The police were alerted early in the morning after a disturbing discovery on the outskirts of the city.
A man on his way to the weekly market noticed a cardboard box lying near the road. At first, he thought it might contain something valuable. Curiosity and greed pushed him to pick it up and carry it a short distance away. But the moment he opened it, his blood froze.
Inside the box were two human legs.
Terrified and shaking, the man immediately called the police. Officers arrived quickly, took his statement, secured the area, and photographed the contents. The box was sealed and transported to the morgue. At that point, no one knew who the victim was—or where the rest of the body could be.
Only a few hours later, around midday, another call came in.
This time, a different cardboard box had been found in another area of the city. Inside it was the torso of a woman, from the neck down to the thighs. The arms were missing. Investigators followed the same procedure, already suspecting that more discoveries would follow.
They were right.
By late afternoon, a shepherd tending his sheep outside the city noticed a box partially hidden in the grass. When he opened it, he found a human head and two arms. The police were notified once again.
By the end of the day, the authorities had recovered the entire body—cut into pieces, scattered across different locations.
At the morgue, forensic staff carefully reassembled and stitched the remains together. Even for experienced professionals, handling a dismembered body was a heavy psychological burden. The brutality of the crime was impossible to ignore.
From the way the body parts had been separated and transported, investigators concluded that the killer likely had access to a car or a motorcycle, allowing him to move quickly between locations.
Using fingerprints, the police were able to identify the victim.
She was a married woman, living not far from the city.
Officers went to her home, where they found her family and husband desperately searching for her. The husband was crying uncontrollably. Her children told the police that their mother had been missing for three days.
According to the husband, everything in their marriage had been normal. He claimed she had disappeared suddenly, without taking any clothes or personal belongings.
But her sister told a different story.
She revealed that the couple often argued and that the husband constantly accused his wife of cheating on him.
When the police informed the family that the woman had been murdered in a horrific way, the shock was devastating. Tears filled the house, especially from the husband, whose grief seemed overwhelming.
Night fell, and the investigation was temporarily paused until the next day.
From the start, the husband was the main suspect.
Not only because of the intense way he cried, but also because multiple people confirmed that there had been ongoing conflicts between him and his wife. There was also a noticeable age difference between them.
The next day, police searched the house thoroughly.
In one corner, they found a plastic mat that had clearly been washed and set aside. One officer, absentmindedly trying to pick a piece of plastic from it, noticed dark stains. On closer inspection, they realized it was dried blood.
When confronted, the husband's expression changed completely.
The search continued. Hidden in a difficult-to-reach place, officers found a bag containing a large knife and a meat cleaver.
Faced with the evidence, the husband broke down.
He claimed that his wife had been unfaithful and that "everyone knew it." When asked who had told him this, he said his sister.
But when the sister was questioned, she denied ever saying such a thing.
The truth was darker.
The man had previously been married and divorced his first wife to marry the victim, who was younger and more beautiful. His family never accepted her. Over time, they filled his head with lies and suspicions, accusing her of things she never did.
He kept all of it inside—until the day it exploded.
One afternoon, while he was at home with his wife, a repairman knocked on the door. He explained that the woman had called him to fix an electrical problem.
For the husband, this was enough.
Consumed by jealousy and rage, he grabbed a meat cleaver and attacked her, killing her in their own home.
The children were away at kindergarten.
He went to his sister's house and left the children there, pretending everything was normal. Then he returned home, dismembered his wife's body, placed the pieces into cardboard boxes, loaded them into his car, and drove to a neighboring city to dispose of them.
That night, he cleaned the plastic mat and washed the tools carefully, hiding them afterward. He went back to his sister's house as if nothing had happened.
But the boxes on the road told the truth.
In the end, the crime was not born from betrayal—but from suspicion, manipulation, and a rage that was never controlled.
