Chapter 320 - Battling Drake, a Clash of Mega Evolutions!

As both pseudo-Legendary Pokémon unleashed Dragon Rush, Dragonite and Garchomp crashed violently into one another.

The enormous impact sent a powerful shock wave across the battlefield, instantly kicking up clouds of dust.

For a moment, the entire arena disappeared from view.

Then Aiden's voice rang out.

"Garchomp, use Dragon Claw!"

A fierce roar erupted from within the dust cloud.

The next instant, Dragonite was sent flying out of the haze by a single savage slash from Garchomp.

It was clear that Garchomp had gained the upper hand during their earlier collision.

That was why it could now suppress Drake's Dragonite so decisively.

Drake's expression darkened.

Unlike Aiden, he possessed no special ability that allowed him to see clearly through the dust covering the battlefield.

He immediately called out,

"Dragonite, use Hurricane!"

Dragonite was facing a Ground-type Pokémon, yet Drake had chosen a Flying-type move.

Aiden's lips curled upward.

"Garchomp, use Dig!"

Dragonite flew high into the sky and released a thunderous roar.

Drawing upon its powerful ability to manipulate the weather, it began gathering a terrifying storm.

Its wings might have looked small, but Dragonite's speed was astonishing.

With a single flap, countless violent gusts appeared.

They rapidly merged into a towering tornado that tore through the battlefield.

By then, however, Garchomp had already used its powerful fins to burrow deep underground, avoiding the attack entirely.

"Dragonite, use Rain Dance!"

Empowered by the storm, torrential rain began pouring down.

Such weather would place considerable pressure on the Ground-type Garchomp.

Seeing this, Aiden immediately gave another command.

"Use Dragon Rush and burst out from underground!"

The battlefield began to tremble.

A moment later, a blue figure smashed through the earth like a rocket and shot toward Dragonite.

It was Garchomp, surrounded by the energy of Dragon Rush.

"Dragonite, counter with Hydro Pump!"

Strengthened by the rain, a massive column of water erupted from Dragonite's mouth.

Garchomp charged upward against it.

The jet-like organs along its back released their full power, driving it higher with tremendous force.

Even under the combined pressure of Rain Dance and Hydro Pump, Dragonite could not stop Garchomp's advance.

The attack struck cleanly.

Garchomp slammed directly into the underside of Dragonite's jaw.

Dragonite's eyes immediately lost focus, and its body began falling from the sky.

"Now! Keep using Dragon Claw!"

At Aiden's command, Garchomp's eyes turned ferocious.

Dragon-type energy gathered around both of its claws.

It slashed Dragonite again and again without giving it any chance to recover.

Garchomp pursued it all the way down from the sky.

By the time Dragonite crashed onto the battlefield, its eyes had already become spirals.

Ding! Garchomp defeated Dragonite.

Experience gained: 12,300.

Level increased.

Current Level: Lv. 80.

At Level 80, Garchomp had finally entered the Master tier and gained truly formidable combat power.

"Well done, Garchomp!"

Hearing Aiden's praise, Garchomp smiled proudly.

It then turned its head and glanced toward Cynthia in the audience.

Cynthia noticed and smiled back.

"Dragonite is unable to battle!"

"Garchomp wins!"

Only after hearing the referee's declaration did Drake recover from his shock.

He recalled his ace Dragonite and reached for his second Poké Ball.

"I'm counting on you, Gengar!"

Gengar appeared on the battlefield.

Drake immediately raised the Key Stone on his hand.

"Gengar, Mega Evolve!"

The Mega Stone carried by Gengar reacted at once.

Brilliant light surrounded its body.

A moment later, Mega Gengar appeared.

Compared to its ordinary form, half of Mega Gengar's body seemed to have sunk into the ground, while a dark purple glow radiated from it.

Ding! Mega Gengar's current attributes are as follows:

Aiden had originally intended to switch Pokémon.

However, Mega Gengar's Shadow Tag prevented Garchomp from being recalled.

In that case, Garchomp would simply continue battling.

"Come to think of it, my Garchomp has never Mega Evolved during an official battle before."

"Garchomp, Mega Evolve!"

At Aiden's command, Garchomp let out a deafening roar.

The Mega Stone attached to its right arm began glowing.

Rainbow-colored light enveloped its body.

When the light faded, a far more savage Mega Garchomp stood on the battlefield.

Looking at the Mega-Evolved Garchomp before him, Aiden smiled.

"Garchomp, use Sandstorm!"

An endless sandstorm immediately swept across the arena.

Under the effects of Mega Garchomp's Sand Force, the power of Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves increased dramatically.

Mega Gengar was undoubtedly troublesome.

Even so, the advantage had already shifted firmly toward Aiden.

"Gengar, use Shadow Ball!"

"Garchomp, use Earthquake!"

Mega Gengar began launching Shadow Balls one after another.

At the same time, Mega Garchomp stomped heavily on the ground.

Powerful tremors spread throughout the battlefield.

An ordinary Gengar might have been able to avoid Earthquake by floating above the ground.

After Mega Evolution, however, Gengar's body had become partially embedded in the earth.

Although the space beneath it resembled some strange alternate dimension, it could no longer avoid the full force of Earthquake.

Both attacks struck.

Yet Garchomp simply cleaved through the incoming Shadow Ball with one claw.

It suffered almost no damage at all.
