Chapter 89 - Chapter 88: Becoming a Westeros Mountain Dweller From Now On

This concept was far too strange and distant for these natives of Westeros.

Arthur fell into a strange silence:

How does this woman know even this, as if she has truly lived inside a mountain?

"Excrement?" Barna's expression was a little odd. "You mean... we even need to build something specifically for going to the toilet?"

"Exactly!" Evelyn's answer was decisive. "Before construction begins! We must first plan two systems!"

"One is for the aqueduct! To directly bring clean water from the streams on High Mountain into various areas of the city! Then it will flow out of the mountain and into the river!"

"The other! Is a drainage ditch! To discharge all domestic sewage and rainwater out of the city! Away from our residential areas!"

"We also need to establish public latrines! And designate specific garbage dumping points! To be regularly cleared out of the city!"

"More crucially! We must build other secret passages for reinforcements to enter! To evacuate the mountain! And to retreat into High Mountain!"

"This is the lifeline to ensure all of us can survive!"

The council hall was dead silent.

Lucien, Barna, Hakon, these men who rolled around in battlefields and ledgers, with no cultural background in their brains, were now completely blank.

They could understand high walls and arrow towers, but they completely failed to grasp the intricacies of construction within a mountain, and why such immense effort should be expended on feces and sewage. It sounded like a complete fantasy.

Everyone's gaze ultimately converged on Arthur. Arthur had not spoken; he merely repeatedly looked at Evelyn's blueprints, then stared intently at the woman, his eyes growing brighter and brighter. The way he looked at Evelyn made the courtiers, who did not know Evelyn's original appearance, feel a chill. They truly had not expected their Lord Arthur to like this sort of thing.

Genius! Genius! A genius design! A true thoroughbred! Arthur came from a world with a complete urban system! He knew better than anyone the value of Evelyn's words and this blueprint! What this woman possessed!

Was knowledge and foresight hundreds of years beyond this era! No! Thousands of years beyond the natives of Westeros!

He had found a truly good horse!!!!

Under everyone's focused gaze, Arthur slammed his palm heavily onto Evelyn's parchment, which depicted the grand blueprint.

"It will be done according to Evelyn's blueprint plan!"

His voice was not loud, but it carried an unshakeable power, echoing through the council hall:

"From today onwards! The construction of the military fortress! She will be fully responsible for its planning! All of you! Must unconditionally cooperate with her!"

Arthur's gaze sharply swept over everyone, taking in Lucien and Hakon's excitement, Barna's surprise, and Olivier's continued silence.

And Evelyn, standing silently, her perfect chest heaving violently, panting with a fragrant scent, unable to utter another word.

Night fell.

Evelyn slowly ascended the spiral stone steps. Her footsteps echoed particularly clearly in the empty tower, but the pace of her steps revealed her inner anxiety and unease. She had been summoned by Arthur; she had said too much during the day.

Evelyn stood outside the door for a long time before finally pushing open the heavy oak door. Only a few solitary candles were lit in the room, their flames flickering gently, casting Arthur's shadow on the stone wall behind him.

Arthur was not sitting in the lord's chair, which symbolized power, but was standing by a long table covered with blueprints, carefully examining her blueprints.

Evelyn's heart skipped a beat. She walked forward, bowing slightly, but her gaze was involuntarily drawn to the blueprints on the table.

They were her structural diagrams of the underground fortress; every line, every mark was from her hand. Arthur did not speak, merely quietly looking at the blueprints, yet he gave her immense pressure.

Finally, Arthur raised his head and looked at her in silence.

"Evelyn," Arthur finally spoke, his voice not loud, but like a stone dropped into a deep well, stirring ripples. "There's no one else here now. I want to know, who exactly are you?"
