Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Lucian is Slacking Off

After hanging up the phone, Lucas looked at Lucian in front of him, feeling a sudden, inexplicable pity for him.

He was working overtime again.

Lucian was also looking at Lucas.

He was very familiar with Cynthia?

Cynthia's imposing face appeared in his mind, filling him with curiosity.

Gothorita, who had taken Mime Jr. back to the room to rest, walked over and placed a pot of freshly brewed tea on the table.

Lucas and Lucian sat down, and Jenny, seeing this, left the Breeding House to help out.

The remaining arrangements were left to Lucian and Lucas.

"Shopkeeper Lucas, what do you think we should do next?"

Lucian took a sip of tea. The tea was fragrant, rich, and refreshing. He closed his eyes contentedly.

Normally, he loved to read, and his favorite thing to do while reading was to drink tea. For him, drinking tea while reading was the most satisfying thing.

Gothorita's tea brewing skills, after Lucas's training, had become masterful.

Lucas took a sip of tea, moistening his dry lips. After a moment of thought, he began to voice his ideas.

Lucian listened and nodded, also offering his own opinions.

Finally, after their discussion, a general plan was decided upon.

After the discussion, Lucian drained the tea in his cup and stood up, saying to Lucas:

"Then, Shopkeeper Lucas, I'll go arrange the remaining matters according to our plan."

Lucas nodded.

"Just call me Lucas."

"Alright, Lucas. You can also just call me Lucian. Well, Lucas, I won't disturb your rest then."

Lucian smiled gently, and with a refined air, he bowed slightly.

"Here, on behalf of myself, I want to thank you again."

With that, Lucian turned and walked out of the Breeding House, setting up the arrangements according to his and Lucas's plan.

Watching Lucian's retreating back, Lucas yawned, said goodbye to Shauna in the backyard, and then went back to his upstairs room to sleep.

With Vulpix in his arms, Mime Jr. lying beside him, Lilligant and Gothorita resting in the room, and Gengar still hiding in the ceiling, Lucas fell asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.

Outside the Breeding House, after Lucian had made the arrangements, his phone rang.

"Hello, hello, Lucian. How are things going on your end? Do you need me to come help?"

A chuunibyou-like voice came through.

Looking at the screen with the fiery red explosion of hair, Lucian shook his head.

"You're neither early nor late, there's only some finishing work left. You can still come, though."

Listening to Lucian's unhurried words, Flint shook his head.

"Then never mind. If you've already solved it, there's no point in me coming."

"But that's impressive, Lucian, you managed to solve this matter all by yourself—"

Flint's chattering gave Lucian a headache. He rubbed his eyes, which hadn't slept all night, and said:

"It was solved by a powerful Breeder. I'm just here to finish up."

"An excellent Breeder? Who? Wallace?"

Lucian shook his head. He spoke about the Breeding House and Lucas's matters, but he didn't mention the relationship between Lucas and Cynthia.

After a while, Lucian simply hung up the phone.

He recalled his conversation with Lucas earlier.

Many arrangements were logical and well-reasoned. He smiled; as expected of a Breeder Cynthia knew.

Over the next few days, Lucian stayed at the Breeding House, handling these matters.

The plan he and Lucas had discussed was for these people and Pokémon to stay for a few more days for observation, to see the situation. At the same time, the residents of Twinleaf Town also stayed at home, in isolation. If any symptoms appeared, they would immediately receive treatment, and an in-depth study would be conducted into the cause of the illness.

After a few days, the people and Pokémon who had stayed for observation gradually left, and Twinleaf Town also promptly treated the families who showed symptoms after isolation.

Now, almost no new symptoms were appearing in Twinleaf Town, and the town was slowly beginning to regain its vitality.

Lucian was currently sitting in the backyard of the Breeding House, drinking tea from a teapot brought by Gothorita.

He was carefully looking at the results Lucas had just handed him.

"So it was mosquitoes?"

Lucian suddenly understood.

Mosquitoes were indeed the culprit behind many diseases, but once the cause was known, the final finishing touches became even simpler.

He took out his phone, gave some instructions, then put away the report. Lucian pulled out a book he carried with him, and slowly began to read while sipping his tea.

This life—

Lucian let out a sigh of contentment.

It was a good thing he came to work overtime this time; otherwise, where would he find such a pleasant environment?

He might as well take advantage of the excuse that things weren't finished yet to drag it out for a few more days and relax a bit longer.

Lucian took a sip of tea and looked up.

The Pokémon of the Breeding House were playing around in the entire backyard. For the past few days, a bold Pachirisu had been jumping onto his lap, quietly munching on berries.

Lucian didn't refuse this Pachirisu. He had only learned in the past few days that the playful noises of Pokémon didn't bother him at all.

In the distance, Lucas's figure was busy in the plantation with Gengar and the others.

Lucas placed the selected seeds one by one into the holes Gengar had dug, and Lilligant, following behind, gently covered the holes where the seeds had been placed.

Several Aipom and Ambipom, led by Shauna, carried watering cans and watered them one by one.

Under Lucas's leadership, the group quickly planted all the traditional herbal seeds.

Looking at the bare herb garden, Lucas blinked.

He believed it wouldn't be long before the traditional herbs in the plantation would grow back.

Lilligant spread her arms.

Gathering Grass-type energy, she shared it from herself to the plantation.

"Roserade's cry~"

Then Lilligant lowered her arms, looking a bit tired as she hugged Lucas.

Lucas smiled, stroked her small head, and praised her generously.

Lilligant happily squinted her eyes.

He led them towards the Breeding House.

"Gengar, you can only eat snacks after washing your hands."

"gengar sound—"

Marill, help me.

"Marill's cry."

Splash~

"gengar sound—"

It's clean.

Then, holding snacks, he floated beside Lucas, eating them.

Arriving at the lounge area, Lucas saw Lucian leisurely drinking tea and reading a book.

What a relaxed person.

After simply asking Lucian what he wanted to eat, Lucas went back to the kitchen to cook.

Lucian continued reading. Just then, Gothorita walked over.

Mime Jr. followed behind her.

"Gothorita~"

Can we ask you for a favor?

Lucian looked up at them with a smile.

"Of course."

"Gothorita~"

Can you teach us how to become stronger?

Sensing the meaning in Gothorita's words, Lucian's eyes widened.

You want me to guide you?

Looking at Gothorita and Mime Jr. in front of him.

As a Psychic-type Elite Four, he was quite confident in his mastery of Psychic types.

Thinking about how he had been staying here for free for several days, Lucian marked his book with a bookmark and then closed it.

"In that case, I will guide you!"

With that, Lucian placed the book on the table and stood up.

The Pachirisu on his leg, still in a daze, was directly flung off.

Pachirisu:?!

Is that polite?!

Lucian gave an apologetic smile, then led Gothorita and Mime Jr. towards an open space.

Gengar, chewing on a snack, followed them.

"gengar sound—"

I'll go watch too.

As if remembering something, Gengar stopped, looking at the dozing Vulpix.

After a moment's thought, he picked up Vulpix and followed along.

The guidance training by Lucian, the strongest Psychic-type Elite Four of the Sinnoh region, officially began.
