Chapter 74: The Persistent Katō Dan – Sleeping Together
After giving Katō Dan a simple lesson, Ling Yu leisurely carried Tsunade back to his residence on his back.
"Huh? Ling Yu, why are you two back so late?"
Kushina and Mikoto, who had been waiting inside the tent, saw them return and immediately set down the ninjutsu scroll they were reading before walking over.
"What's wrong with Big Sis Tsunade?"
Mikoto wrinkled her nose at the strong smell of alcohol coming from Tsunade. She quickly helped Ling Yu lay Tsunade down on the bed.
"Mmm… the alcohol smell is so strong. I'll go make some hangover soup for her first."
After setting Tsunade down, the smell of alcohol grew even stronger. Mikoto hurried to the small kitchen area.
"Ling Yu! What are you doing?!"
Kushina saw Ling Yu starting to remove Tsunade's clothes and immediately rushed over to stop him.
"Changing clothes for my sister—what else would I be doing?"
With his hand caught by Kushina, Ling Yu calmly explained without changing his expression.
"Men and women shouldn't have such close contact!"
"But when she got drunk in the past, I was always the one who changed her clothes."
Ling Yu's words were shocking—it seemed this was something he did regularly.
"Mmm… even between siblings, it's not okay. You go out first—I'll change Big Sis Tsunade's clothes."
Kushina's pretty face flushed red. She immediately pushed Ling Yu out of the tent.
Standing outside, Ling Yu had nothing to do, so he sat on a large rock and started counting the stars.
Suddenly, he felt as though someone was watching him.
Ling Yu instantly activated Observation Haki, sharpening his five senses and expanding his spiritual perception outward.
Through his scan, he detected a relatively clear spiritual body passing through layers of obstacles and slipping into one of the tents—then it vanished.
"That's… a spiritual body I've never seen before? And the place it disappeared into is… Katō Dan's tent."
Opening his eyes, Ling Yu stood up from the rock. Concealing his chakra, he used Space Power to instantly arrive outside Katō Dan's tent.
Hiding beside it, he wanted to see what scheme Katō Dan was up to.
Ling Yu still remembered from the original story that Katō Dan possessed a technique called Spirit Transformation Technique.
It allowed him to separate his spiritual energy from his physical body, materialize his spirit into a "spiritual body," and use it to fight.
When the spiritual body possessed someone, it could either control their body to fight or directly cause their physical body to collapse and die from the inside—ignoring distance. It was a terrifying assassination technique. Additionally, it could also possess allies and supply them with chakra.
The spiritual body that had just been watching him was clearly Katō Dan's technique. Seeing how sneaky his actions were, Ling Yu grew even more wary.
Inside Katō Dan's tent
"Phew… good thing I escaped quickly, or I would've been discovered."
After his spiritual body returned, Katō Dan climbed out of bed and spoke with relief.
"As expected of someone who wiped out thousands of Rain ninja—his vigilance is truly impressive. But for Lord Danzō's plan, I will not give up pursuing Tsunade."
At this moment, he still hadn't noticed that Ling Yu had been watching him the entire time—and every word he said had been clearly overheard.
"Hmph. You dare pursue my sister? Just wait—I'll make sure you regret it."
A cold glint flashed in Ling Yu's eyes. Then he took out the Curse Talisman of Misfortune that he had never used before from his system inventory.
"Use Curse Talisman of Misfortune. Target: Katō Dan."
After giving Katō Dan a little "gift," Ling Yu returned to Tsunade's tent with a sinister smile.
Though he didn't yet know what Danzō's old dog was planning by targeting him, since he dared to send someone after Tsunade—he would pay the price.
"Hey! Ling Yu, why are you smiling so creepily the moment you come in? Are you plotting something bad?"
Kushina had just finished tucking Tsunade in. Seeing Ling Yu return with that sinister grin, she walked over.
That smile gave her goosebumps—she had a feeling someone was about to suffer.
"Hmm? Nothing. How's my sister doing?"
Ling Yu quickly schooled his expression and changed the subject.
"Big Sis Tsunade is fine now. Kushina gave her a quick bath and changed her clothes. I fed her a bowl of hangover soup—she's already asleep."
Mikoto walked over and explained to Ling Yu.
"Since Tsunade is okay, let's go. We'll sleep together."
With Tsunade asleep, Ling Yu didn't want to stay long. Taking both girls by the hand, he prepared to head back to sleep.
"Who said I'm sleeping with you?!"
Kushina's face flushed red. She shook off his hand and shouted loudly.
"The tent isn't that big. If you don't want to sleep with me, then I'll sleep with Mikoto instead."
Ling Yu shrugged helplessly, putting on a shameless expression.
Hearing this, Mikoto—who was still holding Ling Yu's other hand—immediately blushed and lowered her head, not knowing what to think.
"No way! I'll sleep with Mikoto—you go sleep somewhere else!"
Kushina got angry and immediately pulled Mikoto over, hugging her tightly while glaring at Ling Yu.
"Fine then. I'll sleep with my sister."
Saying that, Ling Yu started climbing onto Tsunade's bed, ready to sleep beside her.
"No way!"
Kushina and Mikoto grabbed his arms at the same time, stopping him.
"If you won't let me sleep with you two, what's wrong with sleeping with my sister?"
Turning back, Ling Yu tilted his head and looked at the two girls with a perfectly reasonable expression.
"Mmm…" For a moment, Kushina and Mikoto were speechless.
"Um… Ling Yu, why don't you sleep with us instead? We can squeeze together with Big Sis Tsunade."
After a short silence, Mikoto spoke up softly.
"Fine."
And so, the three of them ended up sleeping on the same bed. Because they were all small, it wasn't too cramped—there was even a little extra space.
Ling Yu slept on the outermost side. Kushina—wanting to keep an eye on him—slept in the middle, while Mikoto slept on the innermost side.
"Hmph! I'm warning you—if you dare come closer, I'll smash your head!"
Kushina raised her fist and threatened Ling Yu, then placed a rope across the bed as a "demarcation line."
"Heh, with your little body? I wouldn't even bother coming over."
Ling Yu gave a dismissive glance at Kushina's still-undeveloped chest and showed a look of disdain.
"You…!"
Kushina's face immediately changed.
"Um… since Kushina is so worried, why don't I sleep in the middle instead?"
Seeing Kushina's expression shift, Mikoto raised her small hand and suggested.
"No way! Mikoto, you're too gentle—you might get taken advantage of by Ling Yu. It's better if I sleep in the middle. If he dares come over, I'll beat him to death."
As soon as she finished speaking, Kushina pulled Mikoto's hand down, acting like she was protecting her.
And so, the three squeezed together and slept through the night.
The Next Morning
"I said not to come over—yet you ended up clinging to me."
Feeling Kushina's arms and legs wrapped tightly around him, Ling Yu pulled her closer and helplessly complained.
He never expected Kushina's sleeping posture to be so bad. He had slept perfectly still, yet somehow during the night, Kushina had unconsciously rolled over and entwined herself around him.
"Mmm… Ling Yu, what are you doing?"
Woken by Ling Yu, Kushina rubbed her eyes and looked at him drowsily.
"Look for yourself."
Ling Yu pointed at the "demarcation line" rope behind Kushina and spoke flatly.
"Hehe… sorry, I thought you were Rina. I used to sleep while hugging her like this all the time."
Realizing her current position, Kushina quickly retreated back into her blanket and gave an embarrassed laugh.
"Alright, get up. I'm going to check on Big Sis Tsunade first."
Not bothering to argue with her, Ling Yu changed clothes, put on his shoes, and headed toward Tsunade's tent.
