Chapter 5 - 5 tempered steel

Zuko danced and danced till he couldn't stand anymore. He literally had to drag himself back into his tent to eat his rations and to quench the dryness of his lips.

"Ha ha ha!"

But no matter how sore he was, Zuko couldn't hide his delight. It felt nostalgic. He could remember a manga in his past life, where swordsmen and demons fought, making him remember those rosey days.

'It isn't an exact copy or anything' Zuko thought as he compared their styles. His sword movements were not created or limited to a fixed form, but a fixed way. For example, the burning sun halo, was a mindset, a path ,if he would, to use chi along with his sword movements. In the burning sun halo style, all sword movements are limited to circular or semi circular or even partially circular arcs with fire like chi focused at the tip of the blade. This created a visual halo as well as a strong but concentrated heat. Like the outer shell of the sun.

Chi was, in a sense , alive. When a person is pure in heart, his chi would gain the attributes of good while the chi of a person with worst qualities would gain an evil nature. It always follow a predetermined path. It follows the natural paths that exist in the world. That was why Zuko could influence his chi to resonate with the fire of the sun.

But chi was limited. It's influence small. While it could take the form of elements, it wasnt nearly as efficient as bending in that aspect. In the end, only the spirit matters. Zuko knew how the spirits were able to take the concepts onto themselves. To do that, he would need to guide the cosmic energy gained by opening the thought chakra into himself.

Zuko frowned. Influencing the world with will sounded a lot like conqurer haki to him. He already created a version of arment haki, and he could hear the voice of everything after opening the sound chakra.

"How coincidental"

He pushed that thought aside after thinking about his future prospects for a while. He was stronger than he was before he lost his fire bending. His training was easier because Zuko had laid a strong foundation when he was alive. The sword styles he used to imitate the elements were nothing but the entry point for the true power he sought. The power of self.Speaking of which, did he need a new Identity?

His gaze stopped at a blue colored object that had fallen out of his bag when he had rummaged it for the water scroll. He picked it up slowly, almost lost on what to do with it. However that changed as a smirk appeared on his face, making him look as if he was plotting something evil as his hand reached to his side, touching the scar tissue that Zhao had given to him as a parting gift. Identity crisis can wait for his soul searching arc, he had some other interest.

"What say you and me go and meet some old friends" Zuko spoke to the object

" We've got some debts to settle "

The blue demon mask in his hands simply grinned ferociously as it shined under the sun light.
