Chapter 5 - Rise from the ashes

"The ring was a promise. The fire was the truth"

---

They called it a fairy tale.

A powerful man. A beautiful bride.

A lavish ceremony, sealed with stolen kisses and forged smiles.

But no one saw the monster behind his tailored suit.

No one heard the vows laced with venom.

No one noticed the matchstick tucked into the bouquet.

I did. But too late.

The moment I signed that marriage certificate, I wasn't a bride—I was a way towards revenge.

A pawn in a game I never agreed to play.

He wanted blood.

He wanted my brother's downfall.

He wanted my family's ruin to be written in my handwriting.

And he got it.

Piece by piece, he burned everything I loved—and made me watch.

Tortured me with twisted love, coated in guilt, wrapped in a smile I once believed in.

The love that once radiated from him is lost somewhere in the smoke.

Smoke which was enough to suffocate me.

Which was enough to make me choke my way to death but it never happened.

I was saved just to be shoved in it again.

But pain teaches.

Pain sharpens.

Pain wakes you up.

And somewhere between the bruises and the betrayals, I found something.

A diary. Forgotten. Hidden. Screaming truths that had long been buried under silence and shame.

It spoke of a shadow—a ghost pulling the strings long before I arrived.

Someone who started this fire long before I smelled the smoke.

Now I know.

This wasn't just about love gone wrong.

This was about war.

And I?

I'm not running anymore.

I'll read every cursed page.

Expose every lie.

Face every ghost—even if one of them wears my husband's face.

They burned me thinking I'd vanish.

But even ash can rise.

And I'm rising to watch them all burn
