Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Scenery on the Deck

Lucas felt a slight toothache looking at Rhys and Buizel, who were tightly clutching Octillery in their arms on the surface of the sea.

When fishing, if the line breaks, shouldn't you just watch the fish escape?

Why did he jump down and cut off its escape route?

Later, he thought, this is the world of Pokémon, so it was reasonable.

After dragging Octillery back onto the boat, Rhys wiped the seawater from his body.

"Fishing is so much fun," Rhys said, wiping himself and looking at Buizel.

Buizel looked at Rhys, and then they both started laughing.

Lucas sighed at the sight.

"Your fishing method really is something else."

Lucas shook his head, "You don't always jump down and catch them directly every time you can't reel in a fish, do you?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Rhys and Buizel exchanged glances and fell silent.

You're not actually planning to do that, are you?!

Lucas was a bit shocked.

After thinking for a while, Rhys shook his head.

"How could that be?"

He laughed, "That wouldn't be in line with how we fishing enthusiasts do things."

Lucas was somewhat unconvinced.

"Judging by your expressions, it looked like you were tempted just now, weren't you?"

Listening to Lucas's words, Rhys scratched the back of his head.

He gave a healthy smile.

Seriously, in the world of Pokémon, without powerful Pokémon by his side, jumping into the ocean far from shore without considering the consequences.

He really isn't afraid of encountering danger.

Thinking of this, Lucas righteously criticized Rhys and Buizel.

Rhys stood at attention, lowering his head, listening carefully to Lucas's criticism.

Buizel did too.

After Lucas finished speaking, he remembered that today was for fun and he shouldn't ruin the atmosphere too much.

Then he let them off the hook.

Rhys grinned as he looked at the Octillery that he and Buizel had caught.

At this moment, it was trembling under Gengar's gaze.

Rhys looked at it and really wanted to catch it.

When he was in the water earlier, he could feel how strong Octillery was.

After all, even when held tightly in his arms, it struggled so violently.

And Octillery looked at Rhys, also lost in thought.

It had originally planned to use ink to obscure their vision and escape, but a Gengar nearby was staring intently at it.

And Gengar was holding a Shadow Ball in its hand.

So scary!

"?"

Rhys was a bit surprised to see the Poké Ball that appeared before him.

Then he looked at Lucas.

"Go on."

Lucas nodded, signaling Rhys to accept the Poké Ball and then catch Octillery.

He could tell that Rhys really liked this Octillery.

Rhys happily accepted the Poké Ball.

"Thank you, Shopkeeper."

Then he went to Octillery, just about to let Buizel have a thrilling battle to catch it.

However, Octillery, with quick reflexes, pressed the Poké Ball.

Then it was sucked into the ball.

It didn't struggle at all; it was caught directly.

Rhys: ?

Lucas: ?

Gengar: ?

Buizel: ??

Octillery: Great, finally got rid of Gengar.

Seeing Gengar regretfully wipe the corner of its mouth nearby.

Lucas swallowed the words he was about to say.

Next time, I can't make so much seafood for Gengar to eat.

After Rhys caught Octillery, Lucas sat back down.

He focused on his fishing rod.

Gengar and Rhys both got a bite; next should be him, right?

Thinking of this, Lucas's eyes were full of anticipation.

Then the fishing rod shook.

It wasn't Lucas's.

He turned his head to look.

Gengar's and Buizel's fishing rods both shook.

Seeing Gengar reel in a Magikarp.

Lucas scoffed at Gengar.

"Kekeke!"

What are you laughing at? You don't even have a Magikarp.

Looking at Gengar's expression, Lucas guessed what Gengar was saying.

He turned his head to look at his fishing rod in a huff.

Be patient.

Be patient.

Be patient.

Lucas's heart slowly calmed down.

He stared intently at his fishing rod.

After Mime Jr. and Gothorita delivered lunch, they ran off to find Lilligant and the others.

"Mime ~"

Mime Jr. saw Lilligant and the others on a deck, quietly watching the sea.

"Lalala ~"

Lilligant turned her head, looking at Mime Jr.

She welcomed Mime Jr. and Gothorita's arrival.

The Pokémon started playing on the deck.

They chased each other, careful not to disturb the people fishing on the boat.

The others, seeing that Lilligant and the others wouldn't disturb them, didn't make things difficult for them; on the contrary, they would talk to them as they passed by.

When they played hide-and-seek, they would even secretly use their eyes to indicate hiding spots behind their backs.

But at the same time, one or two people also got the idea to tease them, deliberately pointing to wrong locations.

Mime Jr. got angry and came to confront them.

For a time, the deck was filled with laughter and joy.

And Lucas, seeing them having fun, let them be.

Now it was Marill's turn to hide.

It waddled around, looking for a suitable hiding spot.

It came over to Lucas's side, curiously looking at their buckets.

Gengar had the most fish, almost filling its bucket; next was Rhys, with half; Buizel even had a few.

Last was Lucas.

Only water.

It looked at Lucas, who was in a somewhat bad mood.

"Rillu ~"

It comforted Lucas.

Lucas smiled and looked at Marill.

Its body was blue and white, round, with a black spring-like tail ending in a sphere.

Its ears were round, with red insides.

He patted its small head.

Then he picked it up and sat it on his lap, shielding it with his body.

"It's okay, Marill, I'll cover you," Lucas whispered into its ear.

"Rillu ~"

On the deck, Vulpix was searching for the hidden Pokémon everywhere, and it quickly found Mime Jr. and the others.

Only Marill was left.

It searched everywhere but couldn't find it.

It came over to Lucas's side, seeing Lucas, Rhys, Gengar, and Buizel intently fishing.

Lucas had his back to it.

It looked from a distance and found that the area was narrow, with no suitable places for Marill to hide.

But it seemed to see a hint of blue in Lucas's arms.

Then Lucas shifted his body and blocked it from view.

"Vulpix?"

Vulpix tilted its head, a bit curious.

It had originally intended to go over and let Lucas pet it.

Then it saw Lucas's serious back.

It didn't go up but left the area.

It went to search elsewhere.

Lucas had his back to Vulpix, pretending to be very serious about fishing.

Vulpix searched for a long time, then went to ask the others on the deck.

Several people said Marill had come over to Lucas's side.

It ran back to this area, still watching from a distance.

It didn't find any traces.

Until it was told again that Marill was over here, it watched from a distance for a while, then walked forward.

It found Marill in Lucas's arms, grinning and looking at it.

"Vulpix!"

Got you.

This game declared Vulpix the winner.

Afterward, Vulpix criticized Lucas.

"Vulpix!"

You cheated.

Hearing Vulpix's somewhat angry voice, Lucas couldn't help but laugh.

Then he picked up Vulpix.

He comforted it.

It happily took Marill back to the main group.

After the game ended, the Pokémon once again watched the sea.

Vulpix sat on the railing, staring at a passing Gyarados.

Gyarados, with its fiery temper, was about to come up and teach Vulpix a lesson.

However, it noticed a Lilligant next to Vulpix, holding an Energy Ball the size of a basketball, staring intently at it.

Feeling the Grass-type energy contained within.

Gyarados turned around instantly, leaving decisively.

And Lilligant seemed to sense something.

She looked in Lucas's direction.

"Lalala?"
