How could a Succubus gain power other than doing it?"
He met her gaze and sighed. He knew this was coming. He had known the moment he woke up next to Kurumu that he would have to deal with the consequences.
"I… might have slept with Kurumu last night," he admitted.
Inner's grip on his collar didn't loosen. Her eyes flashed with something dangerous.
"You slept with her. Before me."
"It wasn't about that, Inner—"
"Wasn't it?" Her voice was sharp, cutting through his words like a blade. "I wanted to be first, Tsukune. The first woman you kissed. The first woman you held. The first woman you—" She stopped herself, her jaw tightening. "I know I accepted that you would have other women. I told myself I could handle it. But this... this was supposed to be mine."
He reached up, gently cupping her face. "Moka, I didn't plan any of this. It just happened. Kurumu was being blackmailed, I took care of it, and one thing led to another. I didn't set out to hurt you."
"But you did." Her voice cracked, just a fraction. "You hurt me. You hurt us. Do you know how it feels to see her clinging to you like that? To hear her call you 'Goshujin-sama' and know exactly what that means?"
"Then why didn't you tell me? Why did I have to find out by watching her all over you like some kind of trophy?"
He let out a slow breath, his thumb brushing across her cheekbone. "Because I'm an idiot. An coward. An weakling that can't process his emotions the right away. Because I didn't know how to tell you without hurting you. I was going to talk to you, I just needed the right moment."
She stared at him for a long moment, her crimson eyes searching his. Then, slowly, her grip on his collar loosened.
"Let's go somewhere more private," he said softly. "I'll tell you everything."
She didn't respond, but she didn't resist as he took her hand and led her away from the alcove, away from the noise of the courtyard, deeper into the shadows of the Academy.
He led her to a secluded courtyard hidden from view by overgrown ivy and stone walls, shielded from prying eyes.
He turned to face her, his gaze steady, his voice soft. "I love you, Inner. You know how much of a wimp I could be with you, and do anything you asked of me without questioning you."
"I never stopped loving you, it wasn't my intent for things to turn like this. In my head, you should be first, followed by Outer. What happened with Kurumu... it doesn't change that. It doesn't change anything, especially of how much you mean to me."
"If you love me, why did you sleep with her first?" Inner's voice was quiet, the anger slowly bleeding out of her, leaving something more vulnerable behind. "Why her and not me?"
He stepped closer, his hand reaching out to cup her cheek. "Because she confessed her feelings to me. Because she was vulnerable and scared and she needed me. And in that moment with hormones going crazy in my head, with a pretty girl throwing herself at me, my monkey brain couldn't shut it down. I know, I am worse than a beast, a monkey for letting my instincts drive me. It is my fault for being too weak."
"I didn't seek her out. It just happened. However, I assume all the fault for being too weak to stop it before things got intense."
"That's such a convenient excuse."
"I know. And I'm not going to apologize for feeling the way I do, even if that's selfish. But I am sorry I hurt you."
While trying to pacify Inner, he was holding her in his arms gently, kissing her neck lightly, just pecks.
She was quiet for a long moment, her gaze searching his. Then, softly, she asked, "Do you truly love her too, or is just her body that you enjoy using?"
"It's not about her body, you're also beautiful beyond what you know. Each of you have your own charm. Especially you, Moka-chan. You are hitting various kinks of mine."
"Such as?"
"You are my mommy Vampire. Without you I would be a corpse and skeleton left around in some graveyard in the Academy."
"Is that so? So you love me?"
"Yes. I love you more than I can explain." He stepped closer, his forehead resting against hers. "You are my first, Inner. You're the one who has turned me in a Vampire. Our connection should be far more special than just flesh. You have my soul in your palms."
"You're the one I want to spend forever with. But it shouldn't be a competition between you girls. It's not about who I love more. It's just... the way things are."
"If it makes things easier, I can also use the Blood Clone and be shared equally by each of you girls."
She let out a shaky breath, her eyes closing for a moment. When she opened them, some of the fire had cooled. "I hate this situation," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "I hate that you're making me share. I hate that I agreed to this nonsense. I hate that I'm still here, even after you hurt me."
"I love you too much to leave. That's the worst part. You have to understand Tsukune. I could just go crazy and kill Kurumu right in front of you, but you would hate me for that." She reached out, her hand resting on his chest.
"I'm sorry, Inner. I'll make it up to you. I promise."
"How?"
He smiled, a slow, tender smile. "However you want. I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you if that's what it takes."
She stared at him, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, her lips curved slightly.
"This time, I need you to prove it to me. Not with promises, but with actions. I want to be first in your heart, Tsukune. I don't care about the others. As long as I'm first in your heart, I can tolerate the rest."
"That's a promise I'm more than happy to make."
She leaned in, her lips brushing against his. "Good. Because if you ever break that promise, I will make your life a living hell."
"I know." He smiled against her lips. "I wouldn't expect anything less."
She kissed him then, a soft, searching kiss that slowly grew more passionate. Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer, and he responded in kind, his hands finding her waist, her hips, her back. Her body softened against his as the kiss deepened.
When they finally broke apart, she was breathless, her cheeks flushed, her eyes shining with unshed tears.
"I'm still angry with you," she murmured.
"I know. I'll make it up to you."
"You better."
She pulled back, her gaze meeting his. "Once you've opened the gates of chaos, you can't close them, Tsukune. So make sure to handle the hell you have awakened." She paused, her voice dropping.
"You are a womanizer, but you're also my man. Don't you dare let those cheap imitations of mine think they won. Because I have not given up. Not even close. Also, I want twelve children."
He smiled, a smile that reached his eyes before the last sentence hit him like a sledgehammer, and he started to get nervous.
"Twelve is more than a football team. We should talk about this more."
"Non-negotiable."
She kissed him again, but this time she bit his lip, drawing a small bead of blood, and things got more intense as she went for a tongue kiss.
When she pulled back, her tongue darted out, tasting the crimson, a predatory glint in her eyes. "We will be having a long discussion about this." she said.
"I'm looking forward to it."
