Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 Could It Be That Uncle Yang Is Overthinking It?

The videos had already played several rounds. Far from proving Zeig had mental issues, it was almost turning into a commendation ceremony for him.

Aha kept tapping the table, very puzzled.

Something's wrong.

Why does everything he did seem more and more normal the longer you watch?

Could it really be that everyone on this space station has misunderstood him?

At this moment, the big screen was still playing footage of Zeig's time on the space station.

Aha directly interrupted:

"Wait, stop playing the space station ones—play the ones I gave you!"

All of Herta's videos had been refuted perfectly by that elementary school kid.

If this continued, the situation would really become completely one-sided.

It was clearly something with no suspense—why was it developing more and more absurdly?

"Okay, since the sponsor Mr. Aha has said so, let's switch the footage!" Asta happily looked toward the big screen.

"Hold on." Aha stood up again.

"Mr. Aha, do you have any other instructions?" Asta tilted her head and asked.

"I want to ban her." Aha pointed at Wen Shiling in the audience seats, very seriously.

"Ah?"

Asta blankly looked at Wen Shiling below the stage. Indeed, her performance today had been far too eye-catching.

If she was allowed to continue performing, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"But, Mr. Aha, wouldn't that be unfair?" Asta furrowed her beautiful brows, "Didn't you say the masses' eyes are sharp and bright? If what Wen Shiling says is truly inappropriate, someone should stand up to refute her, right?"

Aha: "..."

"Besides, Wen Shiling is still a minor. Is it really okay to just ban her like that?"

At this point, Zeig also stood up and said arrogantly:

"Sigh, it's fine. Ban her if you want. Does my Zeig fan group only have General Wen as a great general?"

He waved at Wen Shiling, signaling:

"General Wen, leave the stage to others. You rest for a bit."

Hearing Young Master call her name, Wen Shiling was immediately overjoyed and quickly agreed repeatedly.

"Okay, Young Master. Since you've said so, I won't participate in the discussion anymore. I still believe the masses' eyes are sharp and bright. Even without me, someone will stand up to clear your name."

After saying that, Wen Shiling obediently sat down.

It made Aha feel a bit awkward.

He looked at Zeig, then at Wen Shiling, "What do you mean? Acting like I can't take a loss?"

Zeig frowned:

"Didn't you say you wanted to ban her?"

Aha refuted:

"Then couldn't you have bargained a little? You agreed to the ban so decisively—are you that confident your Zeig fan group has more fierce generals?"

Zeig put his hands on his hips and laughed loudly:

"No need. The innocent prove themselves innocent. How could I, Zeig, need others to clear my name? I am pure white to begin with!"

"Fine. Since you lack a clear understanding of yourself, I won't advise you further."

Aha said to Asta:

"Since we've banned that elementary school kid, I should do something too—to keep things fair."

He gently waved his hand, and shadowy figures like sharp arrows were sucked over from various parts of the space station.

All gathering in the center of the stage.

"Swarm bugs?!" Asta quickly retreated to the edge of the stage.

"Hey." Aha smiled, "These newly emerged Riftbound Swarm bugs have been giving your space station a headache, right? After the vote, you'd probably need this kid to help clean them up again. I'll be the good guy and kill them all!"

With a focused gaze from Aha, countless Swarm bugs sucked to the stage center screamed as they turned to ash.

The entire process was clean and efficient.

Zeig clapped:

"Impressive, impressive. How did you manage to suck them over? Teach me?"

Aha glanced sideways:

"Sure, as long as you admit you're a lunatic. We can skip the vote—you become my Emanator directly. I'll teach you this move and give you a big gift package of imaginary energy. How's that?"

Zeig frowned:

"Heh, I've said it—I'm a proper person with perfectly healthy mental state. Don't try to slander me!"

Aha sneered:

"Then there's nothing more to say. The vote continues. Today, I must make you face reality!"

Saying that, the two sat back down.

Asta: "..."

March 7th leaned close to Himeko's ear and asked: "Can't the Aeon of Elation just forcibly give power to others without their consent? Why does he have to prove Zeig is a lunatic?"

Himeko crossed her hands on the table, thought for a moment, and explained: "Because it's more fun that way."

March 7th: "..."

Himeko: "Actually, I'm quite puzzled too. Clearly, Zeig's behavior seems so unreasonable to us, but under Wen Shiling's explanations, it suddenly becomes reasonable."

March 7th pouted:

"What's the use of that? She's banned now anyway. Besides, the fact that Zeig won't admit he's a lunatic is already pretty lunatic in itself. The Aeon of Elation is practically offering him power, yet he insists on arguing—that's not being crazy?"

At this point, Welt leaned over and said: "March, about that, I have some insight."

March 7th: "Then tell us, Uncle Yang."

Welt pushed up his glasses and analyzed:

"Assuming all of Wen Shiling's analyses hold true, what conclusion can we draw?"

March 7th scratched her head: "Conclusion? What conclusion? At most, it proves he's a normal person."

Welt nodded:

"Correct. Since he's a normal person, everything he does has a reason. For example, Zeig isn't deliberately disagreeing with the Aeon of Elation. Though he hasn't mentioned it, I believe his actual goal is to avoid accepting the power of Elation and becoming his Emanator."

March 7th was stunned: "Ah, why? Getting powerful strength isn't a good thing? The Aeon of Destruction has already singled him out for death, right?"

Welt continued analyzing:

"It's true the Aeon of Destruction wants to kill him, and he must be worried about that. But the question is—can the Aeon of Elation truly be trusted?"

March covered her small mouth in surprise:

"Uncle Yang, you mean!"

"Exactly." Welt nodded, "What Zeig is considering should be more far-sighted. Rashly letting an Aeon's power enter his body—can he really guarantee that power will fully belong to him? Could the Aeon of Elation still control it afterward? If he can, given the Aeon of Elation's personality, might he one day do something disadvantageous to Zeig? Clearly, Zeig is carefully weighing many issues."

Himeko smiled and nodded beside them:

"Welt is right. I heard that the Aeon of Elation once gave all his power to a bug, just to see if it could eventually join the Genius Society. After getting an unsatisfactory result, he very decisively withdrew the power, and that bug died in an extremely miserable state."

March 7th suddenly realized:

"So that guy Zeig was actually thinking that deeply?!"

Himeko, Welt, and even Dan Heng—who had been silent and quietly sitting—nodded in unison.

March 7th: "..."

Good grief, she's the only one who couldn't see it.

She really thought Zeig was just being stupid by insisting on arguing with the Aeon of Elation.

Looking at it this way, everything he does is thought out—being an idiot is just a facade!

March 7th looked at Zeig in the guest seats; he still had that carefree attitude.

She suddenly wondered if Uncle Yang and the others were overinterpreting.

Zeig noticed March 7th staring at him from across and asked puzzled:

"What, why are you staring at me? Turn right after you exit the restroom.."

March 7th: "..."

…Could it be that they're the ones overthinking it?
