Chapter 35 - The Blood-Stained Angel Halo

Gabriel shook her head gently and said with utmost politeness, "It was just a dispute over some trivial matters. Please don't worry about it."

"Is that so? If it's just a trivial matter, then don't hold a grudge," Kawashima Toya said, sounding like an old man giving advice. "It's not worth it for your own sake."

Gabriel's eyebrow twitched, and she forced a smile. "Yes, getting angry over trivial matters is unbecoming."

At this moment, although Gabriel wore a gentle smile, internally she had flipped countless tables.

Could that be called a trivial matter?

She had been played for a fool by the same jerk twice in a row.

First, she was tricked into going to a place called the North Pole, where she was baptized by freezing winds and blizzards.

After waiting for ages, she realized there was no one there. Only after returning home did she learn that the North Pole was a famous uninhabited zone.

That was the first time she was played like a monkey. The second time, she was tricked into going to an uninhabited island.

It wasn't until she arrived at the island that she confirmed she had been pranked again.

In her rage, she even forgot the angel's code of conduct and used her divine power to destroy the island.

This resulted in a significant deduction of her Angel Academy credits, and even her halo had turned blood-red.

"It seems this matter won't end so simply," Toya thought, clearly sensing the rage radiating from Gabriel.

It was a fury that couldn't be suppressed, no matter how hard she tried to hide it.

Toya waved his hand. "It's great that you understand. Well then, I'm going back inside."

As he turned to leave, Toya quietly activated his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

With the eyes activated, Toya immediately saw the world in its truest form.

Gabriel was shrouded in a blood-red aura, and even the originally bright and gentle halo above her head had turned crimson.

From a distance, she looked like an avenging angel who had crawled up from hell to the human realm.

"Is this the consequence of excessive killing?"

"Even animals counted..."

Toya glanced at her one last time before unhurriedly walking back into his apartment.

He wasn't worried about Gabriel.

Although an angel's halo was a source of power, even if it turned completely blood-red, she just needed to find something to wipe it with, and it would return to normal.

Gabriel watched silently as Toya left the balcony. Only then did she drop her facade, waving her small, pale fist in the air.

"Damn Trash Fox, you made a fool of me this time."

"I will remember this grudge!"

Back in her apartment, Gabriel looked at the blood-red resentment covering her body and her crimson halo with a look of disgust. "I have to wash it again."

"I shouldn't carry my halo around with me in the future!"

"Washing it every day is so troublesome."

----

Utaha's Apartment.

"Personal strength is true strength."

Thinking of Gabriel's rage, Toya decided to train hard.

As long as he was strong enough, even if he was eventually exposed...

He would just beat Gabriel again, face-to-face.

Toya looked expectantly at the items in the System Shop. "Finally saved up 30,000 Source Points!"

"System, purchase the Tutelage of the Shadow Land's Queen."

[System Notice: Deducted 30,000 Source Points. Purchased: Tutelage of the Shadow Land's Queen.]

[System Notice: Scáthach's tutelage will begin daily after the Host falls asleep.]

[Duration: One month. Any rewards obtained during this period will be brought back to reality.]

"Time to sleep!"

After dinner, Toya bid farewell to Kasumigaoka Utaha and went straight to his bedroom to sleep.

This scene made Utaha incredibly envious.

"I want to sleep so bad!"

"But I still have my light novel manuscript to finish..."

As a young man, Toya's ability to fall asleep and the quality of his sleep were top-tier.

Less than a minute after lying down, he drifted into a sweet dream.

----

Meanwhile, in a world unknown distance away.

In the Type-Moon Universe, within the Land of Shadows—one of the many fae realms—Queen Scáthach held a formless Holy Grail in her hands and shouted aloud:

"Where is the one who can kill me!?"

Suddenly, the formless Holy Grail seemed to hear Scáthach's wish. It began to tremble abruptly, the violent vibrations causing even the Land of Shadows to shudder slightly.

Sensing the anomaly, a hint of anticipation curled the corners of Scáthach's exquisite, seductive lips. "This Grail is not simple!"

"Has the one who can kill me arrived?"

As she spoke, Scáthach turned to look at the vast, empty plaza. "Let me see just what kind of person can kill me."

A pillar of light descended suddenly. A magnificent, vast aura of the Root spread in all directions.

Even Scáthach had to admit that the pillar of light contained a supreme mystery beyond imagination.

As the pillar of light slowly dissipated, Toya looked around at his surroundings, slightly bewildered. "Where am I?"

He remembered going to sleep. How did he suddenly end up in this almost lightless world?
