Lyren looked at this sight and realized that the last time as he was in a trance, he had missed this detail. He watched as the concrete floor turned to marble that sent jealousy into his peasant heart.
As a peasant, he could only dream of seeing marble. Yet, the creators here were so lavish that they had ended up using it as floor. Lyren felt like digging it out but he recalled that it was just concrete and it was likely he was being taken back in time.
Wherever this fluidlike glow touched, everything that was not supposed to be there seemed to get removed. No, it was being sent into midair where it seemed to be looking for its counter parts. He looked around and the statues that surrounded him seemed to also have some changes as their feet started glowing and also changing.
This came as a surprise but it appeared that the glow worked sideways first before going upwards. The glow stretched throughout reaching places he had not seen before. Places he had not concerned himself with actually.
These places had broken rocks that appeared to have been from buildings. The rocks were also levitated and further away, Lyren could see structures of buildings he had not seen before.
Then his gaze turned towards the stairs as they were his final destination and his only major concern. He watched as the dump stairs started turning from their dark appearance and getting washed white by the golden glow that touched them.
He could finally see how far each staircase stretched and he realized just how much he had underestimated them because his eyes could barely see the end of each case.
The glow seemed to continue stretching forward leaving a beautiful sight with each staircase having a golden strip on its edge. And then it happened as the glow started rising up and the sight that followed was going to have him humbled for the rest of his life.
It all started with the statue closest to him. The statue seemed to attract dust particles and small debris and then merged with it all. He thought that they were trying to become original statues but that could not be far from wrong because when no more debris or dust could merge with it, he felt a crack.
Cracks seemed to have a traumatic effect for him because it was usually accompanied by changes he was not expecting. Often dangerous ones. The crack this time though, was externa not internal. This brought him anticipation and a fast rated heartbeat.
The statue got covered by a golden glow from the bottom once again and as the goden glow rose up, changes happened as he saw… sandals?
That could not be right as his eyes might be playing tricks on him. As the glow rose up, his eyes popped out as he saw a silhouette. A white linen that seemed to blow with a wind that was non-existent.
His thought came to stand still as he started praying that his thoughts to not be true. The glow reached the waist and it was clear to see that it was taking the shape of a real woman. He saw a slender arm witch clenched fists and a bare back appeared with only two strips holing it.
Black hair cascaded down and rested on her back. There was a rose flower planted on her hair and then, there was movement as he saw the fist she was clenching release. The blowing silhouette he had seen was a white shawl she had been carrying on her elbow region.
Then she turned back revealing a beautiful smile that seemed to supplement her brown eyes. Her cheeks were flushed as though she was just in the middle of something fun.
Lyren could not help but feel a sense of attraction. He never knew that he was this weak towards women. He wiped those thoughts away as he looked around and saw similar changes taking place.
Statues of all kind seemed to be changing to humans who still stood lined up. They were people of all ages and gender. Some had white hair and some had fresh hair. There were also kids of all ages starting from newborns to toddlers and there were children aged 5 and above.
There were kids his age and some were taller and older than him. He realized just how important arrays were to have people of all ages gathered to study them. That was not all. There were also men and women who had swords on their waists.
Others had something strapped on their backs that appeared like rolled like scrolls but they were larger to be called scrolls. Probably they were paintings. They all seemed to send a glance to him once before looking forward towards the stairs.
Those that were facing him kept sending him curious gazes and the kids around kept chuckling and looking at him for longer periods. It was the adults before them that kept turning their heads so as not to look at him for longer periods. Lyren was curious what was going on here but he could only wait for everything to finally come to a stop.
But it did not appear that things were going to stop any soon though as the rock debris seemed to get transported to the structures he had seen and they turned out they were all buildings that were even more magnificent. If someone asked him what paradise was, then this was it.
There was no noise as everything was being rewound and the only thing that came were the whispers from the lined-up crowd. There were whimpers from the babies and some toddlers seemed to not want to let go of their mothers' leg holding tightly.
And then, their gazes unanimously turned towards the hall that seemed to be just thirty meters away. The hall seemed to have undergone a massive change as all the chipped off parts were restored and with time, its true majesty was restored.
It stood tall and imposing in its own way dwarfing the presence of all the other structure that surrounded this place. The hall was held steady by huge pillars each almost five meters wide. The pillars were curved with drawings of ancient creatures ranging from phoenixes to dragons.
Lyren was surprised as he realized that he could actually see these details without the mind's eye despite the distance. This must have been an added quirk from his rise to the seventh stage. The stairs did not seem to be that many and he realized that the illusion was still there to help deceive these people that the hall was near.
That was strength for you… The behemoth that once ruled this place, he was finally standing before them and he could not help but feel nervous. Just who were they?
Lyren suddenly felt all the gazes turn to him at once and he felt he was sucked into a vortex. The exact way to describe it was that he was suddenly sucked into a void and the whole world disappeared from him.
What had happened? Had he been sent away after finally lighting up the array? Were they not going to say anything to him after all his hard work? Were they trying to be ungrateful with him now that he had brought them back?
Rage built up in his chest as he held himself from cursing at them. Suddenly he was out of the void. His eyes were blurry and it took a while for him to focus again on his surroundings.
Well, this was unexpected…
