Chapter 13 - The Interview (2)

On the top floor of the company, inside the largest office, Meng Lingxue was working quietly at her desk.

The door opened gently.

A young woman walked in with several files in her hands. She wore a white shirt and a black skirt, looking neat and professional. She was beautiful, almost on the same level as Meng Lingxue.

"Boss, these are the reports you asked for," she said as she placed the files on the desk.

Meng Lingxue did not respond immediately. She finished typing a few more words before finally looking up.

This small delay made Wen Xin stand straighter without realizing it.

Meng Lingxue picked up one of the files and began reading. Her expression was calm and serious as her eyes moved across the pages.

The room was quiet

Wen Xin waited patiently.

After checking everything, Meng Lingxue closed the file.

"You finally did it correctly," she said plainly.

Wen Xin pouted. "After making me redo it three or four times, it would be strange if I didn't."

Wen Xin had been Meng Lingxue's assistant since she became the CEO. Over time, their working relationship had grown closer. Even so, Wen Xin still respected her deeply.

Wen Xin turned to leave.

"Wen Xin."

She stopped and looked back. "Yes, Boss?"

Meng Lingxue looked at her for a moment.

"Can you do me a favor?"

Wen Xin's eyebrows lifted in surprise.

This was the first time her cold and strict boss had ever asked her for a favor instead of giving an order.

"Of course, this is the first time my boss has asked me for a favor." She giggled.

"On the fifteenth floor, there's an interview going on for the sales representative position. I recommended someone. Can you help me check if everything is okay?" Meng Lingxue explained.

Wen Xin froze in shock. Did she just hear her boss say that she recommended someone for a job?

This was the first time Meng Lingxue had done so since the establishment of the company. She preferred fair judgment rather than recommending someone.

She felt curious about who Meng Lingxue had recommended.

"Is it a guy or a lady?" Wen Xin couldn't help but ask.

Meng Lingxue paused, her gaze fixed on Wen Xin, making her feel tense about the answer she was about to receive.

"You will find out when you get there." Meng Lingxue's cold words dampened her curiosity, leaving her helpless.

She nodded and walked out of the office. Her thoughts wandered to whether the person was a guy or a lady; if it was the latter, it was fine—but if it was the former…

She chuckled.

Back at the interview,

The interview panel all looked at Long Tian in shock, to the extent that one of them stood up, unable to believe it.

"Who are you to our CEO?" the young man who had stood up immediately questioned Long Tian, his gaze never leaving him.

Long Tian wondered who their CEO was. He had no relation to the person—or was she the CEO of the company? It seemed he had underestimated her.

"Sorry, who's that?"

Long Tian's reply made them calm down. Were they mistaken?

Checking the name again, they saw it was still the same. There was no one else in the company bearing the same name as their CEO.

"Maybe you don't know who our CEO is, but her name is Meng Lingxue," the middle-aged man explained.

Long Tian heard this and realized his thoughts were right. He had never thought she was the CEO of the Glacier Crown Corporation. No wonder she wasn't worried about whether he had his school certificates or not.

He looked at the interview panel, whose gazes were fixed on him, especially the young men who were staring at him with fiery eyes.

Meng Lingxue was the goddess in their hearts and their dream partner. Most of them had joined the company just to be closer to her, but the coldness she radiated made it impossible for them to get within a meter of her.

Now, seeing that she had recommended someone—and that it turned out to be a guy—their hearts were raging with jealousy while their minds ran wild.

"Oh, she owed me a favor. Now she's paying me back by giving me this recommendation. Never thought she was the CEO of the company," Long Tian said calmly.

They felt suspicious of his words because Long Tian was too calm, showing no sign of awe or surprise at the revelation of their CEO's identity.

After pondering for a moment, they found his words believable. They knew their CEO didn't like to owe people favors, and there was no way their goddess would fall in love with such a guy.

He wasn't even handsome; their faces were far better than his.

This made them calm down and focus on the interview. The young lady looked at Long Tian with curiosity.

They discussed among themselves, but all of it was heard by Long Tian.

The discussion was short. Most of it revolved around whether the recommendation was true or not, but with the familiar stamp, they had no option but to accept Long Tian.

The others could only blame their bad luck.

"Congratulations, Mr. Long Tian. You are hereby hired as the Sales Representative of the Glacier Crown Corporation," the middle-aged man said.

The middle-aged man and the others then introduced themselves by name, allowing Long Tian to get to know them better.

All of this was done because he had been recommended by Meng Lingxue, and he knew it.

It didn't bother him because he didn't really care about the position; he just didn't want to waste his wife's efforts.

The middle-aged man and the others saw Long Tian's nonchalant attitude, which made them angry and frustrated, but they suppressed it, trying to maintain their prestige.

As they were about to leave the office, someone suddenly burst in, surprising everyone.

When the interview panel saw the person, their expressions immediately became respectful.

Long Tian turned around and saw that it was a…
