Chapter 28 - The Lost Juvenile Yuki-Onna

With that, Kawashima Toya strode directly past Yukinoshita Yukino and approached the little girl trembling behind the curtains.

"Ice-blue long hair, plain appearance—perhaps even a bit simple."

"Dressed in a white kimono."

Toya activated his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, scrutinizing the little girl, and an answer gradually surfaced in his mind.

"Looks similar to the juvenile Yuki-Onna, Koji, from that Chuunibyou girl anime."

[Name: Yuki-Onna (Unnamed)]

[Strength: Paper Rank]

[Description: A juvenile Yuki-Onna. Due to her youth, her appearance is extremely plain. She fears strangers. Upon reaching adulthood, her appearance will undergo a drastic change, transforming her into a woman of breathtaking beauty.]

"Sure enough, it's a Yuki-Onna. Just not sure if it's the same juvenile one from Dropkick on My Devil!!."

"I'll take her back to the agency first and think about what to do next."

Just as Toya was about to communicate with the Yuki-Onna, he suddenly felt a gust of wind from behind.

Yukino couldn't accept Toya taking the little girl away.

In her eyes, Toya looked like nothing but a swindler.

If she let him take the girl, the child would undoubtedly be in danger.

This sudden turn of events stunned both Hikigaya Hachiman and Yuigahama Yui; neither could react in time.

"Heh, are you trying to be funny?" Toya smiled faintly and spoke gently to the girl, "Little Yuki-Onna, don't be afraid."

"Big brother will take you to find your family after dealing with this annoyance."

Smack!

With that, Toya spun around instantly, grabbing Yukino's small hand. He mocked, "Please, you're super weak!"

Although Yukino had trained in Aikido and might catch a peer off guard...

Against him, she was just feeding him a kill.

Toya released her hand with gentlemanly grace and said calmly, "I'll let it slide this time. But please, rude young lady, be aware of the gap in our strength."

"I can tolerate it once, but that doesn't mean I'll tolerate it twice."

Yukino's beautiful face was covered in frost, her delicate body trembling with anger.

When had she ever suffered such humiliation? To be so utterly disregarded...

But she wasn't an idiot; she could distinguish the difference in their strength.

If she continued to fight, the outcome would undoubtedly be her defeat.

Defeat was one thing, but if Toya really got serious...

Yukino stared at the Demon Sword Murasame in Toya's hand and said gravely, "That is a real sword."

As a daughter of a prestigious family, she had naturally seen real swords before.

The one Toya held was undoubtedly authentic.

If she angered Toya, she couldn't guarantee she could control what happened next.

To the side, Yui and Hachiman both breathed a sigh of relief.

They had both seen Toya's strength.

If this continued, Yukino would only be the one getting bullied.

"At least you have some self-awareness!"

Toya turned to the Yuki-Onna with a gentle smile. "Come with me. I'll take you to find your family."

The Yuki-Onna looked at Toya with teary eyes, especially drawn to his eyes—pure azure, like the sky itself.

Trembling all over, the Yuki-Onna slowly placed her hand in Toya's palm.

Toya held her hand and said softly, "Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you."

With that, Toya led the Yuki-Onna away.

The instinctive fear of a yokai made her tremble uncontrollably.

During this time, Yukino wanted to say something, but didn't dare to speak.

"Yukinon, your behavior just now was too rude," Yui mustered her courage to say dissatisfiedly as she watched Toya leave.

"Otherwise, how would he have known at a glance that the little girl is a Yuki-Onna?"

"Oh right! As the client, I have to go check it out."

Yui put on a pained expression. "This commission cost a whole one hundred thousand yen."

"If Kawashima doesn't complete the commission properly, I'm going to ask for a refund!"

"Wait!" Yukino suddenly spoke up, her beautiful face cold. "I'm coming too."

She was no match for Toya, but she couldn't ignore the issue of the Yuki-Onna.

What if Toya did something harmful to the Yuki-Onna?

"Kawashima really is a professional."

"That's great!" Yui's beautiful, slightly childish face was filled with joy. "This is a perfect chance to ease the tension between you and Kawashima."

Not long after, Toya returned to the Trash Fox Detective Agency with the little Yuki-Onna. He glanced at the uneasy Yukino. "Come in."

"The agency never turns away potential customers."

He wasn't a child who threw tantrums at the drop of a hat.

Yukino was a potential client. After all, people from prestigious families were always targeted by bad guys.

Who knew when she might need his help in the future?

When that time came, he would fleece her thoroughly.

Yukino's exquisite face remained icy as she silently entered the agency without a word.

Seeing that Toya wasn't angry with Yukino, Yui breathed a sigh of relief.

If the two of them started fighting here, she really wouldn't know what to do.

Yui warmly pulled Yukino to sit opposite Toya. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she asked:

"Kawashima, how did you know she was a little Yuki-Onna?"
