Chapter 42 - Team Magma’s Attack — Aerodactyl Revived!

After putting the Mega Aerodactyl Stone he had bought into the system space, Aiden Flint felt delighted.

As long as he could encounter Aerodactyl in the future and successfully capture it, once a basic level of intimacy was established, he would gain yet another Pokémon capable of Mega Evolution. His overall strength would skyrocket.

Still savoring the joy of this lucky bargain, Aiden prepared to leave the Mauville Museum.

But at that moment—

BOOM!

A violent explosion suddenly rang out.

In the next instant, the once perfectly orderly fossil Pokémon habitat was thrown into chaos.

The explosion had occurred right inside the fossil Pokémon enclosure. When the fence was blown apart, the frightened fossil Pokémon immediately began scattering in all directions.

Even though they were fossil Pokémon, those that had been tamed by the museum had already lost much of their ferocity.

Seeing this scene, the museum staff instantly panicked.

This fossil Pokémon park was something the museum had built with enormous effort and cost. If all the fossil Pokémon escaped, the museum would suffer catastrophic losses—bankruptcy wasn't even out of the question.

With that thought, the researchers and staff immediately released their Pokémon to try to capture the escaping fossil Pokémon.

At that moment, more than a dozen figures dressed in crimson uniforms suddenly appeared.

"Team Magma is on official business! All unrelated people get lost, or don't blame us if you lose your lives!"

Hearing this and seeing the person at the front, Aiden couldn't help showing a look of surprise.

"Seriously… why do these idiots from Team Magma and Team Aqua always like attacking museums?"

Earlier in Rustboro City, he had already encountered Team Aqua's Admin Shelly raiding the museum. Now, here was Team Magma's Admin Tabitha leading people to attack the Mauville Museum.

Hadn't Ash already clashed with both organizations? How was he still running into them?

Could it be that the resurrection of Groudon and Kyogre had some inevitable connection to museums?

While Aiden was thinking this, Tabitha spoke coldly.

"Kid, if you don't leave, then stay here forever!"

Seeing that Aiden showed no intention of backing off, Tabitha immediately threw out a Poké Ball.

A massive Camerupt appeared.

"Ding! Camerupt's current status is as follows:

Pokémon: Camerupt

Level: 38

Ability: Magma Armor

Type: Fire, Ground

Potential: Purple

Bond Evolution: Not unlocked

Mega Evolution: Not unlocked

Moves: Fissure, Flamethrower, Stomp, Incinerate, Lava Plume, Earth Power, Take Down…"

It truly lived up to being Camerupt—this species could naturally learn Eruption, one of the most powerful Fire-type moves.

Originally, only legendary Pokémon and Typhlosion could learn this move, but later Camerupt and Torkoal from Hoenn were also added.

"Hey, are all you Team Magma guys brain-dead? Which eye of yours saw me wanting to fight you?"

After cursing a few times, Aiden helplessly took out Milotic's Poké Ball.

There was no helping it—since Tabitha had already sent out Camerupt, he had no choice but to respond.

In the next moment, a slender and beautiful Milotic appeared before Tabitha and Camerupt.

Truthfully, Aiden had no intention of getting involved with Team Aqua or Team Magma. After all, if he wanted to capture Groudon and Kyogre, he would need these two organizations to do the hard work for him.

He had no desire to personally hunt down the Red Orb and Blue Orb and end up wanted by the Pokémon League as a criminal.

The best plan was to let these two evil organizations do everything, and when Groudon and Kyogre finally clashed, he would descend as a hero with Rayquaza, capture both legendary Pokémon, and reap all the benefits.

That way, he would gain everything without being hated by the Pokémon League—a perfect win-win.

But who would have thought that even though he didn't want trouble, Team Aqua and Team Magma kept coming to provoke him?

"Kid, you dare insult Team Magma? You're done! Camerupt, use Flamethrower!"

With Tabitha's command, Camerupt stomped the ground violently, and a blazing stream of fire shot out.

"Milotic, use Hydro Pump and teach this ignorant guy a lesson!"

Because of his growing anger toward Team Aqua and Team Magma, Aiden immediately sent out one of his main Pokémon, Milotic.

Feeling her Trainer's displeasure through his voice, Milotic let out a sharp cry, and a massive column of water blasted forward, colliding head-on with Camerupt's Flamethrower!

Fire and water clashed, instantly filling the entire museum floor with thick steam that blocked everyone's vision.

But soon, Milotic's overwhelming power extinguished the flames, and the Hydro Pump continued forward, slamming straight into Camerupt!

Taking a four-times-effective Water-type hit, Camerupt collapsed on the spot, unable to rise.

"Ding! Milotic defeated Camerupt, gained 412 EXP. Level increased. Current Level: Lv.44!"

Seeing his Camerupt taken down in a single blow, Tabitha's face turned green, then purple.

He never imagined that a random Trainer he ran into would be this strong—so strong that his main Pokémon was defeated in one hit.

He had wanted to show off Team Magma's might… and instead became a joke.

Just as Tabitha was about to send out another Pokémon, one of his subordinates rushed over and whispered something in his ear.

Tabitha's face immediately lit up.

"We've got what we came for. Retreat!"

Before leaving, he even threw Aiden a glare.

"Kid, you're lucky this time!"

At that very moment, a researcher ran down the stairs, shouting in panic:

"Something terrible happened! Team Magma stole the fossil revival machine! The Aerodactyl that was being revived has escaped and is now rampaging inside the museum!"
