Chapter 74 - The Holy Sword of Physics—Crowbar

"I need to end this in one hit. I can't let Jashin-chan unleash her full power!"

Kawashima Toya sized up Jashin-chan's body, quickly identifying the critical spot that would neutralize her powers for a while.

His clear, azure Mystic Eyes of Death Perception held no emotion, only cold indifference.

Meeting Toya's gaze, Jashin-chan felt a chill run down her spine, as if she were being targeted by some terrifying predator. Her body went stiff.

By the time she shook off the paralyzing fear of the Mystic Eyes, Toya was already right in front of her.

"Sorry!"

Bang!

Thud!

"Ugh—!"

A heavy, devastating blow from the crowbar struck Jashin-chan square in the stomach. The immense force sent her flying, crashing uncontrollably against the wall.

"It's done! Time to go!"

Seeing that he had successfully destroyed the source of Jashin-chan's power, Toya immediately turned to leave.

"A sneak attack?"

Jashin-chan slid down the wall, clutching her stomach in pain. Her blue eyes glared daggers at Toya's retreating back. "Don't think you can get away, you dirty coward!"

"I'll kill you!"

Hearing Jashin-chan's angry roar, still full of energy, Toya had to admire her. "As expected of a High-Class Devil. That physical resilience is impressive."

His strike just now had held nothing back. Even with a simple crowbar, it was a devastating attack.

For Jashin-chan to still have the energy to threaten him after having her power source shattered... one could only envy a devil's constitution.

"Hey, Gothic Lolita girl, remember to hit Jashin-chan's power source every ten days to keep her in check."

Toya shouted a quick instruction to Hanazono Yurine before vanishing from the scene.

Jashin-chan wanted to give chase, but with her power source destroyed, she couldn't muster any strength.

Aside from her nearly immortal devil body, she was powerless.

She could only watch helplessly as Toya escaped.

Even after he was gone, Jashin-chan continued to scream threats, swearing she would get her revenge.

"An intruder?" Hanazono Yurine's exquisite face darkened, a gloomy aura surrounding her.

in her dark Lolita dress, she looked more like a terrifying devil than Jashin-chan did.

Sensing the murderous aura behind her, Jashin-chan stiffened and turned around, forcing a smile. "Actually, this has nothing to do with me!"

"That jerk even hit me with a crowbar! It still hurts!"

She pointed to the clearly visible bruise on her stomach.

Hanazono Yurine wasn't interested in excuses. She walked over, step by step.

"You must have provoked him; otherwise, why would he break in?"

A miserable, tragic scream echoed through the run-down apartment.

After enduring a beating from Hanazono Yurine, Jashin-chan's blue eyes burned with the flames of hatred. "I will get revenge! I have to get revenge!"

"How can a dignified High-Class Devil let herself be bullied like this!"

At noon, while Hanazono Yurine was working at a maid cafe, Jashin-chan quietly slipped out of the apartment.

Relying on her deep, hateful memory of Toya's scent, she tracked him down.

Toya, who had already retreated to the entrance of Jimbocho, seemed to hear Jashin-chan's distant scream and shook his head. "Sorry, don't hold it against me."

"I didn't want to do this."

"If we ever meet again, I'll apologize."

The Evil God's Banquet was starting tomorrow night. If he let Jashin-chan run wild, it could cause serious trouble.

He didn't want to deal with a dangerous banquet while also worrying about Jashin-chan gathering her strength to dropkick Tokyo into oblivion.

[Ding! World Commission Complete! Reward: 20,000 Source Points!]

"That commission was surprisingly easy."

Sitting in a taxi back to the Trash Fox Detective Agency, Toya sighed contentedly.

If only every world commission were this safe and simple.

The taxi sped along the road, arriving at the Trash Fox Detective Agency a short while later.

Inside, Kasumigaoka Utaha sat at his desk, frowning as if she were grappling with a difficult problem.

Beside her, Kasugano Sora looked just as troubled.

Toya walked in and asked, "What's wrong? Utaha, Sora, you two look worried."

"Well, there is one thing..." Utaha handed her phone to Toya. "Yukinoshita Yukino's apartment doesn't allow pets."

"She found a pair of kittens and wants to know if we can foster them temporarily at the agency."

"Sora really likes kittens." Sora's face was full of melancholy. "But the Trash Fox Agency is Big Brother's workplace."

"If we keep kittens here, it might bother the clients."

Hearing this, Toya laughed. "If you want to raise them, then raise them."
